“Jasper was so comfortable at Dana’s! He looked very at home and it eased my mind while I was away to see that he was content. Jasper will definitely be back in the future :)”

“Kimberly and her family are amazing! Chyna was so happy to go and play with their dog for the weekend. She was worn out after her fun filled weekend. Would suggest her any time to any one! ”

“Alexis kept us updated with photo and messages. It was our dogs first time with “pet sitting” on Rover and Alexis was patient and attentive with our fur babies. We are so grateful she was able to help us with our last minute need for help before a trip. We definitely recommend her!”

“Jodie and John are amazing dog sitters! We have used their services several times and will keep coming back. They love our dogs as if they were there own and make sure to spoil them relentlessly. We got updates and pictures throughout the day to let us know all the fun they were having. I highly recommend having Jodie and John take care of your animals. You will feel at ease knowing they are in the best hands. Thank you so much for loving our doggies! We appreciate you both so very much.”

“Erica was the best! My dog is a rescue and a bit timid and Erica was able to bond with her and she had a great stay. Also, Erica put me at ease sending many photos and videos of our Tilly while we were on vacation. Definitely will rebook with Erica again.”

“Darien was so great in caring for Lily! She is so sweet and could tell she would make Lily feel right at home. She sent us such good photos and updates while we were away, which were so nice! We would definitely book with her again! 💗”

About: I’ve worked in emergency vet med for 5 years and I’m comfortable with everything from reptiles, to Great Danes. I personally do several dog sports with my border collies and I’m always up for learning the special needs and quirks of your fur babies I currently work full time but my holiday, evenings and weekends are free to love your fur babies. My work schedule is done far in advanced so my off days can be made available! I’m available for walks and drop in services from your home. Caring for your pet while your away in their own home allows me to keep their schedule the same and cause less anxiety
“Dan and his family were excellent dog sitters for our pup who stayed with them for 3 nights. She is 7 months old and this was our first time leaving her with anyone so I was very nervous. We did a meet and greet and Dan and his family made us feel comfortable right away. During her stay, he was very responsive to texts and gave multiple updates about what they did and even sent pics! They have a nice background where our girl was able to run around and play and their house is very spacious and clean. They took her on multiple long walks during her stay and when we picked her up on Sunday and brought her home I could not believe how exhausted she was! She’s a puppy with lots of energy so to see her passed out means she must’ve had a great time getting lots of attention and exercise! I definitely would not hesitate to have Dan dog sit again for us and I’m grateful to know I now have someone that she & I both trust & feel comfortable with. Thanks again to Dan & his wonderful family!”

“This was the second time that Jessica and her husband took care of Jackson. He had another great time with them. Jessica went above and beyond, dealing with a broken collar. Highly recommend!”

“Julie and Noah took great care of my two dogs. They gave me regular updates and pictures. I know they were in a loving, caring home while I was away and were treated like part of their family.”

“Zach and Kristin were amazing with Shrek! They sent tons of great updates and photos throughout his stay, which made me feel so comfortable knowing he was happy and having fun. They were also super flexible with my pickup time, which I really appreciated. Shrek clearly had the best time because he came home completely pooped! I would absolutely recommend them and would happily have them watch Shrek again.”

“Noelle did an amazing job caring for our dog, Max, overnight! She took the time to schedule a meet and greet beforehand, which made us feel very comfortable and confident leaving him in her care. She showed Max so much love, patience, and attention, and it was clear she truly cares about the dogs she watches. I highly recommend her services and will definitely continue using her in the future!”

“Ryan was great with Lilah! Paired her up well with a sweet pug. Then brought her for a big walk, I could certainly tell because of how tired she was when we picked her up. I received so many updates and photos which really relieved us. Thanks Ryan once again for your expertise with dogs and making Lilah so comfortable so we could go discover Niagara!”

“My dogs had a wonderful time with Monique and her dogs. It was like Canada’s Wonderland for dogs. Would definitely have her watch my dogs again and I highly recommend her services.”

“Amanda was great taking care of Francisco. She was very responsive and sent multiple daily updates of Francisco. He seemed to have a really good time there and I definitely would book with her again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of all different kinds of pets since I was 10, specifically many dogs. I’ve also fostered/trained multiple foster dogs for the past 6 years and cared for my senior dogs and dogs with medical needs as well. I used to have 3 of my own but now a single dog owner to the most welcoming dog who loves to be around other dogs. If I’m not fostering or foster sitting, I’d love to sit for you and care for your pets! I do work, but have flexibility in my schedule to meet different needs. I’ll try to ensure we can keep your pets on their normal routines. I have a large fenced in yard with plenty of space to run around and a loving dog who’s used to welcoming all pets and humans. She’s also used to sharing all her things. Proper introductions always required.

JoAnn was AMAZING with our two pups! She took time to get to know them and make them feel right at home. This is so important for us as we got our one dog Coco during Covid and she can be a little shy at first. Joann kept us updated throughout the stay (including pictures) and promptly answered all our questions. She was also flexible with the pickup time which was very helpful as we were coming back from out of town. You could tell our dogs had a great time as they came home exhausted! We had total peace of mind that JoAnn had everything covered! Can’t say enough good things about her and will definitely be booking with her agin!!
Erica made sure that our babies had a great time! She was very patient with our little ones and was very communicative with updates. You can tell she really likes animals and makes them feel like hers. It’s great that she has a patio but she even took my puppies for a walk when she realized that my puppy felt shy pooping in the patio. My dogs came back happy and zero anxious from their stay.

Lauren was EXCEPTIONAL!! She had a great vibe when I met her. Her place was clean and cozy, so I felt totally comfortable with our dogs staying with her for six days and five nights. She was excellent with communication, quickly responding, updating and sending pics daily. I can’t recommend Lauren highly enough! 🐶🐶

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
