About: I have taken care of neighbours pets growing up, as well as having dogs and cats in my own home as a child. I currently have a cat and would love to care for others as my own. I work full time in the social services field during the week, but have evening and weekend availability to watch and/or care for your pets. My yard is fully fenced and have ample room to let your dog run around and have lots of fun. I can crate the animal as needed during sleeping hours.

“Carrie was beyond amazing! We rd can't describe how grateful I felt about Richard's experience with Carrie! First off, running into an emergency needing last minute accommodations had me in panic mode, she was able to take him the very next day. All my hesitation I had leaving my baby with someone I didn't know went away immediately after dropping Richard off. He was spoiled, loved, got a bath for getting a little to dirty playing, got snuggles and she even asked me for permission to take him to petco as they had ice cream day for dogs. Received photos, videos and Richard has 2 new buddies for life with Chester and Charlie! You won't be disappointed with Carrie, I won't vouch for many, but you and your baby will feel safe with Carrie while you are away! Thanks Carrie! I appreciate you so much!”

“Thank you Jenn & Brian for taking such great care of Rooney, just like last time. Thanks for all the pics and videos while we were away! Clearly he had a blast playing with your pups, and he also came home nice and clean!! 😀 You guys are the best!”

“We were a bit nervous leaving our 3.5 month old pup for a couple days but she was perfectly happy and so well cared for! I would 100% recommend Richard, he took time with our puppy and sent pics to let us know she was doing great. She had snuggles and outside time and even got to play with the dog he owns. It was very stress relieving to leave our pup with Richard, knowing she was being well cared for!”

“Sarah took great care of our baby fur Moka. She sent photos and update us regularly. It made our trip so much better knowing that Moka was being well taken care of. Thank you Sarah for your love and care of our Moka!”

“Courtney provided wonderful care for our dog during a lengthy two week stay. She was constantly in communication with us, sent an abundant amount of photos, and made sure our pup felt right at home. We will definitely using her again for future needs and I highly recommend her to others!”

“My dog Jordan was well taken care of. I highly recommend Raisa for dog boarding. She let me know how my pup was doing and sent pictures. She was very kind and I am grateful to have found her. Would definitely go through her again. 10/5 stars!”

About: I had two family dogs growing up for 12 years that we’re calm and easy to take care of, then I got my own dog who was the exact opposite. He had extreme behavioural issues, anxiety, epilepsy, and aggression. Taking care of him really taught me patience, added responsibilities, understanding and a different kind of love and appreciation as a caregiver. I’ve also fostered dogs which has given me experience with different breeds and needs. I now share custody of a 4 year old border collie/golden retriever mix who LOVES other dogs and people. We worked with multiple trainers with him and learned a series of obedience training, off-leash training, and much more knowledge regarding dogs. I work from home and make my own schedule, so I’m available to take care of, play with, and pay attention to your pup always! We have a half fenced yard and a huge park near us to take the pup out easily! We also have a 2.5 storey house with a basement for lots of room to play and wander. I work from home and make my own schedule so I have plenty of time to play with and pay attention to your pup throughout the day! I have a backyard and a front yard for easy bathroom breaks. There’s also a huge park beside my house to run and play at, plus a bunch of trails to go for long walks!
“Beverly was great! She sent several pictures of Lucy throughout the day. Very good communication. Lucy had a great time because she came home exhausted. Would definitely have Beverly watch Lucy again when we need a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve been a dog person for life — my first love was our family Golden Lab who proved that 15 year olds can still be puppies at heart. As an adult, I’ve volunteered extensively with shelters and training programs, and I genuinely love the company of a furry companion. I am currently studying for my US bar exams which means that I am home most of the day and looking for a reason to go on a walk. I have a secure, fenced yard and only welcome one dog at a time, so your pup gets calm, focused care and feels right at home. I’m also happy to use a crate if that helps your dog feel safe and comfortable.
“Stephanie provides a loving and caring home. Communication is outstanding and cared for my dog qs if it was her own. Will be booking with Stephanie for future trips”

“Shannon was AMAZING! She provided constant communication and showed us photos of her walks. Even when the dogs get tired she showed us that they had a nice relaxing stay. If I ever need my dog and my sister’s dog take care of, I know who to trust. Thank you!”

