“Bertie and Lissette's family were amazing! They took great care of my puppy and were very responsive and easy to communicate with. I will definitely contact them again the next time I am in Charlottesville.”

“Tessa stepped in at the last minute to take care of Kimi when another Rover had to cut the stay short by two days. We're very comfortable with Tessa and appreciate her willingness to help. This is the second time she has taken care of Kimi.”

“Kailyn took great care of our pets while we were out of town! She was very communicative and knowledgeable! We have one very big anxious boy who takes forever to get comfortable with new people and he was comfortable within minutes of meeting her!! We also have two outside asocial cats that loved Kailyn too!!!”

“Danielle did an amazing job taking care of our very new puppy! She handled everything that a new puppy throws at you very well. Our home and new family member were in great hands with Danielle.”

“Our dogs fell in love with Nathan right from the start. He was great taking them out for walks, feeding them, playing ball with them, and cuddling with them. We will definitely use Nathan again!”

“Rosey did an awesome job housesitting our three large, energetic dogs for five days. She has sat for us in the past, and we have always had great experiences. Our dogs love her!”

“Out of towner: Abby was amazing at watching our dog for the first time as we came to town for an event. She was so easy to communicate with and took extra great care of our dog for the night. Wish we lived closer so we could use her again!”

“Dakota, this review is written also as my gratitude. Thank you again for all your time and attention to my dogs for such a very long time (12 days!). They were content and happy when I got back. And the house was spotless! (You didn’t have to clean up!) I felt safe leaving them with you and deeply appreciated your daily updates and photos. I hope you and Spam would be willing to help us out again in the future 😊!!”

“Mackenzie was wonderful - I highly recommend her! She was very attentive to ensuring she had my pup's feeding schedule/plan, his walking routine, and other information to make him feel well cared for. She truly provided him loving care - playing with him, noticing when he was confused about my absence, and giving him snuggles. She was very communicative and left the house so tidy as well. If I need a sitter again, Mackenzie is my #1 choice!”

“Kris was wonderful - I came back to happy healthy pups and a clean well-cared for home I would highly recommend Kris and wouldnt hesitate to have her house sit with my dogs when I go away next time Very caring and considerate - took out my trash and brought in my mail too!”
“Christian was absolutely excellent! Lots of good communication. Our two dogs loved her from the meet and greet and we feel confident we have someone to watch our house and dogs while we’re away in the future. Also took excellent care of the house. Highly recommend!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life. Throughout middle/high school, I volunteered with our local SPCA and was able to gain more experience in learning different traits and behaviors of dogs. During this time, I assisted with a program that allowed members of the community to come in and learn more about dog training; this allowed me to gain greater experience into the proper ways to train a dog. Throughout my time in undergrad, I frequently dog sat/walked for the residents and attendings at our academic hospital. I have worked with dogs of all ages and sizes, who have had variable care and medical needs. Currently my family (my parents) has three rescues at home. They are my favorites (obviously haha) and you can find Apollo dressed up many times in the pictures up here! The dogs live with them though in a different state (that’s why i clicked no on « do you have any pets). I’m currently a preparing to start my first semester as a full-time grad student; however once the semester begins, my schedule remains highly flexible and will allow me time to engage in pet care! I have a lot of availability on the weekends, but also plenty of time during the weekdays to fit in a walk or to pet sit. While I do believe that socialization is an important part of a pet’s life and development, during my time with them, we will remain to ourselves and avoid interactions with other animals (unless you would like them to engage in that manner). Safety for everyone is one of the most important components to caring for pets, so if you have any rules in place (i.e. crating or off limit areas), I am more than happy to ensure they are followed during our time. One of my former pet parents (and friends) was a certified dog trainer, so I have a lot of experience in adapting to your pet’s lifestyle and giving them the enrichment they need, in a safe manner :)

About: I have a dog of my own. I will make sure yours is well taken care of. I am passionate about animals and will do what it takes to meet their needs. I am currently unemployed so I will have plenty of free time to care for your pups. I am available anytime and am pretty flexible. I take my dog on walks. I feed her twice a day and take her out 4 times a day. I am definitely knowledgeable when it comes to dogs.
“Samantha really cares about the pets she looks after. She stayed with our pups for several days and sent great updates. The pups seemed relaxed and happy in all of them and were equally relaxed and happy when we got home. Samantha left the house in great condition, even laundering the sheets and towels she used.”

“James did an awesome job with our Pisgah! James gave our pup so much exercise and attention that she was the happiest and most tranquil I’ve ever seen her after we’ve left her with a sitter. Highly recommend, will book again!”

About: I’m a public interest law student with experience caring for many types of active dogs, including a Samoyed, Malinois, pit bull, and foxhound. I’ve also fostered kittens, puppies, and senior dogs. I love staying active and make sure the pets in my care get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I’m responsible, communicative, and happy to provide photo updates. Please reach out if you think I’d be a good fit for your pet! My schedule is very flexible schedule this semester, which allows me to provide consistent walks, feeding times, and attention. I also live very close to the school and parks, allowing me to stop by frequently throughout the day when providing boarding and day care services. I communicate closely with pet parents and am happy to send regular photo and message updates so you can feel confident your dog is well cared for. I follow any instructions closely, respect your space, and communicate any issues on the spot.
“Tracy was an incredible house sitter! She took great care of our pup, left our home excellent condition, and was regularly in contact with us throughout our time away. I can't recommend her enough and we are certain to contact her again when we need someone to look after our dog.”

“Rachael was fantastic, asked all of the right questions including ones I forgot, sent us tons of pictures, and we came back to two happy boys :)”

Kailyn took care of my senior dog in my home for 4 days. She followed my daily instructions, gave medication, sent daily photos and walked her twice daily. I left on my trip knowing that my dog would be well cared for. She also took in the mail, kept the house clean and I came home to a happy dog! I would definitely book Kailyn again!
With Hennessey I had every confidence my kitties and home were in good hands -- and I relaxed and had a great trip. Hennessey communicates very well, asks good questions, and seems to genuinely enjoy the little ones. During her stay she let me know when there was a minor kitty health concern. I came home to a beautifully clean house --- really helpful with jet lag. I would be happy to have her back another time.

Danielle did an AMAZING job taking care of our kitties. One of them needs a lot of medication but that didn’t seem to phase her. They were well taken care of, got very comfortable with her in a short period of time, and we got a lot of adorable pictures. We will definitely be hiring her again.

La Trice was absolutely amazing from our very first meeting. Our newly adopted little beagle immediately took to her- which speaks volumes, as he is very wary of "strangers." She exudes kindness, compassion and clearly has a deep, intuitive understanding of animals. She is super responsive, kept us updated, cared lovingly for our animals and left our house in pristine condition. Our dogs were so calm and happy when we retuned home. What a gift!! We feel so blessed to have found her!!

Rachael is amazing! She was really thoughtful about knowing each of our pets (1.5 year old dog and 4 year old cat) personalities and taking such good care of them. Rachael was incredible about playing with them and having fun. She was also extremely thoughtful about the care of our home and tending to our pets routines and helping them feel at ease while we were away. We are so grateful for her!

Jen takes such good care of our dogs and guinea pigs and spoils them rotten! They get so many great treats from her, they get upset when we get back and don't give them as many! She takes great care of the house and leaves everything so clean and neat. I highly recommend her!
