“Jenny was so great — responded super quickly to our request, set up a meet and greet, and was wonderful with our pup! He wasn’t even a little upset that we were leaving! Jenny provided lots of pictures to set our minds at ease while we were gone. So glad to have found her!”

“Shayna was awesome! My 9 year old lab was comfortable with her from the moment they met each other during the meet & greet. She did a 3 night stay in our home and cared for our pup and 2 cats and sent texts and picture updates each day/night showing they were in good hands. We will definitely be rebooking her for future sittings! Thanks again Shayna, you rock! I’m sure my pets miss you already”

“From the minute April arrived I could tell she was a great match for our fur kids by the way our dog snuggled up right away. We haven’t left them very much and i felt so happy that especially the dog was so relaxed when we left. April was very relaxed which is vital for our sensitive pets. She was accommodating our last minute booking, had great communication, happy to deal with our special requests and sent great photos that confirmed the animals were happy. I will for sure contact her again if we need another sitter. The house was so well cared for as well as the pets and linens cleaned from her stay. She was thoughtful and competent. We are pleased with our first experience of Rover!”

“Mikayla stayed with our active Jack Russell for 2 weeks while we were away. I never worried about our pup, knowing that she was being taken care of and played with. Mikayla shared updates and pictures, and answered promptly when I checked in with her. I recommend her without hesitation, we have never been so at ease while away.”

“John was fantastic to work with and did an excellent job with our 3 dogs. I worried that three big dogs at different ages and temperaments would be challenging for someone new to take on, but John took the time to learn the routine and kept the dogs exercised, fed and happy while we were on an international trip. I was impressed with his attentiveness, reliability and communication.”
“OMG we went on vacation for three weeks and left our cat and our home in the care of Lilian, who was a rockstar. She took care of everything, followed all of our instructions and when we came home this time our cat was completely at ease. Usually when we return home from vacation, whether it's a week or longer and we have somebody stop in, we hear it from the cat for a good two weeks waking us up early in the morning rauling, but this time Bella just showed love and has been 100% normal. We would hire her again in our heartbeat. Best decision we ever made!”

“Alana showed a calm demeanor that my 80 lb German shepherd puppy responded to very well. the meet and greet was a good idea. Alana and Freya enjoyed playing ball together and Freya was happy hanging out with her. I would definitely ask for Alana again.”

“Caroline was able to bail us out when our relative's dog became ill and they could no longer watch Greta. We're very appreciative that she was able to accommodate a short notice house sit. Greta and the house were just as we had left them. Caroline was also very responsive and pleasant to talk to. We highly recommend her”

“Kirsten was fantastic with Izzy! I had to be out of the house for a very long day, and Kirsten was great about coming over to walk Izzy several times and play with her. I really appreciated her communications and I would definitely book with Kirsten again!”

“Jennifer was great - she came to our home for 3 nights that we were going to be out of town to take care of our 10 lb. chihuahua mix. The house was left spotless and our dog seemed like she had a really great time while we were away (which isn't always the case). We'll definitely be booking again for our in-home pet sitting needs.”

“Calleigh is the best! She’s been our go-to walker, and my dog loves hanging out with her. She recently house-sat for us and was great! She’s responsive and does a great job. I’ll definitely be booking again 🙂”

“Jessica. I’m grateful we’ve reconnected. Thank you for taking care of our crazy girl. Boarding just doesn’t work for her so this is the perfect solution and the added bonus of some cleaning which you didn’t need to do but….we are grateful for. Thank you thank you!!!”

“We couldn't be happier with Stacie's services. She stayed with our dog Bailey while we were away on a 4 day camping trip. She checked-in with us multiple times a day with pictures and notes about how he was doing. When we got home it was evident that he was happy and had a great time with her, and the house was spotless. We could not even tell that anyone was in our house while we were gone.”

About: I'm happy to work with dogs of all walks and understand some dogs may need more time than others to get to know me. I'm experienced with training tools (crates/prong/ecollar) through working with a professional trainer with my own dog (a 3yo 80lb GSD mix), though respect owners' choices who prefer not to use them. My preferred relationship building style is through play and trust, putting dogs' safety and needs first. I currently work a full time 9-5 on weekdays. I'm available on weekends for drop ins and walks. 1-2 mile trail walks offered in the morning hours of summer and from dusk-dawn in other seasons. I often put the dogs safety and needs first and respect any boundaries you/your dog have. Aside from drop ins and a walk around the neighborhood, im very open (and love the great outdoors) to taking your pup on a short 1-2mi hike at nearby public dog friendly trails. My dog would love a hiking buddy if his vibes are right with yours!
“Taylor was a wonderful pet sitter and took excellent care of our two small dogs and our house! She is very warm and friendly and was great with our pets. When we came home after our weekend away, our pets were relaxed and happy. She even baked some cookies for us!”

