Information Danielle C. would like to know about your pet
Before pet sitting, it’s essential to gather specific information about each pet to ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being. Here are some key areas to cover: • Daily Routine: Understanding feeding schedules, walk times, sleep habits, and any other routines helps maintain consistency, which is reassuring for pets. • Dietary Needs and Restrictions: Knowing exactly what and how much they eat, along with any allergies or restricted foods, is crucial for keeping them healthy. • Medical Needs and Emergency Contacts: It’s important to know if they’re on any medications, have health conditions, or need specific treatments. Also, having emergency vet information and the owner’s contact details is essential. • Behavior and Personality Traits: Learning about their temperament, favorite activities, fears, and dislikes helps me provide better care. For example, some pets may be shy around new people or have specific triggers, like loud noises. • Preferred Commands and Training Cues: Using familiar words and gestures helps reinforce good behavior and makes the pet feel more comfortable with me. • House Rules and Allowed Spaces: Understanding where they’re allowed to go (like furniture, certain rooms) and any household rules keeps both the pet and the home in harmony. • Socialization and Interaction with Other Pets: If there are other pets around, knowing their socialization level helps ensure positive interactions. This preparation allows me to provide the most personalized and attentive care possible.
A typical day
When caring for pets, I love incorporating a mix of fun and engaging activities to keep them happy and stimulated. Some of my favorite activities include: • Playtime: I enjoy using interactive toys, like balls, ropes, or feathers, to encourage movement and play, especially for pets that love a good chase. • Walks and Outdoor Time: For dogs, daily walks and time outdoors are essential. I vary our routes to keep things interesting, sometimes exploring nearby parks for a new environment. • Training and Puzzle Toys: I incorporate simple training exercises or puzzle toys, which keep pets mentally stimulated and give them a rewarding challenge. • Snuggle and Relaxation Time: Many pets appreciate a balance of relaxation, too, so I always set aside time for gentle grooming or cuddle time, depending on the pet’s preferences. • Safe Exploration: For small animals like rabbits, I set up a safe area for them to explore outside their enclosures, giving them room to hop and discover. Each activity is tailored to the pet’s personality, ensuring a balance of exercise, stimulation, and relaxation.

Long-Time Pet Lover and Caregiver
Pet care experience
I’ve signed up for Rover in honor of my soul dog, Rascal, who crossed the rainbow bridge in June 2024. My grief seemed insurmountable and with encouragement and love I decided to sign up for Rover as a caregiver. Now, I am honored to share the love I would’ve given him, with your pets. Thank you for considering me to care for your pets and helping to keep my grieving heart happy and his legacy alive. I’ve cared for multiple dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters since I was 10 years old. I’m used to caring for multiple pets at once. I am an empathetic and in tune caretaker who anticipates and pays close attention to the needs of your pet.
