About: Hello, I'm Clara! I'm a college senior home for the summer, looking to help out fellow pet owners. I've taken care of a myriad of pets, all with different personalities and temperaments, throughout my entire life (dogs, cats, chickens, horses, etc) I love working with animals, big or small, and will ensure the safety and happiness of your pets! I have complete availability, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups and give them my full and undivided attention! In addition to walking your dogs around the neighborhood or playing in the yard, I can drive to many nearby walking routes. I live at home where we have a large, fully fenced yard with plenty of both shade and sun. We have 2 friendly dogs and 2 rarely seen cats. The neighborhood is very walkable, and the beach is closeby!
“Courtney is the BEST! She is communicative, kind and showed so much care and love to my cat Sir T. She asked questions I hadn’t even thought of because she wanted to make sure she was providing thorough care. Thanks so much Courtney!”

“Cheryl was a great comfort to my two kitties while I was away. One cat in particular is very timid and Cheryl found his hiding spot and still checked on him and sent photos. She made sure he at least enjoyed a treat or two, which she gave to him by hand in his comfort zone. I appreciate her attention to detail and her flexibility in meeting me for key pick up before I left, when I should have had them ready for her during our meet and greet.”

About: I offer one-on-one attention: no rushing, no multitasking, just your pet. If your pet is a pup/kitten, senior or any age in between, your loved one will receive the utmost care, patience, gentleness and consistency. From our very first meet and greet, I focus on learning your pet's specific routine, quirks, and comfort cues, so that by the time a booking starts, they're not just "watched," they're understood. Every visit, whether it's a quick drop-in or an extended stay, your pet gets the same undivided attention. My love for animals started young, growing up in a house full of pets — dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, and fish — which taught me early on that every creature has its own personality and needs. A couple of notes: I currently care for dogs up to 40lbs, and I require a meet and greet before every booking, no exceptions — it's how I make sure your pet feels safe with me from day one. Ask for VIP services include mail and delivery package pickups, coordinating pet care directly with live in house manager, etc. Fully fluent in English and Spanish. Service areas include Greater Los Angeles, UCLA area, DTLA, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Bel-Air, Malibu, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, and Ventura. I’m semi-retired and have a flexible schedule. To walk, sit or take care of a pet as well as I take care of mine would be a joy. I often pet sit friends’ pets when they travel on vacation or business. I’m go-to person to take care of pets while friends and family are out of town, busy at work, or they need to take pets to vet appointments. I also walk, sit and sometimes stay overnight with them. During 25+ years of doing so no one has had a complain about my care or how I handled their pets.

“Great vibe and super reliable sitter, she got the pups up and running around when all they wanted to do was lay on the couch as usual. We’ll use Ashley again for sure!”

“Always great when we book with Leo - very attentive and flexible. Good communication while we were away, and we came home to a very happy cat! Will book again, for sure.”

“Mike was great! We booked a meet & greet / paid drop in so he could spend time getting used to our home routine and our two cats. They’re both shy and one requires oral meds every 24 hrs. Mike was able to give the meds and learn the routine quickly :) we will hire him again for when we’re actually out of town!”

“Nicole was great and super communicative. I could tell my kitties were well cared for and I loved getting her pictures each visit. Thank you Nicole for loving on Franklin and Scout for us!”

“Stefanny was lovely to work with, she responded quickly to a last-minute booking request, and sent lots of photos of our senior cat while we were away. She gave us peace of mind that our cat was cared for, getting her medication, and eating well while we were gone.”

“Kathleen was super easy to communicate with and responsive. She jumped in to help us on very short notice when other cat care plans fell through. We felt comfortable knowing she had everything taken care of, and her daily check-ins were welcome reassurance that all was well while we were away.”

About: With seven years of experience and as a certified dog trainer I embrace working with all types of dogs, no matter height, weight, age, breed or behavior. I can use training techniques to teach dogs obedience and other desirable behaviors. Or we can just enjoy each other's company. I have basic study of canines and their learning theory. I’m an Animal Behavior College alumni, I have interned at The Best Friends Animal Shelter in Los Angeles, CA. Please feel free to ask any questions. I will be more than happy to answer them. A mentally and physically tired dog is very happy dog. My calendar is up to date so feel free to reach out if you have any last minute requests! I will do my best to accommodate. After playing catch, a long walk and some dinner your pup will be ready for bed. I’m happy to follow his usual sleeping arrangement whether its sleeping in a crate or on his bed to ensure he feels comfortable and safe.
“Wow! I’m super impressed with Leah and her love of our dogs. Our puppies love her and the time she spent with them. I’ve used her from drop ins and overnights and will use her again in the future. She’s spends quality time with the dogs and gives them her full attention. She also walks them and takes them on adventures to the dog parks and beaches.”
“She is an excellent sitter for our two cats. This was our second time and we will happily hire her again in future. She goes above and beyond; in the warm weather she visited an additional time just to make sure our cats weren’t too hot. We are comfortable traveling with the knowledge that our kitties are in good hands.”

“Second time working with Benjamin to check-in on my cats while I was out of town. Benjamin was great at communicating updates and cats were happy to have some interactions while I was away.”

“Anna was wonderful with our Scout! It was her first time with our pup and she took such good care of him. He’s a reactive dog and she did a great job taking him out for his walk and then playing with him in our room. We will be scheduling with Anna again!”

About: I can't remember a time without a furry friend by my side. I literally came home from the hospital to a wagging tail—my family's dog was my first welcome committee, and that set the tone for my entire life. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to share my home with cats, and have owned two amazing dogs who kept me on my toes and filled every day with joy. Each pet has taught me something new about patience, unconditional love, and the unique personality that makes every animal special. My love for animals extends beyond my own four-legged family. I'm a proud supporter of the Santa Barbara Humane Society because I believe every animal deserves a loving home and compassionate care. Giving back to the animal community is something I'm deeply committed to. When you trust me with your pet, you're not just hiring someone who loves animals—you're connecting with someone who understands that pets are family. I treat every dog, cat, or critter in my care with the same love and attention I would give my own, because that's what they deserve. As someone who's self-employed, I have the flexibility to give your pets the time and attention they deserve. I recently said goodbye to my beloved companion, and while I'm not quite ready to welcome a new furry friend into my own home yet, caring for other people's pets has been incredibly meaningful. It keeps me connected to what I love most while giving me the chance to shower someone else's best friend with all the love and care they need. I live in a cozy casita with a secure, fenced patio area—perfect for outdoor playtime and fresh air. Since I work from home, I'm around throughout the day, which means your pet gets plenty of companionship and supervision. I'm also an active person who loves getting out, so regular walks to the park, beach, or around downtown are part of my routine. Your furry friend will get both the comfort of a home environment and the adventure of exploring Santa Barbara's best spots.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
