About: I have taken care of dogs for a friend for a few years now. I also have experience with taking care of a local family’s 2 sweet dogs. I have been their go to for a few years now. I also have experience as a pet owner, I grew up with dogs my entire life, at one time we had a pack of 8. My goal is to ease your pet’s anxiety when their favorite person is not there. I will work to make sure your pet has the structure they need, the enrichment they crave, and the love they deserve. I do work full time Monday -Friday 8am-5pm so I am free on weekends and happy to stay with the animals when I’m not working. I can also check in on my lunch hour to ensure they have the restroom breaks they need and the enrichment time. I am very attentive when I am caring for you furry family members. I make sure that they have fresh water and get fed at the correct times. I always send photo updates each time the pets go outside or eat. I am very flexible with what is required if you’re able to be flexible and understanding of my work schedule.
About: I've had dogs since my 20s (already 40)they are the best companions. They are friends, therapists and best buddies. I want to take care of your doggie like it's mine. You will feel relax with Bertie and family care. I will make sure that are comfortable and enjoy a nice time. It fits perfectly, since I already have dogs and I work from home (flexible schedule). There is no problem in doing daily doggie routine for me. I enjoy walks with the dogs on the area. I have 4 dogs to make them company and have fun times. Also my kids love dogs.
“Danielle was amazing at loving on our pets, keeping to their routines, and sending us updates. We look forward to using her again and again as a sitter for our fur babies!”

“Rosey is amazing—totally responsible and professional. Our cat loves her. She got in touch Right away when our cat was not eating enough. We hope to hire her again in the future!”

“My fiancée and I feel like we’ve hit the jackpot after adding Abi to our lives! She came to our home before our trip to meet us and our girls, ask plenty of questions, and see how the dogs responded to her presence. She is warm and patient, and even our super anxious/epileptic dog took to her quickly (a rare occurrence). She was meticulous in reviewing our care instructions for our needy crew (two dogs on several meds). She texted us pictures while we were away, asked follow up questions, and truly put our minds at ease seeing how much she cared for our girls. We can’t thank her enough for the ways she impressed us, and hope to have her return soon!”

“Dakota, this review is written also as my gratitude. Thank you again for all your time and attention to my dogs for such a very long time (12 days!). They were content and happy when I got back. And the house was spotless! (You didn’t have to clean up!) I felt safe leaving them with you and deeply appreciated your daily updates and photos. I hope you and Spam would be willing to help us out again in the future 😊!!”

“We could not be happier with our experience having Samantha as a house sitter - she went above and beyond! She shared multiple updates with pictures each day, left the house spotless, and even took our young pup for trail walks which she loves. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again or recommend her to other pet parents looking for a house sitter!”

“Tessa stepped in at the last minute to take care of Kimi when another Rover had to cut the stay short by two days. We're very comfortable with Tessa and appreciate her willingness to help. This is the second time she has taken care of Kimi.”

“Kailyn took great care of our pets while we were out of town! She was very communicative and knowledgeable! We have one very big anxious boy who takes forever to get comfortable with new people and he was comfortable within minutes of meeting her!! We also have two outside asocial cats that loved Kailyn too!!!”

“LaTrice is awesome! She took great care of my pup while I was out of town for a few days. She’s really on top of things and super reliable, and genuinely loves spending time with your dog/cat/crew of animals. I will definitely be reaching out to her whenever I need a dog sitter in the future!”

“Tracy was an incredible house sitter! She took great care of our pup, left our home excellent condition, and was regularly in contact with us throughout our time away. I can't recommend her enough and we are certain to contact her again when we need someone to look after our dog.”

“Emily was fantastic! Sent plenty of updates and shared concerns so I could help guide which was important to me with my senior dog. Kept the house clean and dogs were super happy when I got home. Would recommend to anyone!”

“Christian went above and beyond all that was expected for our dog Murphy and for our home while we were away for a week and is truly the best. Christian is phenomenal, is so caring and pays attention to detail. Murphy loves Christian and was so comfortable the entire week - we were totally confident and comfortable knowing Christian was here for us while we were away! We could not recommend Christian more!!!!”

“Nathan was great! He house sat our mini Aussie for a weekend while we were out of state and went on multiple walks and was great with him! Highly recommend if you have a high energy dog!”

“Paige sat for our dog Dixie while we went on vacation for a week. She took great care of her and Dixie was chill and non stressed when we returned which means she had a great time. Paige kept us updated throughout the week and sent pictures. We’ll definitely reach out to Paige anytime we need a sitter in the future so don’t hesitate to book her for your pup!”

“You want Mackenzie taking care of your fur babies. She's stayed with our pup before, and when our pup saw her again she was thrilled! This trip we even had a weird weather that closed schools and Mackenzie was great. She helped to calm our concerns when we were so far away. We will certainly use Mackenzie again.”

About: I’ve always had animals in my younger life from cats to dogs, and even though I only have a cat I continue to love dogs. My current housing situation allows me to share dog sitting and caring of his clients dogs (ages 9 months to 14 years) for the last ten years. Since then I have asked my neighbors for tending to the needs of their dogs be it from a 5 mile walk on and off leash to a 100 yard potty break in addition to giving medications. I’m currently working part time three days a week and an occasional Saturday, so I have the time to care and interact for your furry friend. I live in a neighborhood with easy access to the Rivanna trails and a road trip access to a farm with woods in Earlysville for running in fields. I also have a very tolerant cat who actually enjoys dogs staying with me because she’s learned that visiting dogs often get a treat she’s earned one too. My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.
North Downtown pet parents share their Rover experiences
Kailyn was simply incredible. Right before our trip out of the country, our dog, Ginger, got sick. Kailyn stepped in and took care of Ginger like she was her own. She nursed her back to health and sent daily pictures. She also took the time to make sure our three cats were happy, too! We highly recommend Kailyn to other pet parents and hope to use services again in the future, she was amazing.

Our dogs were in great hands with Tessa! Tessa was very patient with the our 3 dogs and provided such great care of them. Her updates and attention to detail and care for the dogs gave me much ease while we were gone. I would happily and confidently recommend Tessa to anyone!

Bailey is awesome! She tended to our 8 week old puppy and 5 year old ferret within a weeks notice. She is very professional, understanding, attentive, and asks good questions. She also sent us pictures while on the job which made me feel at ease. With Bailey, you can be rest assured your fur babies are receiving the best care available! We will be continuing care with her.
