“Shea was great with our cat! She was a great communicator and understood how to handle our older cat. Our cat can sometimes be a bit cranky when we get back home but this time he was much more relaxed because of the time she spent with him.”

“Cecilia did an amazing job. She was on-time, followed the directions we left and gave extra snuggles to my fur babies. She will be our go to person moving forward. I appreciated her ability to wiggle the schedule and be flexible with my changing plans.”

“TLDR: Giselle is amazing with both immediately friendly dogs and reactive dogs who need longer to warm up. Giselle was amazing with both of our girls! We have a labradoodle who is a true velcro dog and a terrier mix who is not a fan of strangers. We went through rover because we wanted our dogs to start getting used to new people. I was extremely nervous about leaving our terrier mix with someone new. She's not a biter but she does bark and charge at strangers who go near her. We scheduled a meet and greet a few days early with Giselle and she stayed until the terrier settled. During the actual drop ins, at first the terrier did not want to go to Giselle at all but Giselle was patient and sat with her to show her she was safe. By the second or third drop in, the terrier was not just okay with Giselle but genuinely excited to see her! We were so relieved that our dogs were comfortable while we were away.”

“We had a last minute change of plans for an event and needed a dog sitter to drop in for us. Thanh was available, responded very quickly, was very communicative of any questions or how the dogs did, and played very well with them. We definitely will be using her for as long as she is available!”

“Tatyana did a drop in visit for us and was great. We have a high energy puppy and she was calm and kind. She sent pics of the visit which we loved. I will use her again.”

“Ashley did a fabulous job house sitting and taking care of our cat and dog. Her love of animals is clear and she’s great at communicating with you. Highly recommend!”

“Evelyn was an absolute great sitter, had to make a rush trip and needed a great person to care for the kids and she showed how great of a pet lover she was, genuine, caring and off course professional, I’m great to know our babies was in her care, she will always be my go to. Thanks again”

About: I have taken care of dogs for at least 22 years as my pets. I have had a Yorkie, Sharpei, and now a Boxer. I have taken care of puppies and senior dogs. Hands down, dogs are better than humans. I am the resident dog sitter for my fiends and my friends love to watch my dog because she is so well mannered and trained. I look forward to helping you with your loved pup. I am currently not working so I am home the majority of the time. I leave to run errands and my Mother lives with me as well. I have a fenced in yard and water is always available indoors and outdoors. There is nothing in the home that can harm our pets because I keep the house free of clutter. When they play with toys or have treats (if permitted), I keep my eyes on them to make sure there are no mishaps.
About: What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, and ability to adapt to each pet’s unique needs. I have experience caring for both energetic puppies and senior pets who require extra attention, gentle handling, and consistency. I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training, maintaining routines, administering medication if needed, and watching closely for changes in behavior or health. I treat every pet like my own, keeping owners updated so they feel confident and at ease while they’re away. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine because I have open availability. I’m able to provide flexible scheduling for walks, feedings, playtime, medication, and check ins at any time of day. This allows me to give pets consistent attention and adapt to their normal routines, ensuring they feel comfortable and well cared for. I focus on creating a safe, calm, and trusting environment for every pet. I carefully follow owner instructions, secure doors and gates, remove potential hazards, and maintain a clean space. I use gentle, positive handling to build trust and make sure pets feel comfortable and at ease. Whether in my home or a client’s, I treat the space with respect and ensure pets are always safe, supervised, and well cared for.
“Cari is amazing! Super communicative always made me feel like my babies were in good hands. Even found their pups coats and bundled them up against the cold weather. I am so greatful!!!”

“Tatiana was so helpful and thoughtful when watching our cats! She went above and beyond when caring for our fur-family, and she made sure to send a picture of each cat during each visit, which gave us great peace of mind. I will definitely be booking Tatiana again in the future to watch our cats when we travel!”

