About: I’ve had dogs my entire life (35+ years) and have experience with a wide range of breeds, ages, personalities, and needs. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, and pets who require extra patience, attention, or medical care. I have hands-on experience administering medications, including insulin for diabetic dogs, and caring for dogs with seizures and other health concerns. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and closely monitoring a pet’s health and behavior. While I’m not a professional trainer, I’ve completed training classes with my own dogs and have continued that experience by working with my mom’s dog as well. I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training, structure, and positive behaviors. I’m a stay-at-home homeschooling mom with two children (ages 4 and 9) who love dogs. Because I’m home most of the day, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care. I also offer care in your home when preferred. Safety, routine, and comfort are very important to me. I closely supervise pets, follow instructions carefully, provide regular updates, and work to make every pet feel secure and relaxed while in my care. I can care for multiple dogs who are familiar and friendly with one another. If needed, I can also accommodate dogs separately to help ensure a calm, stress-free environment for everyone.
“I am grateful to meet Crissy. She took great care of Koji, my 8 yrs cat. He’s is very shy but in a matter of 24 hrs Crissy win him over. I was impressed, and very happy with the outcome. Thank you Crissy for your service, I am very pleased. Martin”

About: Growing up with both dogs and cats gave me a lifelong love for animals. Caring for them has always come naturally to me. I'm kind, patient, attentive, and dependable, and I take the time to understand each pet's unique personality and routine. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I'll treat your pet with the same love, care, and respect I'd give my own. My goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I’m a college student who works part-time, which allows me to maintain a flexible schedule and provide attentive, reliable care for your pets. During the summer, I have open availability, and throughout the school year I carefully plan my time to make sure every pet receives the love, attention, and care they deserve. I keep my Rover calendar updated and will always communicate clearly so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide attentive, reliable care in the comfort of your pet's own home, where they will always be supervised and treated like family. I carefully follow your pet's routine, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special instructions. I keep fresh water available at all times, ensure doors and gates are secure, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Denise was incredible! Denise checked in on our two cats while we were away on a vacation and we got very quick progress reports with a lot of photos. We will be planning to book Denise again. Thank you!!!!!”

“It's been a long time since we left our dog overnight and unfortunately she decided to be terrified. Jen went above and beyond trying to coax and make Hildy comfortable. Highly recommend!”

“Lisa did a fabulous job with our dog. We were away for a week and used Lisa during the second half of the week. We knew our dog was very stressed and anxious and warned Lisa she would be in for a challenge. Lisa really went above and beyond to make my dog feel safe and to help her blow off some stream. Lisa sent lots of updates and a ton of pictures. I would happily use Lisa again!”
“Ollie loves Maria and she's very good with him, and very attentive to his needs as an older dog with a few joint and medical needs. Excellent walk and service.”

About: I’m Dan and I love dogs. I’ve always had a K-9 companion and love the company dogs provide. Walks, fresh air and playtime are things I like just as dogs do. I’m caring, loving, and respectful and always treat others the way I want to be treated. I’ve had a dog all throughout my life and have experience caring for animals of different sizes, breeds, and personalities! I have the most experience with Black Labradors, German Shepherds and Beagles, but would care for any pup. I understand how hard it is to be away from your pup so I’ll be in consistent communication, sending photo and text updates so you know how much fun your pup is having in my care. I have a flexible schedule so I can provide the perfect amount of love, activity, and play time in the care of your pup! I can’t wait to get to know you and your dog, creating a communicative, kind, and respectful working relationship. I will provide the same love, care and attention that I would provide my own dog to yours. It’s in my nature to go the extra mile to go above and beyond to make your dog feel like they’re at home! When I’m not spending time with animals, I spend my time working full-time at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Even though I do work full-time, this will not get in the way of providing an excellent stay for your K-9 companion. I am very flexible and accommodating in order to provide the best possible care for your K-9 friend. I work full-time, however I can still take your dog for a brisk walk in the morning and evening. I am off on the weekends so your dog will have plenty of exercise and play time. I have fenced dog park right behind my apartment where your day can be active and interact with other dogs from the neighborhood. I can also crate your dog if necessary.
“Our pup took to Zana immediately. Zana is naturally at ease around him and interacts with him in a sweet manner. This was our first visit since the meet and greet. Looking forward to booking Zana again.”

“We were away for six days and felt so comfortable leaving our Siamese cat, Gus, with Michelle. Gus has a lot of personality and usually doesn't like many people, but Michelle truly had the magic touch! He was completely at ease and so cuddly with her. She was great at communicating and we loved getting all the photo updates. We will definitely book her again!”