“Deborah did an amazing job taking care of Molly for the time she stayed there. I felt comfortable leaving her with Deborah and Molly seemed to enjoy being there too Highly recommended!”

“We were thrilled with our dogs’ visit with Noelle! She communicated so well with us, and our dogs came home calm and happy. I trusted her instincts with my nervous guy, and she seemed to know exactly how to help him. We will definitely be asking her for more care in the future!”

About: I have owned dogs all my life, and turned to fostering and dogsitting after college for shorter commitments. I have fostered over 15 dogs, including seniors, puppies, 70+ lb reactive dogs, and those needing medications. I have also catsit for friends and neighbors and cared for fish the last three years. I work from home so I'm able to be attentive to your pets, and I like to take 15 minute breaks to walk a few times a day. I have a puppy-proofed mudroom where we will hang out, and I live across the street from a bike path where I love to walk with a regular leash or long line.
“Excellent worry free care. Andreas is very relaxed and attentive. Home like atmosphere with an obvious dog lover. Walter liked him immediately at drop off and couldn’t wait to go inside and didn’t care we were leaving lol Traitor dog!!! Lol Not long after we left, Andreas sent us a video of the dogs playing. It put us at ease while leaving for vacation. He sent us some videos and photo’s throughout the week, it was nice. He asked the right questions at drop off. He texted us about a small growth he found while brushing him, we were aware of the skin tag thing, but nice he texted right away with a concern. And he brushed my severe shedder which is above expectations. We will absolutely use him to watch Walter in the future. Highly recommend”

“Dana was absolutely amazing from the beginning! Responded quickly and was very helpful. My dog definitely had a great time with her and she sent me updates. Would absolutely book with her again.”

“Monica and her children were great with Nova. Nova got lots of attention and I got great updates and pictures regularly on how Nova was doing :) I will definitely rebook with her in the future”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Niagara Falls
Zaira communicates quickly and thoroughly. Machete didn't want to eat his kibble so Zaira provided him her wet food after asking me, which he happily ate. Machete had a great time meeting new friends, and we really appreciate Zaira's flexibility with drop off / pick up time for boarding. She had only a few dogs (her own and possibly 1 other with machete) so he was able to acclimate more quickly. We will definitely use Zaira again when we're in the niagara area.

Couldn’t be more grateful for the care Darien and her family has given to our dog. From the moment we left, we felt reassured knowing he was safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. It was obvious through the updates and photos that he was happy, relaxed, and getting lots of attention and affection. The regular photo updates truly helped put us at ease and made being away from him so much easier. We really appreciated the kindness, communication, and level of care throughout the stay. We were so pleased with the experience that we’ve already rebooked for next month. Highly recommended!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Angie. ❤️ From the very first update, it was clear how much love, care, and attention she was getting. The detailed messages, thoughtful observations, and adorable photos gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. What amazed us most is how relaxed and happy Angie was during her stay. In the past, leaving her without us was always stressful for her, but this time was completely different. She clearly felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. Seeing her cuddled up, peacefully sleeping, enjoying walks, watching the neighbourhood from the balcony, and bonding with everyone absolutely melted our hearts. The patience, affection, reassurance, and understanding Genevieve and Alex gave her made all the difference. We could tell you really paid attention to her personality and needs. Thank you so much for treating our girl with so much kindness and love. We are beyond grateful and would trust you with Angie again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend! 😊🐾

Charlene took very loving care of my Twyla for an overnight stay at her home last month. Dora and Twyla hit it off really well! I was very reassured by the many updates and photos that Charlene sent over shortly after I dropped my pup off at her place. Twyla is a 11 months old and has selective hearing, but Charlene took it all in stride!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
