“TLDR: Giselle is amazing with both immediately friendly dogs and reactive dogs who need longer to warm up. Giselle was amazing with both of our girls! We have a labradoodle who is a true velcro dog and a terrier mix who is not a fan of strangers. We went through rover because we wanted our dogs to start getting used to new people. I was extremely nervous about leaving our terrier mix with someone new. She's not a biter but she does bark and charge at strangers who go near her. We scheduled a meet and greet a few days early with Giselle and she stayed until the terrier settled. During the actual drop ins, at first the terrier did not want to go to Giselle at all but Giselle was patient and sat with her to show her she was safe. By the second or third drop in, the terrier was not just okay with Giselle but genuinely excited to see her! We were so relieved that our dogs were comfortable while we were away.”

“Shea-Lyn was fantastic taking care of our cat. He’s elderly, needs attention and medication twice a day. She confirmed his medication intake and played with him for a while which he really loved. Will definitely book her again!”

“Julie is wonderful with Ikaros and Daisy. The meet and greet went great. Julie will be doing some drop-ins before our vacation. We have such a peace of mind knowing the pups will be well cared for. Thank you Julie! 🐾🤍”

“Tatyana did a drop in visit for us and was great. We have a high energy puppy and she was calm and kind. She sent pics of the visit which we loved. I will use her again.”

“Kourtney was great with my dogs and always kept me informed with plenty of pictures. My dogs loved playing with her and she really took the time to keep them active and entertained during her 30 minute visits. I already have our next visits scheduled.”

“I was so worried about finding someone to face Raurie and get past her without getting hurt. My rescued Bully is more than particular about who she allows in the house and yard. She has never bit anyone but she does grab pants cuffs and shirt sleeves to let folks know who is the boss. Alexa has the patience, skill, experience and courage to recognize Raurie's bluff and move past it. The fact is, this was the most relaxing time away I've had in years. Thank you!”

“Christine was absolutely fantastic. This was my fiancée and I’s first time using Rover, so we were honestly a little skeptical about the whole process at first. Christine immediately put us at ease during the meet and greet and took the time to get to know Eli. During the visits she kept us updated and made sure Eli was well taken care of, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Eli loved her, and it was clear he was comfortable and in great hands. We’re very grateful for the care she gave him and would absolutely recommend Christine to anyone looking for someone reliable, communicative, and genuinely great with dogs.”

“My cat usually doesn't come out of hiding for people she doesn't know, but Ariana took the time to get her to come out with cat treats and lots of patience. Greatly appreciate the work she did!”

“Jazlyne was amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure that my pet was taken care of in my absence. My pet took to her really quickly which is unusual for him. I would book again.”

“Moriah does a great job on her drop ins. Even after the time period was over, she was messaging me to make sure I got back from my trip and when I was slow at responding, she was about to go over to the house to make sure that my cat got her medicine that she needs at the same time everyday. I really appreciated that.”

“We have used Amina a few times to watch our dogs and she has been amazing! She is very thorough and takes the best pictures of them! My dogs love her and she takes wonderful care of them. We’ll continue to use her!”

“Wow! Jacquie was amazing! First time using Rover and she set the bar HIGH. She gave so much love and attention to my dogs and went the extra mile to ensure they’re happy and cared for. Extremely professional and communicative. There was never a shortage of photos of my babies and they were always happy. She has such a kind soul as well. Overall an amazing human and amazing sitter. If she were local to me I would be booking with her all the time! Thanks a bunch form Missy & Dude too!!”

About: I’ve had pets growing up and have been responsible for pet sitting for friends and family recently. I want to incorporate spending more time with animals. I work Monday through Friday but I am available to pet sit and house sit every weekend. I incorporate the pets routines into my schedule as needed. I try to make new pets as comfortable as possible when they are visiting. When at a client’s home I do my best to be respectful of the home and of the pet. I clean up as necessary and love to play with them.
“Have a bit of a complicated job with a senior dog who needs medication and a 200gal saltwater fish tank that needs feeding and monitoring but Tori rose to the occasion. I returned to all of my complicated babies well taken care of and happy!”

This was our first time with Mirella, and she was super attentive and communicated well. She was so kind and had great attention for our kitties. She’s very proactive and knows how to deal with situations in the best way possible. We are so grateful she agreed to take care of our boys!! Definitely recommended booking your next visit with her 🥰.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
