“Anja did an excellent job with our anxious senior lab. She got creative about helping her eat, which has been a challenge for us lately, and our dog ate better for her than she does for us some days! Her communication was clear and at a perfect frequency for us, and we came home to a happy healthy calm pup. She was timely in her arrival and did everything as expected. She was respectful of our home as well.”
“Sammie did a great job watching my two big dogs (130 lbs bullmastiff and 75 lbs goldendoodle) for the weekend! She sent great updates with pictures and even took them to the dog park which looked like they had a blast! She cleaned up after herself and left the house in good shape. Would definitely have her back to watch the pups again!”

“Londyn is very kind and did a great job house sitting my dogs, sent updates daily. On return, the dogs acted like I was never even gone; exactly what you’d like to see. Thanks Londyn!”

“Mikayla was a fantastic sitter for my dog Skye, a mini Aussie, and came to our house for four nights. Skye is pretty apprehensive with strangers and can be reactive with strangers in our home. We did a meet and greet about a week ahead of time and walked around a lake while Mikayla was kind and patient, letting Skye take the lead in their interactions.By the end of the meet and greet, Mikayla was able to give her treats from her hand. Skye was SUPER excited to see her again when she came to our house day of - a huge sign that she connected quickly! Mikayla took excellent care of Skye and kept in contact with us through photos and updates. 🥰 Mikayla is such a great sitter and we’ll be using her again! Such a great experience for both dog and family.”

“Autumn is such an amazing dog sitter, I wish I could give her a 10 star rating! She takes such good care of our 2 dogs, so much exercise and love while we are gone. She’s a gift to doggy parents!”

“Karen always takes such great care of Mika and our home! I can tell Mika is so happy by the photos she sends, and our home always feels so good when we get home. We are very grateful for Karen!”

“Elizabeth was amazing with our girls. She was very knowledgeable and gave us reassurance with leaving our girls. She provided updates and the girls did fantastic with her. Dogs know good people when they meet them and Elizabeth is Good people. Would definitely book with her again!!”

“Kristen cared for my pets like they were her own, and they loved spending time with her while I was away. Her communication is top notch; I got daily updates and could tell from the stories and photos that they were truly relaxed and themselves around her, which really allowed me to relax on my vacation.”

“Kelly was an awesome sitter for our dog with separation anxiety! It was our first time booking and she couldn’t have been more accommodating. Kelly sent frequent updates and photos to keep us informed while we were away. We’d recommend her to anyone.”

“Great experience! Stacey and her family saved us in a bind after all of our boarding places were full. Being new to MN, we don't have anyone to help out. After hearing good things about rover we tried it out. Stacey and her family were awesome. We loved the videos and pics and updates everyday, and it was so awesome to come home to the dogs instead of making another trip to get them. It was also so much nicer knowing that the dogs were home and in their comfort zone. Thank you guys! We will definitely be returning clients.”
“Justin was wonderful! Charlie and Margaret were so happy- we could tell from the pictures that Justin sent to keep us updated over the weekend. We will absolutely book him again!”

“debdatta was absolutely wonderful! I was out of the country for a week and she took care of my small dog and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to do so! debdatta has a very calming and gentle nature and made sure my dog felt comfortable in her home. She even bought my dog some different dog food since I had run out of the food one day. She kept me updated daily and was extremely responsive. Would recommend 10/10! :)”

About: We lost our Great Dane several years ago after having dogs for 35 consecutive years. I signed up for Rover to help fill that “pitter patter, tick tick of the nails across the floor and the wagging tails greeting me at the door” void. The friends we have made through Rover have brought so much happiness and filled a void that I didn’t know would exist. This is my third year on Rover and have made so many new pup friends! Our dog a had a lot of health and anxiety issues and that made it difficult to find the right care for him when we traveled. I hope to remove that obstacle for you and provide you and your pet what you need for a stress free vacation. I have owned or taken care of all kinds of dogs ranging from 5 lbs to 130 lbs and am ready to help you with your dog. I can’t say enough about how much my family enjoys the snuggles and smiles the dogs offer. They quickly become part of the family and we always look forward to when they will return for a visit! I am a very active person and enjoy spending time outside, Going on walks.etc. While I have returned to the office 4 days a week, I have family members home during the day who can help out with letting pups out. I have a large unfenced yard but a great neighborhood for walking. We have 2 kids still at home 14 and 18 who both love dogs.
“Acacia was amazing with my dogs, they loved her! She was timely, thoughtful, playful with the dogs and sent great pics. Can’t wait to have her house/dog sit again!”

“We could not have left our pup and our home in better hands. Deb was great with Jasper, and that's not an easy feat, as he is a big, rambunctious, and sometimes unpredictable guy. Our weekend away was stress free and we loved getting the photo updates from Deb. We are already dreaming of our next getaway, and Deb will be the first person we call to dog and house sit for us again.”

“Luckily for us, Angela was available for a last minute care and housesit for our Lucy. Angela was absolutely wonderful! She bonded with Lucy easily, kept to her routines and made sure she was given a lot of attention. We returned to a spotless home and a dog that was clearly happy and comfortable in her care. We would not hesitate to use Angela again. Super communicative, flexible and clearly cares about animals!”

“Alexis is the best sitter we’ve had! Communication while booking and during the sitting was always quick and clear. Our Aussie loves playing and Alexis spent a lot of time (more than us) making sure he got enough attention. He loved it. Our house was kept spotless and our driveway even shoveled - well beyond expectations. Plenty of GOOD photos were sent with smiling puppy faces. The stay was over New Year’s Eve and I didn’t even think about the fireworks but Alexis was sure to ask how they are and if they need anything special. I am very thankful our pups were taken such great care of and would definitely book again. Thank you so much!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Plymouth
Kaylee is a wonderful sitter. I left my pet for the 1st time and when I came home, my pet was in good spirits. Kaylee sent pictures and communicated with us often. I would definitely request her again, and Ihighly recommend Kaylee for whatever your and your pets needs are.
Molly did a wonderful job with our very shy 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. She took great care of him and stay in communication with me while we were out of town. The house was in order when we returned as well. Molly was very professional and responsive. I would definitely ask her to watch him again!!

We cannot say enough good things about Mollie! First time using a pet sitter for us. Mollie stayed at our home and took the best care of our three cats. She literally had my big bashful Maine Coon eating out of her hand. Literally 😹😹😹 Mollie knows how to work with cats and doesn’t force interaction which goes along way with them. Two cats were following her around basically the whole time she was here, a sleeping and snuggling with her. She sent plenty of photos and updates and was willing to accommodate anything we asked her to do. Tuna, Leo and Frank have been asking when we are going on vacation again so they can hang out with Mollie again😹
Sophia met our dogs multiple times over the course of two months so we would feel comfortable leaving them for an extended period of time. She did a great job walking our two large dogs and playing with our small one. She sent over videos and photos as well. The dogs were always happy to see her and when we came back we could tell that she really did a great job taking care of them!

Deborah stayed with our almost 14 year old dog for two weeks. She was a great communicator, asked questions when needed, and sent daily photos. She kept a consistent routine including administering medication and two walks a day. What a relief to know that Dandy was well cared for while we were away for so long!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Plymouth walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Plymouth maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Plymouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
