“Lea was amazing! Took a last minute booking for us, for a newly adopted puppy that’s still got lots of skills to level up. Arrived promptly. Communication was amazing! Lots of pictures and updates. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Jenny was so great — responded super quickly to our request, set up a meet and greet, and was wonderful with our pup! He wasn’t even a little upset that we were leaving! Jenny provided lots of pictures to set our minds at ease while we were gone. So glad to have found her!”

“Lee Ann was wonderful! She stayed with our two dogs and cat who had never been left alone before. I was more anxious than anyone ha ha! Everyone did great! Lee Ann’s communication and photos were exactly what I needed. My pups are rescued and adding extra stress bringing them on our trip or boarding them just isn’t what they need. I am so pleased to have found someone who we can trust with our animals and in our home! Will absolutely book again! Made our weekend so much more enjoyable. Thank you!!”

“Mikayla was awesome with our girls and very professional with our house while we were out of town. We came home to happy dogs and a clean home, she was also very good about communication both before and during the trip. Will absolutely use her again.”

“Theo was amazing! My little guys are a handful and he took excellent care of them and our home while we were away. My little guys are also very picky about who they trust and warmed up to Theo instantly! We received several videos, photos and updates. We even had a hiccup in our travel plans and Theo was more than accommodating. We will definitely use him again!”

“Indigo stayed for a few nights to watch my dog and cat giving them lots of cuddles walks and keeping me apprised of how everyone was doing with frequent updates and photos. Indigo left the house spotless and would be welcome back anytime.”

“Caroline was amazing! She communicated well before, during and after her sit. She sent a photo of our pets while we were away. The house looked exactly as we left it when we returned after our time away. And most importantly our two dogs and one cat seemed very happy when we got home.”

“John was fantastic to work with and did an excellent job with our 3 dogs. I worried that three big dogs at different ages and temperaments would be challenging for someone new to take on, but John took the time to learn the routine and kept the dogs exercised, fed and happy while we were on an international trip. I was impressed with his attentiveness, reliability and communication.”
“Nathan was wonderful - providing loving care for my two dogs. He was on time, offered support when my dog sprained her ankle, and attentive to their needs. Thank you Nathan!”

“Lilian was fantastic with Dexter and Nova during our booking. Dexter, our energetic little pup, and Nova, our sweet cat, were both calm, happy, and clearly well cared for when we got home. Lilian kept everything smooth and stress‑free, giving them plenty of attention and making sure their routines stayed on track. It’s such a relief knowing they were in kind, capable hands. We’d definitely book with her again!”

“Stacie takes such incredible care of our cats and our home! It always warms my heart coming back to our kitties so happy and themselves. It's obvious to me how comfortable they must be in Stacie's care and we couldn't be more grateful. I always know my house and my little fur babies are in the best hands they could be when we work with Stacie. Thank you again for another amazing stay with our boys! ❤️”

“Margaret was super good! She took care of our dog while we were away for 6 days! Sent us a report daily and updated us with pictures! We’re very satisfied, definitely will book again!”

“Jessica T. is fantastic. Our dog Buttercup loves her and is always excited to see her. We have used Jessica a couple times while we were away on vacation. Caroline was amazing! She communicated well before, during and after her sit. She sent a photo of our pets while we were away. The house looked exactly as we left it when we returned after our time away. And most importantly our two dogs and one cat seemed very happy when we got home.

Lee Ann was wonderful. She house sat for us, and took such lovely care of our animals and our home. We have an involved crew and she handled the needs and challenges that arose with understanding and grace. We highly recommend her, and would definitely use her services again.
Nathan went above and beyond while watching our two dogs and our cats during our five‑day trip. He was responsible, respectful of our home, and clearly attentive to each of our animals. It made a huge difference knowing everything was taken care of back home, and it really reduced our stress while traveling. We’re grateful for his help and would gladly book him again.

This was our first time having someone board in our home with our pup, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, Klarysa did a fabulous job taking care of our dog and treated our home with incredible respect. We received frequent updates and plenty of photos, which completely eased our anxiety and allowed us to actually relax while we were away. It was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for our pup was the entire time. We came home to a spotless house—honestly, it was in pristine condition. We’re so grateful for the care, communication, and professionalism, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend!

Sam was exactly what a pet sitter should be: attentive, reliable, and communicative. Our pups, Teddie & Stella, were clearly loved and well taken care of during our vacation. And major plus: so was our home. We will absolutely be utilizing Sam again and I know our pups will be thrilled when the time comes!

Selyn was great! We were traveling with our border collie who was nervous in a strange place. We hired Selyn to stay with him while we went to a wedding and let her know he may not do anything but stare at the door until we got back. Selyn was perfect, very calm and waited for him to come to her. She brought toys and a did a great painting activity with him. I highly recommend her!

This was my first time booking someone with Rover. Matt was amazing. It was a last minute booking. Matt took the time to meet us a day before I went on vacation and was extremely professional. I asked if he could stay over my house so that my dog is more comfortable and he had no problem with that. I was nervous about leaving my dog with someone but Matt made it extremely comfortable for me. He sent updates and pictures every single day. I thought I would be stressing out on vacation but with how Matt handled everything, I didn’t even have to worry much. If I could rate this higher I would. Definitely booking with Matt again

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,640 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hudson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hudson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hudson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hudson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hudson. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
