“Absolutely Wonderful ❣️ Mercedes & her family welcomed my SaxyPoo into their home 🏡 with big hugged & sloppy kisses👄. They kept him active with plenty of walks & play. Mercedes kept me abreast of my baby with a collage of pictures & messages. She is very organized & intentional about the care for each pet while demonstrating her knowledge of the family with homemade treats.”

“Rolanda was amazing! She sent me frequent updates and her dog was very compatible with mine. She treated my fur baby like it was her own. I definitely will use her again!”

“I am so happy with the service Ginebra provided for Bentley! She loved on him just as much as me and my daughter! I could tell Bentley loved spending time with her too! Ginebra, you have a new Fur Baby to add! Thank you so much for the picture of my baby, I love it 💖💖💖”

“I’m so glad I found David to watch my Sam. We are new to the area and I haven’t traveled in awhile. David is very responsive, conscientious and communicative. He sent lots of pictures and updates, let me know how Sam was getting along with his dogs. Sam has a knee injury right now and he kept an eye on it for me, too. We’ve already got a second stay booked.”

“Heather took great care of our girl, Ella, while we were away for a week! She sent daily updates and lots of photos. Heather was very responsive and accommodating and when our flight home was delayed!”

“Shani was the best choice for our fur baby! I was worried about leaving our baby, Stone, for so long, but Shani made me feel comfortable. She sent me pictures and communicated with me continuously throughout the stay. I could see Stone opening up and enjoying himself. I’m so grateful for her loving care and warmth. Shani is definitely like extended family now, and Stone won’t be staying anywhere else. If you care about your fur baby and want them to be well-loved, book with Shani.”

“Jess was great! Very responsive with clear communication. Lucy was spoiled rotten with snuggles and outside time. Jess sent tons of pictures and kept us updated with how Lucy was getting along with her friends. She even dropped her off at our house at the end of the puppy slumber party. Highly highly recommend!”

“Very professional, called ahead to gather more information and ask questions about my dog specifically, and was very open to any questions I had as a first time user. When I went to pick up my dog, he was excited to see me but also wanted to go up to Kassia and her family one last time before we left. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

I currently do home care blocks away from home. I have the ability to come home feed pups , walk them, and potty breaks during the day I spend an ample amount of time with each pup to get a personality feel so they can feel comfortable in my home away from their family. trust in me for the best care of your family member. because yes, we know they are part of the family.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lynwood
Janette was very good at communicating and keeping me informed of how my pet was doing. She provided pictures of my pet each day that she watched him for me. The atmosphere that she has created was very suitable for my pets needs. I will definitely recommend Janette to anyone needing someone to watch their pet for them. Overall, I am very thankful, and appreciative of the care that my pet received my being watched by Janette.

Jesus was fantastic with our puppy! He made our pup feel completely comfortable and at home right away. His communication was excellent—he was always quick to reply to questions and sent regular, reassuring updates throughout the stay. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter, and we will definitely be booking with him again. Highly recommended!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
