“Kassia is an excellent pet caregiver. Our goldendoodle, Sherby, is very attached to living with a family, and we were so relieved to have him stay in Kassia’s caring home while we were out of town. Already looking to book Kassia for our next vacation this summer.”

“Great relief, knowing my dog Barbie was in great hands for two weeks. Latasha would also send updates and pictures which really was really comforting to know Barbie was being well took care of. Would highly recommend Latasha to family and friends.”

“Tanesha was wonderful! This was Midnight's first time with a sitter, so we were very worried. Tanesha sent us pictures and videos of Midnight throughout her stay. I can tell that she gave Midnight her undivided attention. We were very pleased with Tenesha, she treated Midnight if she was her own. We would definitely use Tanesha again.”
“I recently had the pleasure of booking Kendra for a last minute weekend stay for my favorite fur baby Rogue. Kendra got back to me rapidly after I requested to book and immediately set up a meet and greet session in an area convenient for the both of us. She has very good energy and her natural love and care for dogs showed right away in how she greeted Rogue. She was very clear on her instructions for the weekend stay and sent ample updates and pics to make sure we knew that Rogues was being well taken care of during her stay. I would definitely book Kendra again, and felt that she did a wonderful job taking care of our dog especially with such short notice.”

About: I am an animal lover who has successfully raised both cats and dogs. Not only would I treat your pets as my own, but you will be updated frequently on the well-being of your pet. I enjoy all animals and have trained several dogs throughout the years. Before becoming interested in Rover, I have previously housed several dogs for friends and family members through WAG. I am currently home full-time and will be easily accessible. With allowing me to house your fuzzy loved ones, be prepared for a very nice, professional, loving, and safe experience for the both of you. I currently work from home so I will have ample time to be present and support your fur baby. Daily walks and treats are provided I have a large fenced in yard for play time. I also provide as many updates as you need; this includes pictures and videos of your pet.

“Doris was fantastic! She sent lots of pictures during the 5 nights she kept Bruno. While in her care he decided that he wasn’t going to eat his food that I left with her. Besides trying to hand feed him, she also cooked for him! I will 100% trust her to care for him again!”

“Megan did a wonderful job with my Lukey. When unexpected medical needs arose, she was still willing to watch him. She did an excellent job with giving him his daily medication and caring for his special needs. She sent multiple pictures throughout the day on all the many walks he went on. Megan is a kind and thoughtful sitter and I would highly recommend booking her!!”

This was my first time using Rover and I am so grateful I found Juliana. I was so nervous leaving my baby in the care of anyone for the first time on an extended stay. Juliana took such good care of my Benito! Her communication was great and you can tell she truly is an animal lover. I would definitely recommend her! Thank you for caring for my Benito! 🫶🏽🐈⬛

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
