I think you need to let the pets know you’re there for them. When I’ve watched cats and dogs before, I usually try to talk to them and comfort them, but also give them their safe space.

There are days we may not be feeling well and need some medicine and I don’t mind giving your pet some daily meds. I’ve had to give my cat medicine and a dog I babysat medicine on a strict timer.
A typical day
I like to take your dog on long walks (if able) and let them run at a park or in your backyard. I think finding other ways to mentally stimulate your pets is important. I always leave plenty of toys out for your cats and play with them if they allow.

I have two cats who are my bundle of joy! But beyond that, I grew up with dogs and continue to take care of them!