“Stephanie should be a professional pet photographer. The pics she sent us were great! Our older guy also needs meds now and she did great making sure he took them since he sometimes resists. She was very sweet to our cats and took great care of them. Will be working with Stephanie again in the future!”
About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a kid. Dog walking was my first "job". I now have a pet of my own that is my world that i trained myself. Dog sitting/ taking care of animals is the best job out theree. I am currently returned from the peace corps and in between jobs. Taking care of your pets is a first step back into the work force. I will keep your fur baby calm, comfortable, and loved. I am a guest in their space and will not over bare. Doing what they love most is how I will build that relationship.

“Elizabeth was a great communicator and I felt safe leaving her with my cats. We were worried about our boy needing medication while we were gone and she was wonderful and got it done with no issues.”

About: I love animals with all my heart. I aim to treat each pet as one of my own to be comfortable home! I will give special love and care to each pet! I am a stay at home mom, I have 2 children so I can do visits. I have loads of time to spend with doggy’s in my home! I have been watching pets for over 10 years in my home and others home. For house sitting, I can go over multiple times a day but cannot stay overnight because I have children. For boarding meet and greet needs to be scheduled before the date of stay to make sure it is a good fit. I strive for the utmost safety of each pet in our home! I have a large fenced back yard, provide treats and toys. I also have 4 crates if your dog needs to be crated at night or I also provide dog beds if they prefer that! It’s all about what you prefer for your pet! I want them as comfortable as possible.

About: I have experience taking care of a border collie, Australian Shepard, and a German Shepard. I enjoy walking around the city and always open to a companion or two joining me. I am able to host dogs at my place, with my German Shepard. I have a fully fenced in yard that all dogs can play in, and I can walk them around my neighborhood. I am also able to do drop in visits for dogs or cats and stop by to walk any dogs. I normally travel for work 3 days a week. When not traveling I am either working from home or have local visits. I plan out my visits so that any pets staying with me will not go longer than 4 hours alone. I will allow all dogs to roam freely while I’m at home and take a break to play with them, and my dog, for about 10 minutes every hour. It gets boring sitting in front of a computer. For any walks or drop ins the time is spent making sure they get plenty of stimulation. Whether it’s walking a new route or playing in the yard I have a fenced in back yard. No other dogs or animals get in the yard, except a squirrel or two. When walking in my neighborhood there is minimal traffic since it has no way for cars to go through it( a lot of dead end streets). I’m close to 695 so if an emergency happens I can get to many vets in the area fast.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Parkville
We are extremely grateful for the wonderful loving care Elsie showed our two cats. We have a senior cat that does much better with attention and love. Upon arriving home we could tell he had received both! She handled everything we asked her to do and more. We will definitely use her services again.

Kelly was awesome as usual! This is the fourth year we have used her to watch our cats while on vacation. She is 100% reliable, and trustworthy! She is also very easy to communicate with, and keeps you updated everyday on how your pets are doing. She is quick to learn their personalities and their needs. We always know that our animals are in great hands while we are away!

I was glad to have Dalton look after a cat............LOL. But I felt stress-free and had a peaceful time. My camera would alert me when someone entered my unit, and I had no reason to check and have pictures sent. Dyson is a strange cat when I'm ready to leave town. Dalton is a GREAT backup. Thanks Dalton

Crissy took great care of Vinny during her drop-in visit. We did a meet and greet first and she was super patient with him since he is slow to get to know new people. She asked great questions at the meet and greet, then gave thorough (and cute!) updates after the visit. He was comfortable with her and she kept his occupied and happy.

Catherine made my first experience with this service a great one! I was so nervous and she made me feel at ease. My dog can be highly anxious but did well with Catherine. Also, this booking was last minute so Catherine was truly a life saver. I would definitely recommend and use her services again!

She was so caring and kind to Watermelon. I had a problem with ants and she came up with a good solution of moving her food/water bowls. She even swept up around the litter box to keep her area clean. She sent videos and pictures daily (which were better than the ones I take). Gave me a daily report card and if they had activity time together. Once she left she would notify me so I could turn on my security. All in all, an excellent sitter and highly recommended. I would definitely use her in the future. Thanks Lisa!!!!

Jenna is my girl! After each visit, I have more and more pictures for my cat's modeling book. She's also super flexible with schedule changes - I've had to come back early from trips on two occasions and she has been patient, understanding, and super accommodating.

This is my second time hiring Britney to watch our 3 cats and boa, and she was amazing once again! She’s clearly taken the time and patience to build trust with our cats, which means so much to us because they can be shy with new people. Shes also excellent at giving meds to our senior cat. It gives us peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
