About: Ive owned so many variety's of pets from cats and dogs to gerbils, hamsters, mice, and turtles from 8-18 years old. I love animals and will always put their well-being first in any situation. I am currently a student at Fox working towards my Veterinary Technicians License. I speak Spanish and English! I am currently a full time student-but am available between the hours of 5pm-9pm after school hours and available between 6am-8pm on weekends. I know precisely how to read and animals body language and know when something is wrong. An animal can let me know when they feel uncomfortable and I can let the owner know right away. I have handled many shelter animals and pets and can know when something is not right or if they feel uncomfortable.

About: I have had and been around dogs since I was a child. Dogs seem to come to me naturally; without fear or hesitation. I honestly believe this is because I approach them with ease and am not forceful. It seemed like a natural step for me to join the Rover community. Ive also been a dog owner and currently have Jazzy who is my beloved Boston Terrier Mix with a big personality and sweet nature. Jazzy and I chose each other and its been an adventure ever since day one! she loves everyone but at times can be a little bossy. I'm well aware of who runs the household! I pride myself on ensuring that Jazzy stays healthy by giving her quality food and treats, Along with that she enjoys her fenced in yard and takes daily walks. We have lots of playtime and cuddles. I'll treat your dog as I would my own. That is my motto as I don't want you to worry or be concerned when you are away from your precious fur baby. I can't replace you, or would never try but rest assured your pet will receive all my tender loving care. I have had the opportunity to care for some dogs on Rover who have become regular clients. The owners have told me that they reach out to me first and hope that I am available. That is a huge compliment and I'm honored that I made such an impact on their four legged friend. All the pets I have met have their own unique personality and what I do as a sitter is simply take them for who they are which includes any little quirks. Canine or human, we all possess them. About: I have over 13 years experience doing vet assistant and vet technician tasks and skills as a volunteer at The Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge, IL. I have been employed as part of the membership and philanthropic department at Lincoln Park Zoo from which I learned a great deal, stemming from my biology classes on taxonomy to zoology, to specific animal facts and conservation of threatened animals. I therefore know a great deal of educational background on animal behavior. I studied psychology and comparitive human psychology/animal behavior with a bachelors in science from IIT. I have grown up with dogs, cats, and ferrets. At Southwest Animal Care Center, I bathed, fed, walked, medicated, and cared for boarding and patient animals. I graduated with my veterinary assistant certificate in 2018. After graduating from IIT, I became a kennel attendant and learned a great deal about how to care for animals. Pet care is a daily task for me as I take care for two little fuzzbutt ferrets, Icarus and Agatha. Icarus often wakes me up with his bushy tailed excitement. I'm lucky to have such wonderful critters in my life. Right now, I am only offering dog walking and off-site at client's home services. From what I've read from the anthropologist book "Inside of a Dog" by Alexandra Horowitz, animals, especially dogs, crave human attention so being attentive to an animal's needs is to me, what's most important. This includes communicating with animals to know when they need a bathroom break, when they want play, when they want affection and cuddles, when they want nappy time, being fed according to what their schedule is, and of course, offering healthy treats (if allowed) and new novel smells, toys, etc. I can manage 4-5 walks per day with one or multiple dogs at a time 5-6 days a week. This is my main job and I'm dedicated to providing top care as if they are my own. I take extra care to be a courteous and contentious guest in the owner's home. I treat my stay with respect and humbly care. You can trust me to provide excellent care and keep everything tidy and clean.

“I was able to find Jennifer quickly on the Rover app. I chose her by her profile and her close proximity to where I live. She responded very quickly to our request thru the app. She came for a short visit so we and our doberman could meet her. I wanted her also to feel comfortable with our large dog. We needed someone to come a couple of days around midday to fed, potty, walk and play our very active 8 month old 60 lb dog. We had her come for an hour each day. It was also the first time we were leaving her all day. Jennifer did exactly what was asked and says she looks forward to helping us out again. I know we will use her in the future.”
