“Emily was fantastic with Minnie! Her home is incredibly dog-friendly, with plenty of beds, blankets, and a great backyard for play. Minnie stayed for one night, went on her walks, and I felt completely confident she was in good hands. If we’re ever back in Nashville, we would definitely book Emily again. Highly recommend!”

“Liz was so amazing to my boys! She sent regular updates with photos throughout their stay. Very timely and kind, and I will absolutely use her again in the future. It was great having peace of mind while I was away on vacation knowing that my babies were well taken care of.”

“Nathan was awesome! We received photos and videos and he kept us informed on how our dog was doing. Nathan took her for walks and spoiled her rotten. We couldn't have been more pleased!”

“Kelly did amazing. Our pup is super shy and is terrified of strangers, but he warmed up to her and her children better than anyone else he has stayed with. Kelly asked plenty of questions to make sure she understood his needs ahead of time and sent me updates and photos regularly. We will be booking with her again in the future!”

“Dominic was so attentive with our pups and responsive with us! He was extremely flexible when our travel home got delayed and the dogs had no problem waiting a couple extra hours getting cuddled and pampered. We got cute pictures every day. I would definitely ask Dominic to watch our dogs again.”

“Brook took such great care of our pups! They get so much playtime, I’m sure they were exhausted every night and didn’t even have time to miss us or home! We will definitely be using his service again in the future!”

“We left our pups with Katherine twice now and both times they came home so happy (and tired!). She was very responsive and flexible with our flight delays. We are sad that our time in Nashville has come to an end and wish we could take her (and Bronco) with us!”

“Laura was an outstanding host! Lots of pictures, videos, and updates. Friendly and responsive. My energetic puppy came home pooped after spending two days with her sweet dogs. Would recommend!”

“Sydnie and her family are great sitters for our dogs. This past stay for them was the longest they’ve been away from us for a stretch and Sydnie always kept us updated with plenty of pics of our boys!”

“Michelle and Bryce are THE BEST. We had very unusual circumstances of needing longer term care for our dog and cat and Michelle and Bryce have truly truly taken them in as their own. They have lavished them with love and affection, as well as taken care of all their specific needs and quirks. They are communicative, honest, encouraging and so so effusive about their love of our pets. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for them in this season of our lives. And I deeply respect how they walk through the world with care - for one another, for the animals, for us. Thank you Michelle and Bryce!”

“My dog was well taken care of with Molly! She was incredibly flexible and made everything so easy. She sent regular update and videos that gave me total peace of mind when I was away. Kylo was comfortable, happy and well taken care of the entire time!”

“Erid + Cheryl are absolute angels! My sweet pup Theo was well loved & cared for and had the best stay in their home. I was away from him for a week for the 1st time in a while, and they took such wonderful care of him and even gave him a lil bath before I picked him up. Put my mind at ease knowing he was with folks that cared for him and enjoyed his cuddles! Can’t thank ya’ll enough and so so appreciate you! Theo hopes to see ya’ll soon 🤍”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Old Hickory
I had my two dogs with Niyired for 6 days. They were well taken care of and they seemed happy in their boarding place. The place was clean and they had ample place to play. The sitter sent pics from time to time. I wished to get more pics as we missed our dogs a lot during the travel. But it was really nice of her to help us at the last minute when two other sitters canceled. We will surely use this sitter again.

We had such a wonderful experience with Valerie! This was our first time using Rover, so we were a little nervous about leaving our dog with someone new, especially since he’s older and a little socially awkward. But he absolutely loved her, which made us feel so much more at ease. She was very kind, attentive, and easy to communicate with. Her car was also incredibly clean, which we really appreciated when she picked him up. She was also very accommodating with our travel plans, which was so kind and made everything much easier for us. We’re so happy we found her, and we would definitely have her watch our dog again. Highly recommend!

Konnor was beyond excellent in communication and response time. She remained flexible with changing drop off/pick up times. I appreciated her availability on a busy holiday weekend. We wanted to keep our pup in a safe environment and she made sure he was well taken care of while sending pics and videos. Highly recommend Konnor and would book again when in the area.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
