“Annie did a terrific job taking care of my cat. She shared regular updates with pictures through her whole stay, followed feeding instructions perfectly, and took good care of my home. She will definitely be my top pick for any future trips I need to take as long as she’s available!”

“Autumn is such an amazing dog sitter, I wish I could give her a 10 star rating! She takes such good care of our 2 dogs, so much exercise and love while we are gone. She’s a gift to doggy parents!”

“Acacia was amazing with my dogs, they loved her! She was timely, thoughtful, playful with the dogs and sent great pics. Can’t wait to have her house/dog sit again!”

“Anja did an excellent job with our anxious senior lab. She got creative about helping her eat, which has been a challenge for us lately, and our dog ate better for her than she does for us some days! Her communication was clear and at a perfect frequency for us, and we came home to a happy healthy calm pup. She was timely in her arrival and did everything as expected. She was respectful of our home as well.”

“Abigail took such great care of our pups and the house. Clear communication, asked great questions, so considerate of our senior dogs, sent photos, and the dogs loved her!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for pets has always come naturally to me - my sisters like to call me an animal whisper :) I grew up helping take care of cats and dogs for family, friends, and neighbors, whether that meant feeding them, taking them on walks, playing with them, or just keeping them company while their people were away. I also have grown up with animals of my own! Including a 26 year old frog lol! I know how much pets feel like family, so I’ll always treat yours with the same love, patience, and attention I would want for my own. I’m gentle, reliable, and happy to follow whatever routine makes your pet feel the most comfortable — no matter if they are full of energy, a little shy, older and slower, or just need someone to sit with them and give them love. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and loved while you’re away, and I’m always happy to send updates throughout my time with them! I work part-time out of the house and part-time remote, so I have a pretty flexible weekly schedule. This makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my routine, whether that’s stopping by for check-ins, feeding, walks, playtime, or just spending time with your pet so they don’t feel alone. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I always do my best to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding instructions, walks, litter box care, medications if needed, and any rules you have for your home. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and make sure everything is left how I found it. I pay attention to details like locked doors, fresh water, clean bowls, and making sure pets are safe and settled before I leave.
“Tierney was wonderful! Did in home pet sitting for my puppy and 2 cats. Sent lots of updates, photos, and was more than happy to accommodate last minute extra things. Our house was left so clean you couldn’t even tell she was there. Would happily have her back!”

“Alex recently stayed at our house to take care of our Cocker (Cooper) as well as tropical fish. Cooper took to her right away. She obviously has a love of dogs. Many walks and pictures. No dead fish! Highly recommended!”

“I was totally at ease knowing Heather was staying with my dog who has special health needs, and the updates I received during my trip were reassuring. When I got home and saw how well my dog was doing I was more than appreciative that Heather was here for her!”

“Katie and Boyd did a wonderful job with our sweet Lucy. We were extremely nervous to use Rover for the first time, and they eased our minds. Katie and Boyd came to met Lucy prior to our trip away and asked for specific details on how to best take care of our pup. We highly recommend these two and will use them again in the future.”

“Shea was amazing! I usually have family watch my dog, so this is the first time I have had someone outside the family watch her. I felt very comfortable and at ease the entire time. Shea did an excellent job and went above and beyond. I will be using her services again in the future :)”

“Claire was absolutely amazing! This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. “Sammie did a great job watching my two big dogs (130 lbs bullmastiff and 75 lbs goldendoodle) for the weekend! She sent great updates with pictures and even took them to the dog park which looked like they had a blast! She cleaned up after herself and left the house in good shape. Would definitely have her back to watch the pups again!”

“debdatta was absolutely wonderful! I was out of the country for a week and she took care of my small dog and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to do so! debdatta has a very calming and gentle nature and made sure my dog felt comfortable in her home. She even bought my dog some different dog food since I had run out of the food one day. She kept me updated daily and was extremely responsive. Would recommend 10/10! :)”

“Jennifer was amazing. She gave us great peace of mind knowing that our two boys were taken care of while we were away. I really appreciated the pictures she sent with updates on how they were doing. Our dog is 15 years old and Jennifer was very understanding of his needs and quirks!”

“Kevin was really great with my trio of Dogs: medium, small and smaller. He gave meds and did all the things they like to do. He was very flexible with me in the flurry of getting out of town. I recommend him highly!”

“Mikayla was a fantastic sitter for my dog Skye, a mini Aussie, and came to our house for four nights. Skye is pretty apprehensive with strangers and can be reactive with strangers in our home. We did a meet and greet about a week ahead of time and walked around a lake while Mikayla was kind and patient, letting Skye take the lead in their interactions.By the end of the meet and greet, Mikayla was able to give her treats from her hand. Skye was SUPER excited to see her again when she came to our house day of - a huge sign that she connected quickly! Mikayla took excellent care of Skye and kept in contact with us through photos and updates. 🥰 Mikayla is such a great sitter and we’ll be using her again! Such a great experience for both dog and family.”

Abigail did a great job with our 10 year old dog who does not like change! She asked great questions when we met, communicated with me throughout her stay, sent cute pictures, and allowed us to enjoy our weekend away. I hesitated writing a review because I know anyone who books her will definitely want to book again!

Claire was absolutely amazing! This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was so quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and made us feel completely comfortable while we were away for the long weekend. She kept us updated throughout our trip and sent us lots of photos, which we absolutely loved! We will definitely be booking with Claire again!

Kara was fantastic. Our trip was almost a week and she did a great job with a 4 month old puppy. It was our first time leaving him for an extended period and we came back to a happy, healthy puppy. She gave him lots of great playtime and attention and left the house in fantastic shape, Her communication and attention to detail was also terrific. Will definitely use Kara again.

Katie and Boyd did a wonderful job with our sweet Lucy. We were extremely nervous to use Rover for the first time, and they eased our minds. Katie and Boyd came to met Lucy prior to our trip away and asked for specific details on how to best take care of our pup. We highly recommend these two and will use them again in the future.

Aziz did a fantastic job house sitting for our dog and two cats during a week-long family trip. He communicated so well and clearly, pays great attention to detail, and our pets were so well taken care of. It's also worth noting that our two cats are elderly and require a fair bit more attention and care than ordinary cats, and Aziz did a marvelous job meeting their needs. Will definitely book again for future trips. :)

Sarah takes such great care of our two dogs and gives us complete peace of mind while we were away. She’s thoughtful, reliable, communicative, and truly cares about the animals she watches. Our dogs absolutely love her, and honestly, I can’t imagine asking anyone else to care for them!

We had the pleasure of having Ellen dog sit overnight for our two dogs, who can be a bit high maintenance. She did an amazing job—taking them on walks, giving them plenty of love, and making sure all of their special needs were taken care of. It’s clear she truly loves dogs and treats them like her own. Ellen is extremely responsible, reliable, and friendly, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maple Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maple Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maple Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
