About: I have over 13 years experience doing vet assistant and vet technician tasks and skills as a volunteer at The Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL. I have been employed as part of the membership and philanthropic department at Lincoln Park Zoo from which I learned a great deal, stemming from my biology classes on taxonomy to zoology, to specific animal facts and conservation of threatened animals. I therefore know a great deal of educational background on animal behavior. I studied psychology and comparitive human psychology/animal behavior with a bachelors in science from IIT. I have grown up with dogs, cats, and ferrets. At Southwest Animal Care Center, I bathed, fed, walked, medicated, and cared for boarding and patient animals. I graduated with my veterinary assistant certificate in 2018. After graduating from IIT, I became a kennel attendant and learned a great deal about how to care for animals. Pet care is a daily task for me as I take care for two little fuzzbutt ferrets, Icarus and Agatha. Icarus often wakes me up with his bushy tailed excitement. I'm lucky to have such wonderful critters in my life. Right now, I am only offering dog walking and off-site at client's home services. From what I've read from the anthropologist book "Inside of a Dog" by Alexandra Horowitz, animals, especially dogs, crave human attention so being attentive to an animal's needs is to me, what's most important. This includes communicating with animals to know when they need a bathroom break, when they want play, when they want affection and cuddles, when they want nappy time, being fed according to what their schedule is, and of course, offering healthy treats (if allowed) and new novel smells, toys, etc. I can manage 4-5 walks per day with one or multiple dogs at a time 5-6 days a week. This is my main job and I'm dedicated to providing top care as if they are my own. I take extra care to be a courteous and contentious guest in the owner's home. I treat my stay with respect and humbly care. You can trust me to provide excellent care and keep everything tidy and clean.
About: Ive owned so many variety's of pets from cats and dogs to gerbils, hamsters, mice, and turtles from 8-18 years old. I love animals and will always put their well-being first in any situation. I grew up with a dog, and spent 15+years with my beloved baby Shiba Inu Kenji. He had one eye, lots of arthritis, kidney issues, and half his teeth in the end but was full of life! Very familiar with meds and schedules and special needs, natural food etc. Not ready for another and didn't know much about this service. I wish l'd have known, so let me help YOU! Weekends I may have some things to do but will prioritize where needed. I do not have a crate, but you can provide. About: I've had dogs in my home for 10+ years. I have been trusted to watch other people's 4 legged friends while on vacation. They are safe with me! I'm currently in the process of getting a job. I'll need to figure out my schedule so I can make time to walk the dogs. We have a fenced off area in our backyard. In the rest of the yard, I make sure dogs stay on their leashes. My flexible schedule makes it easy to accommodate your pet’s routine—early mornings, midday walks, or evening check-ins included. I live right off 93rd & Pleasant in North Beverly, with a huge yard where your dog can safely play, explore, and chase a ball (or two). It’s a secure, peaceful space that’s perfect for outdoor time. I’m also just steps away from the Dan Ryan Forest Preserve—ideal for nature walks full of fresh air, trails, and plenty of exciting things to sniff. Whether your pup needs adventure or a calm environment, I’ve got it covered. Your pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priority. I follow all care instructions, never leave pets unattended outside, and send regular updates so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands.
“Monae took such good care of my senior dog, Kai. He has trouble walking and so it's great that he can go directly outside to the backyard. She was also really good about switching his inside and outside shoes out which I really appreciate. 10/10 will book again!”
“Dominique was AB-SO-LUTE-LY Fabulous!!! She treated my babies like her very own (even calling them by their "cutesy" baby names when she scratched them under their cheeks and behind the ears). She created a safe, loving and clean space for them... allowing them to thrive. Truth be told, I'm kind of jealous that they "took to her" so quickly and didn't miss me more (our first time separated in 11 years). Knowing Dominique was taking such great care of them, made the stressful time I was going through easier to manage.