“Julian did a wonderful job house sitting for our anxious pup and cat. Kali takes a bit to get used to people and after the first time all went well. I think she made a new friend!”

About: I've trained dogs and raised puppies, took care of my grandmother for years(24/7 homecare), I hate theives, I'm loyal and I'm honest/hard working. Animals love me because I'm a child at heart and always will be. I used to help my friend with pet services such as daycare and training until night when we took all the dogs home to their owners. I will do exactly as requested. If you simply want someone to babysit them and or the house, I can do that. If you want someone to only watch them for 2hours, feed them a specific treat at specific times, potty break at specific times, etc, I can do that.
About: I’m a true animal lover. I have two dogs of my own who I absolutely adore, and I’ve also volunteered with animal rescues in the past. I’m simply looking for a way to spend more time with animals, help pet parents when they need it, and make sure their pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I have a flexible schedule and can incorporate walks, drop-in visits, and other pet care needs throughout my day. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, and I’ll work to make sure they receive the attention and care they need during each visit. I care for every pet as if they were my own. I follow each owner’s instructions and routine while making sure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll provide plenty of attention, affection, and care because I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in good hands.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hudson
Nathan looked after our two dogs, our cat, and our home for 6 days. He was great. Everyone was well cared for and the house was neat and clean when we got home. Nathan was excellent at communication and very professional at every step of the way. When he met the dogs he quickly established a playful rapport with them. He is clearly a dog person and they respond to him wonderfully. One of our dogs, is very reactive and can be a bit of a handful and Nathan was able to handle her without issue. I would most definitely book with Nathan again.

Caroline was awesome! We were nervous about leaving our reactive dog with someone she doesn’t know well but Caroline let Athena investigate her on her own time and by the end of the week, Athena was offering her tummy for belly rubs. She was patient and caring and we definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a dependable sitter for their anxious pup!

Stacie, took incredible care of our kitties while we were out of town. Stacie is a fantastic communicator and is sure to ask clarifying questions on instructions if anything is unclear. We loved the cute pictures she sent us of our boys while were gone also! Thank you again for watching our little furbabies, Stacie. They always love their time with you!

Shayna was awesome! I’m sure my pets miss you already

Brandon was great!! Would love to have him stay with out dogs again. He was super communicative, and sent picture updates. He even let Olive sleep in bed with him hahaha. We were nervous with Harvey since he’s a new addition, but he was great with Harvey off leash, and seemed to really enjoy him. He even came back to let our dogs out one last time when we got stuck with airline issues. I Was very thankful that we left our dogs with someone who treated them just as we would. Cannot suggest Brandon enough!

Lea was amazing, she knew I was going to a concert and might not get back exactly on time. She arrived 10 minutes earlier than scheduled to help me out and stayed half an hour later due to traffic. She took great care of Maisie and followed all my instructions. Maisie was fast asleep when I got home in usual crate per the instructions. She did great!! You can definitely tell Lea is experienced and takes great care of the pets she sits.

Lee Ann was wonderful. She house sat for us, and took such lovely care of our animals and our home. We have an involved crew and she handled the needs and challenges that arose with understanding and grace. We highly recommend her, and would definitely use her services again.
This was our first time having someone board in our home with our pup, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, Klarysa did a fabulous job taking care of our dog and treated our home with incredible respect. We received frequent updates and plenty of photos, which completely eased our anxiety and allowed us to actually relax while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for our pup was the entire time. We came home to a spotless house—honestly, it was in pristine condition. We’re so grateful for the care, communication, and professionalism, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend!

Sam was exactly what a pet sitter should be: attentive, reliable, and communicative. Our pups, Teddie & Stella, were clearly loved and well taken care of during our vacation. And major plus: so was our home. We will absolutely be utilizing Sam again and I know our pups will be thrilled when the time comes!

Selyn was great! We were traveling with our border collie who was nervous in a strange place. We hired Selyn to stay with him while we went to a wedding and let her know he may not do anything but stare at the door until we got back. Selyn was perfect, very calm and waited for him to come to her. She brought toys and a did a great painting activity with him. I highly recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hudson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hudson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hudson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
