“Kristin patiently tolerated my anxious pup who greeted her with 30 minutes of barking upon daily visits. She knew what to do to create trust and followed troubleshooting suggestions from us. Kristin had 4 fur baby personalities to attend and did so with competence and grace. Excellent communication and photos provided! Do not hesitate to hire her; she'll always be my first choice for in-home care.”

“Kelly was an awesome sitter for our dog with separation anxiety! It was our first time booking and she couldn’t have been more accommodating. Kelly sent frequent updates and photos to keep us informed while we were away. We’d recommend her to anyone.”

“I am so happy to have connected with Isabelle on Rover! I've had some questionable sitters before and I'm so relieved to have found a reliable person with great communication! Will definitely be booking again. 🐾”

“Elizabeth did an amazing job caring for my pets. She clearly read and followed the instructions for my dog and cat. She was very communicative, respectful of my home, and tuned into their needs. I came home to happy and well-cared for animals. I recommend her services and will hire her again!”

“We could not have left our pup and our home in better hands. Deb was great with Jasper, and that's not an easy feat, as he is a big, rambunctious, and sometimes unpredictable guy. Our weekend away was stress free and we loved getting the photo updates from Deb. We are already dreaming of our next getaway, and Deb will be the first person we call to dog and house sit for us again.”

“Molly was the best! She sent us so many updates, photos and videos during our trip so we didn’t have to worry about Pucci at all. She went above and beyond, our place looked way cleaner than we left it. We definitely will book with her again!”

“Autumn was amazing with out 2 English setters- she handled medications wonderfully and gave them so much attention and walks! Our neighbor even commented on how great she was. Look forward to using her again!”

About: We lost our Great Dane several years ago after having dogs for 35 consecutive years. I signed up for Rover to help fill that “pitter patter, tick tick of the nails across the floor and the wagging tails greeting me at the door” void. The friends we have made through Rover have brought so much happiness and filled a void that I didn’t know would exist. This is my third year on Rover and have made so many new pup friends! Our dog a had a lot of health and anxiety issues and that made it difficult to find the right care for him when we traveled. I hope to remove that obstacle for you and provide you and your pet what you need for a stress free vacation. I have owned or taken care of all kinds of dogs ranging from 5 lbs to 130 lbs and am ready to help you with your dog. I can’t say enough about how much my family enjoys the snuggles and smiles the dogs offer. They quickly become part of the family and we always look forward to when they will return for a visit! I am a very active person and enjoy spending time outside, Going on walks.etc. While I have returned to the office 4 days a week, I have family members home during the day who can help out with letting pups out. I have a large unfenced yard but a great neighborhood for walking. We have 2 kids still at home 14 and 18 who both love dogs.
“Savanna was great with my pup. Provided lots of updates throughout the visit. She was also super helpful in bringing in mail that was delivered. I would highly recommend Savanna to those looking for a great provider.”

“I can't thank Kristen enough for the great care she provided for my 2 fur friends. My small dog doesn't like strangers, so, she's not easy to make friends with. Kristen sent me daily updates and photos, which made me feel more comfortable being away from home.”

“Justin was amazing with our animals! They really took to him right away, even our dog who doesn't like strangers. He sent pictures with them and they were all safe and happy. He was respectful of our home and accommodating to unexpected changes in our schedule. We will definitely be reaching out to him in the future. You made a very hard first time away from our puppy a care-free experience, which we would have never expected. Thank you!”

“Elaine took excellent care of our reactive pups! She watched them for 6 days shortly after we moved into a new house and handled the situation and their quirks like a pro. Will definitely contact her to watch them again in the future!”

About: I've been caring for animals my entire life and have experience with a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, lizards, and other reptiles. While I don't have professional pet care experience, I'm the person my friends, family, and neighbors trust whenever they need someone reliable to care for their pets while they're away. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether it's long walks, playtime, feeding, administering basic care, cleaning up after them, or simply keeping them company, I treat every pet as if they were my own 💛 I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry (or scaly!) family member, and I'm committed to providing dependable, compassionate care so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I currently work part time in the service industry and on my days off I love to be outside and mobile! My job starts at 6 am most days so even on days that I work, I end up having a lot of free time that I would love to fill working with animals 💛 Each pet takes time to get to know and gain trust! I am excited to meet your fur baby and take that special time to understand what makes them feel safe and happy.
“Great experience! Stacey and her family saved us in a bind after all of our boarding places were full. Being new to MN, we don't have anyone to help out. After hearing good things about rover we tried it out. Stacey and her family were awesome. We loved the videos and pics and updates everyday, and it was so awesome to come home to the dogs instead of making another trip to get them. It was also so much nicer knowing that the dogs were home and in their comfort zone. Thank you guys! We will definitely be returning clients.”
“Acacia was amazing with my dogs, they loved her! She was timely, thoughtful, playful with the dogs and sent great pics. Can’t wait to have her house/dog sit again!”

How fortunate was I to find Teresa. She provided all the TLC for my pups they needed and more. One dog has special medical needs and she handled them perfectly. I could tell from the photos she sent me that my pups were content and responded to her in ways only I would understand. Book Teresa and you will have assurance and peace of mind.
Molly did a wonderful job with our very shy 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. She took great care of him and stay in communication with me while we were out of town. The house was in order when we returned as well. Molly was very professional and responsive. I would definitely ask her to watch him again!!

Sophia met our dogs multiple times over the course of two months so we would feel comfortable leaving them for an extended period of time. She did a great job walking our two large dogs and playing with our small one. She sent over videos and photos as well. The dogs were always happy to see her and when we came back we could tell that she really did a great job taking care of them!

Deborah stayed with our almost 14 year old dog for two weeks. She was a great communicator, asked questions when needed, and sent daily photos. She kept a consistent routine including administering medication and two walks a day. What a relief to know that Dandy was well cared for while we were away for so long!

Delanie was a fantastic dog sitter for our puppies! They warmed up to her quickly and got lots of walks, which they love. Delanie was communicative and followed the schedule we left her, which was much appreciated! We’d absolutely welcome Delanie back into our home to watch the pups again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wayzata walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wayzata maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wayzata choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wayzata. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
