Mari is fabulous! Nat was a bit unhappy to be woken from her nap but Mari handled it like the pro she is. They had nice, productive walks and her communication was top notch. She was always on time, gave me a full rundown and she is a lovely person. After meeting with her, I was at ease knowing me sweet senior pup would be well taken care of and I was spot on. I will happily use Mari again and recommend her without hesitation. In fact, I already have some upcoming dates in mind and felt comfortable in booking my next trip knowing my baby would be well taken care of in my absence. Thank you Mari for taking such good care of Nat and being so accommodating.

Gabrielle and I have been working together to learn how to care for my three dogs. I have a German Shepherd who needs time and patience before he'll accept a new person. Gabrielle has walked with us a handful of times now to gain my dog's trust and to learn how to properly handle him. She is very patient, has solid background knowledge in dog training, and is very open to learning what works best for our family. I'm very happy with the amount of time Gabrielle has spent with us and I'm confident that she'll be able to handle our pups when we go on our next vacation.

About: I live in the Upper East Side and work (remotely) in the tech space. I haven’t had my own pup since moving from CA, so Rover is my way to get my dog fix! If you have any questions about me or my availability just let me know! I’ve owned and babysat everything from Newfoundlands and pit bulls, to 15-pound poodles. Rest assured your dog will be in good hands! I currently work in the tech sales space and my job is entirely remote, and hours are flexible, I’ll have plenty of time to take your dog on as many walks as he/she wants! My apartment is in a dog-friendly building in the Upper East Side Manhattan. That said, it’s a small 1-bedroom, so if your dog likes space to race around inside, this may not be the best spot. Plenty of room for a crate if needed, and if your dog likes to sleep on the bed, all good with me!

About: My boyfriend (& roommate) and I both have a lifelong love for animals and am really missing having pets around! I’ve grown up with all sorts of dog breeds ranging from Pit Bulls to Havanese and feel comfortable around them all. I’ve also opened my home to foster dogs, embracing the joys and challenges that come with caring for both older dogs and newborn puppies. My commitment to the well-being of these animals extends beyond routine care to creating a warm and loving environment that caters to their individual needs. I have a fully remote job so I am at my house most of the day with lots of spare time for walks and cuddles. My boyfriend Will is also obsessed with both dogs and cats and gives them even more attention when he is home before and after work. While we are in the upper unit of a duplex, we have a fully fenced yard and live in a great very walkable neighborhood. I have space in my house for a crate and any other supplies needed to make your pet feel comfortable. I live with my boyfriend who is also a huge animal lover so rest assured your pet will get plenty of love and attention! Please note we do have stairs to get up to our unit with a large deck that gets lots of sun!

About: I've had dogs nearly my entire life, enjoying them from puppyhood to senior age. As my kids grew up, I have also taken care of hamsters, bunnies, lizards, turtles, and parakeets. But most of all, I love dogs. My dog Rainie is an English lab, half chocolate/half yellow who loves playing with other dogs, especially other labs. I'm very familiar with the needs and limitations of senior dogs and can adapt our routines accordingly. I only host one dog at a time to ensure everyone gets enough peace and pettings. We can host caged pets at the same time (small reptiles and parakeets). I'm retired and can host your pet anytime with advance notice. My calendar will accurately indicate my availability. My regular routine includes walking and gardening with our guest dogs. I have a large fenced yard and a single level home 8 steps above ground. Your dog will spend most of their time wherever I happen to be and will be given regular potty breaks. Your dog will enjoy romping in the yard for extended periods under supervision, but will not be left unattended in the yard. Please provide detailed feeding and medication instructions and I will follow them to the letter. Tell me about your dog's special likes, dislikes, fears, and behavioral quirks so we can make dog feel at home. Your dog must be able to manage the steps to get in and out of the house, be willing to use the doggie ramp, or be small enough for me to carry up and down. Must be housebroken. Please provide crate if crate trained and more comfortable in the crate. Or, provide favorite bed or blanket. Otherwise, we have a collection of blankets. Please bring your dog's favorite toy. Some large dogs accepted, depending on size, breed, and degree of training. A meet and greet is a must for most dogs. Pit bulls, Rottweilers, and Dobermans will not be accepted under any circumstances. I realize that many individual dogs are very sweet, but as a rule, these breeds unnerve me, and the dog will sense that.