About: New to the pet sitting scene, but have always loved pets! Would love to take care of yours and give them all the love and treats! I am currently on leave from work, so I am available more often than not. I am willing to come morning, or afternoon. Thank you! I have a fenced yard. We go outside often and also go on walks when the weather is on our side! Love playing fetch with dogs and giving all the love!
“Looking for a pet sitter you can trust? Look no further! Alexa is AMAZING! She was very sweet and patient with our pups especially our hyper active one. She has great experience with all types of animals. Gave us great tips to help with our high energy pup, communicated efficiently with arrivals and departures, and most importantly our boys LOVED her. Will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Paxton is a literal lifesaver; flexible, responsive, accommodating, and so incredibly kind to my two kitty loaves. She leaves highly detailed, laugh-out-loud updates on the app and is always willing to go the extra mile with adjusting thermostats & adding or taking away check-ins as needed. Highly trustworthy and absolutely recommend to anyone seeking truly quality caretaking for their animals! 💕”

“My cat was diagnosed with diabetes 2 weeks before my vacation. I was an emotional wreck and needed to find someone to take care of my baby while I was out of town. I scheduled a meet and greet with Melissa and instantly fell in love with her vibe. She took care of my fur baby for 3 and a half days. She came twice a day to feed and administer my cat insulin shots and cleaned her litter box. She made me feel comfortable and at ease with every check in appointment with detailed notes on how everything went. My cat is very standoffish, stubborn and a brat when I’m not around. I appreciated her patience and she wasn’t afraid of my kitty at all. She cared for my baby as it was her own. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that’s in need of a cat/dog sitter. She has earned my trust and I will be sure to book with Melissa in the future. THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH FOR THE LOVE AND CARE YOU GAVE TO MY BABY !!!”

About: I’m dependable, patient, and truly love animals. I take time to understand each pet’s personality and adjust my care to fit them. I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies who need consistency and gentle guidance, as well as senior pets who require a slower pace, extra care, and close attention. I pride myself on being trustworthy, communicative, and making sure both pets and owners feel at ease I work from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the day. I already love going on walks and enjoy spending time outdoors, so caring for pets fits perfectly into my daily routine. I also volunteer at animal shelters in my free time, which has strengthened my experience and comfort working with animals of all temperaments. Because I’m home most of the day, I’m able to give pets consistent attention, timely walks, playtime, and care without rushing. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all care instructions and keep a clean, calm, and secure environment in both my home and my client’s home. I’m attentive on walks, use secure leashes, and closely supervise pets at all times. I treat every pet with patience and every home with respect, and I always provide updates for peace of mind.
“Gladys is outstanding! She is incredibly caring, detail-oriented, and delivered so much information and pictures that we were entirely confident and assured during our trip. Our cats immediately felt safe and secure and came out for pets (they both can be shy and do not readily show themselves at all!). We recommend Gladys with the highest recommendation and are scheduling two more trips! Highly recommended with total confidence. Thank you so much Gladys!”

“This was my first time using Rover and Suzanne was an absolute angel for my cat. Besides doing the basics of scooping the litter and feeding him, she also washed out his bowls when they got dirty. She meticulous and careful and showed my fur baby so much love. 💕”

About: Love taking walks, follows a schedule and takes care of pets as if they were my children. Dogs deserve to feel loved and wanted. I have potty trained my dog. I have a 8-5 job, Monday thru Friday but my spouse is home and can help with anything that is needed. Summer time my two teenage children are home. They both love any kid of pets and would definitely help take care of your pup. You would definitely have a village watching over your family. We have a fenced backyard, very specious area. Chapo our Pomerania is under 1 yrs old and has a kennel to sleep in. Levi our husky is about 5 years old and loves to have friends. He has a large kennel for bed time and loves to play in the backyard. We do have a baby gate blocking the second floor of the house since we don’t let the dogs go up there. We have the gate to prevent any injuries when they would both run up and down the stairs. As long as your pup can get along with other dogs they are welcomed. We have boarded other dogs for friends when they had getaways. No issues!!!! My teenage daughter took care of the dogs as if they were her baby.

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
