Pets have played a large part in my life since childhood, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart and home. Our family dogs Yogi (small poodle) and Brandi (Shih Tzu) were rescues. I learned everything important I know about taking care of dogs from taking care of them. Yogi was terrified of everything, even his own shadow, when he first came to us. At seven, it seemed as if he’d never really known what it was to be part of a family… or even how to be a dog. In deference to his anxiety I learned how to bathe and groom him myself and gave him the time and space to decompress as he needed. With me he learned how to walk on a leash, and how to trust humans and other animals. It took some time but he became the most relaxed dog who loved and got along with all people and animals he came across. Nothing fazed him. He was always happy to make new friends and loved a good walk. Brandi was a brave girl who had been with my best friend for two years before she joined my family. She had developed some nervousness and also needed a bit of time to settle and feel better. Brandi loved a good bath and blow out, adored walks, playing with kids and cuddles. They were opposites in almost every way. Brandi was all about being the center of attention and loved to show you she was in charge. Yogi loved basking quietly in the sun, in his spot on the couch and going with the flow of whatever the day brought. We lost them a few years ago now, to old age. When that happened we began a new adventure in fostering for a local rescue. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to foster quite a few amazing dogs, all of which have been adopted and are now living their best, happiest lives. Some of whom I now dogsit when their adopters have need. Over the years and in my various experiences I have come to understand that every dog has their own unique personality. They have their own preferences, likes, dislikes and needs. The trick is to take the time to learn what those are with patience and understanding. I am committed to giving the dogs I sit for exactly that along with the same love, time and attention I have always provided my own pups and every foster dog that has ever been in my care.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Angie. ❤️ From the very first update, it was clear how much love, care, and attention she was getting. The detailed messages, thoughtful observations, and adorable photos gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. What amazed us most is how relaxed and happy Angie was during her stay. In the past, leaving her without us was always stressful for her, but this time was completely different. She clearly felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. Seeing her cuddled up, peacefully sleeping, enjoying walks, watching the neighbourhood from the balcony, and bonding with everyone absolutely melted our hearts. The patience, affection, reassurance, and understanding Genevieve and Alex gave her made all the difference. We could tell you really paid attention to her personality and needs. Thank you so much for treating our girl with so much kindness and love. We are beyond grateful and would trust you with Angie again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend! 😊🐾
Genevieve and her son Alex were simply fantastic. From the initial meet and greet, and test run (night over stay to familiarize our dog with their space) they were kind, caring and very professional. Kiedis stayed for 10 days while we were on vacation and Genevieve always gave in depth updates around the stay accompanied by many photos. Kiedis is dog aggressive so they ensured that the space was safe for him, especially during walks in a dog busy neighborhood. They really care about providing the best care for the dogs they are looking after first and foremost. We will always trust our boy kiedis with Genevieve and Alex any time we have to travel.
Genevieve gave me excellent feedback about Chloe's visit. Chloe is rarely anywhere without me but I feel very comfortable leaving her with Genevieve and Alex. It was her second time there and they accommodated her joy of being outside and walking and sniffing the neighborhood. I highly recommend Genevieve as a caregiver for your dog. Her caring nature is just what Chloe needs. Thank you. Until the next time!
Oh my goodness, Genevieve and her son, Alex were fantastic with Jolene! We were in town for a couple of days to do the “touristy” stuff, and needed someone to take care of Jolene for the day. What a Godsend to find Genevieve, who is not only a true “dog person,” quite obviously, but a great communicator in getting this all set up. FIVE star Sitter for sure! We would definitely seek out Genevieve and Alex if we come back to the area because we know we can trust them with our girl.
My dog, Lily boarded with Gen for 3 nights and it was our first time using Rover for overnight stays. Gen was great with Lily! I really appreciated the long recaps of the day each night to see how she was doing and what her day was like. Also, Gen and Alex went above and beyond when she let me know that I forgot Lily’s bed time snack (bully sticks) and bought them for her so she could still have them. Just shows how much they really cared for Lily! Thanks Gen and Alex!!
We completed a day care visit with Gen prior to booking boarding days to get my dog, Lily comfortable in a new space. Lily seemed happy and very comfortable with Gen and Alex! Her report was very detailed which was really reassuring to know she was paying great attention to Lily throughout the day. Thanks Gen and Alex :)

Zeitplan
I work from home running a small online crochet business which allows the kind of flexibility necessary to adapt my routine to your dogs needs. When dog sitting I always have a meet and greet first in order for your dog to get to know me and my home and become comfortable in the space. Especially if they will be spending the night or boarding with me for any amount of time. During the meet and greet we discuss the routine your pup has and how I can best provide and care for them in my home. There is a nice big park directly across the street from my building, and a great neighbourhood with nearby trails that are wonderful for walks and socializing with the neighbourhood pups. A lot of the pups I have fostered really enjoyed people watching from my balcony door, which looks out directly above the back door of our building which most of my neighbours use. Also, I like to encourage bringing a favourite toy or blanket so they have something familiar and comforting with them, in case of separation anxiety. If boarding, I also encourage you to bring their food to avoid tummy troubles that sometimes come from a change of diet. Due to restriction for the apartment complex, I primarily am able to dog sit small to medium dogs and will not have more than two dogs at a time. My experience very much lies with the more nervous dogs who need a calm, peaceful environment, so if that described your furry friend I may be a good fit. That being said, I have cared for all types and temperaments so if you think I’m a good fit you’re probably right.

Much of the care will be discussed in the meet and greet. I am very flexible with care to meet the individual needs of each pup that comes into my home. Food, bathroom and walk routine, feeding schedule, grooming, preferred treats and type of play etc will be tailored to your dog as discussed ahead of time at the meet and greet.
Ein typischer Tag
I am currently set up to foster dogs so I have toys of all kinds to play with, from chew toys to stuffies and some enrichment toys. There’s a Starbucks within walking distance so pupaccino’s are always fun. I live within the bed and breakfast area of Niagara Falls, in a quiet neighborhood close to nature trails and the river. Walks are always a fun adventure with the added plus of some truly lovely neighborhood dogs that I am familiar with from when I used to walk my own pups. There’s plenty of opportunity to socialize in a safe and relaxed way, or not depending on what your dogs needs are. And finally, there’s always lots of cuddles and love for all the pups that come in to my home. Also, if your pup has special activities or games they love, I will do my best to incorporate those into the routine.