Carol agreed in Oct to have visits to meet our dog in preparation for Xmas trip. Our dog is really scared of strangers. It took 6-7 visits for our dog to get used to Carol. Carol was very patient with it. She was flexible working out times and was able to do some walking visits at Xmas. She contacted us with updates and questions and we felt like our dog was in good hands. We will continue to work with Carol now that our dog has another person she likes!

Katt is an incredible dog walker! From the moment she arrived, my dogs were instantly comfortable with her. She was warm, attentive, smart, and asked all the right questions. She came prepared with a fantastic treat bag and a solid understanding and positive reinforcement. She handled my two energetic dogs with ease and confidence, and I immediately felt at ease knowing they were great hands. I couldn’t have been happier to find her - highly recommend just after one walk!

I am currently attending California State University, Monterey Bay, full time, but I will definitely try my best to schedule my services around my schedule. I don’t allow clients to board their pets at my own house, but I will make sure to keep your pet as safe as possible at your house or on a walk.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, and give lots of love to their pets. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable with puppies, adult dogs, and senior pets. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. On weekdays, I’m available from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. On weekends, I’m available from Friday through Sunday, which allows me to provide care while owners travel or need extended hours. I’m flexible and happy to adjust to each pet’s needs. While I’m unable to provide care in my own home, I specialize in caring for pets in their owner’s home, where they feel safest and most at ease. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and personality, ensuring consistent feeding schedules, clean litter areas, engaging playtime, and plenty of affection. If needed, I’m also happy to assist with light cleaning related to pet care or maintaining a tidy space. I treat every home with respect and every pet with the same level of care and attention I give my own, creating a calm and stress-free experience while their owners are away.

About: I’ve sat for friends and family through out the years. I’ve also taken care of my own animals for years and have become more attentive throughout the years of getting older and being in charge of 2 dogs and 2 cats at one point. I’m used to being around rescue animals with anxieties as all of my animals have been rescued. I would love to care for your pets and treat them as one of my family members and best friend. I am currently a hostess part-time and have a pretty open schedule. I would love to have dog walks and hanging out with dogs and cats be part of my daily routine again. Since living in an apartment I had to leave my childhood dog at home with my mom. I’m used to giving medicating in food and treats as well as through syringes in the mouth. I am also used to preparing food meals.

About: Hello! My name is Cara and I would love to welcome your pet into my home! I am also free for walks or drop-in visits. I have lived with and owned dogs for my entire life and have extensive experience in pet sitting, walking, and overall care. As a dog-mom to a 4 year old Whippet, I understand the balance of maintaining your personal life and finding someone you trust to care for your dog while you're away and/or working. I am here to help you! Your dog will be treated like family leaving them happy and you with peace of mind. I understand that each dog is unique and has different needs. I will do everything I can to accommodate and make sure your dog is comfortable! My husband and I primarily work from home with lots of time to give love and attention to your furry friend! I am available to walk or board dogs most days of the week. Please reach out to check my current availability and I'm sure I can meet your needs. Your pet is always free to play in the fully-fenced patio area with my friendly dog and will have many opportunities to go on walks to get exercise. My dog is always looking for a new buddy or walking partner! Since we have flexible schedules, your dog will rarely be left alone. If I run out for a brief errand, I will never be gone for more than 2 hours. Crates are also available to use if your pet is crate trained. Additionally, I am willing to travel to pick-up and drop-off your pet for an additional fee. I have a fully enclosed patio with a small spot perfect for easy potty breaks or to lay in the sunshine. The enclosed outdoor area is always fully accessible to your pet with the exception of bedtime during overnight stays.

About: I grew up helping friends, family and neighbors with their cats and dogs. I have taken care of small dogs and big dogs alike. I have experience with senior dogs who need more love than activity. I currently work full time, but I am remote on Fridays. I have ample time available on the weekends to provide support for your furry friend. If you need someone to help with your furry love our house sit for the week of the 4th of July, I’m off that week and available! I allow my pets on the couch, but they have multiple beds to choose from. They have access to water and are secured in the apartment. We only take walks on leash, and I have a gate to keep them secure if the front door needs to be opened. If a client requires a crate for their pet, they will need to bring it.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Pebble Beach. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
