“Lauchlan was flexible & prompt with her drop in visits. She was very attentive to my concerns with my cat while I was away. She kept me informed while I was away and tried engaging my cat with activity. My cat is cautious with strangers, but Lauchlan played with her and was very determined to establish a connection with her, even laying on the floor. Lauchlan knows the signs a pet will show when they are feeling stressed / anxiety, which I was concerned about. She kept me informed of her overall well being while I was gone, which made me feel good! I had only booked 3 days of visits, but Lauchlan was developing a connection with her. I would highly recommend Lauchlan and will definitely reach out to her again if I'm in the need of a sitter! Little Momma & I Thank you for your caring visits!”

“Balbina is an excellent care giver for our cat Milo. She is definitely reliable, caring, responsible and respectful. We appreciate you Balbina very much for being there for Milo.”

“Jessi has been awesome letting the pups out. She always sends a lot of pictures and information on how the dogs are doing. We have used her multiple times and will continue to use her”

“She is SO good with my cat. I went to Hawaii for a week and he absolutely loves her. She pays close attention to detail and really cares about the little things, like playing with him with his favorite toy and getting all of his feeding details down. Highly recommend!”

“Our normal cat sitter had a family emergency and canceled our reservations. Meaghan was willing to help us on short notice. She did a fantastic job. We received daily updates and pictures. We had added a bunch of extra chores for her, one of the cats needing medication as such. She even kept up with vacuuming up the tiny bits of food that can tend to be thrown around when the cats eat. We came home to relaxed kitties and a clean house. We intended to contact her first if we ever have the need. Highly recommend!”

“Caitlin was great!!!! My dog, Rodgers, loved her and her belly rubs. My booking was also VERY last minute so very thankful she was able to help with such short notice and on a Holiday! Will be using her every time we need a dog sitter 🥰”

“We were very happy with Sandra taking care of our pet. She was a perfect, kind and efficient pet sitter. I highly recommend Sandra. While away from our fur baby, we felt very comfortable knowing he was being lovingly cared for by Sandra.”

“Thank you Shannon for taking care of Milo and Chief this week! Your promptness and reliability really relieved worry for me on how long the dogs would be in the crates without a break. I appreciate the daily walks! Thanks again! You’re definitely recommend and I’ll reach out to you again when needed!”

“Erin is great. One of the cats gets anxious when we leave and had a couple of accidents outside the litter box. Erin was so kind and understanding. She is the best. I feel so at ease watching my babies. I would highly recommend Erin.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
