About: Hi! My name is James and I used to have a dog named Banks who I first adopted back in 2015. I took care of him for many years until we had to sadly put down. My girlfriend and I love to take care of dogs as she currently works at an animal hospital and she always tells me about her experiences there. I’ve taken care of animals ever since I was 10 and I am currently involved at 4 Paws for Ability where I volunteer with service dogs. I am a current college student so my schedule is very flexible during the summer and I can accommodate you and your pups needs! I’ve been handling dogs for years and currently walk and sit multiple dogs around my neighborhood. I love all furry friends and would love to be able to take care of yours! I’m currently working part time, but I have a very flexible schedule. I am free all day on weekends and would love to spend my time with your pups! About: I have had my dog now for almost 10 years. I used to care for my dog as well as a roommates dog at one point. I can give medications and can provide First Aid/Heimlich if needed. Strong enough to hold back and tame my 60 pound Boxer mix. I’ve also helped care/walk my sisters Great Dane and my friends smaller dogs for 7 years or so. I love animals and if you have other little friends who need care, just let me know what to do and I’ll do it. I work night shift as an ICU Nurse so I’m home all day. I can pop in and check on your babies any time during the day. I would need to know in advance only cause I do eventually sleep during the day. About: I have been watching dogs for a while. Watched 4 dogs at once. If you need me to stay overnight i will for the dogs When i had my dog we took care of her. Walks grooming. Let her be by my side when bedtimes comes around. Miss watching pets Prefer their house. So the pet feels more at home instead of not knowing the surrounding. About: I have over 13 years experience doing vet assistant and vet technician tasks and skills as a volunteer at The Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL. I have been employed as part of the membership and philanthropic department at Lincoln Park Zoo from which I learned a great deal, stemming from my biology classes on taxonomy to zoology, to specific animal facts and conservation of threatened animals. From what I've read from the anthropologist book "Inside of a Dog" by Alexandra Horowitz, animals, especially dogs, crave human attention so being attentive to an animal's needs is to me, what's most important. This includes communicating with animals to know when they need a bathroom break, when they want play, when they want affection and cuddles, when they want nappy time, being fed according to what their schedule is, and of course, offering healthy treats (if allowed) and new novel smells, toys, etc. I can manage 4-5 walks per day with one or multiple dogs at a time 5-6 days a week. This is my main job and I'm dedicated to providing top care as if they are my own. I take extra care to be a courteous and contentious guest in the owner's home. About: I’ve owned many dogs and have taken care of and pet sit for my family and friends. I really enjoy the company and the energy that animals bring. I will match that energy that they have.
