OMG we went on vacation for three weeks and left our cat and our home in the care of Lilian, who was a rockstar. She took care of everything, followed all of our instructions and when we came home this time our cat was completely at ease. Usually when we return home from vacation, whether it's a week or longer and we have somebody stop in, we hear it from the cat for a good two weeks waking us up early in the morning rauling, but this time Bella just showed love and has been 100% normal. We would hire her again in our heartbeat. Best decision we ever made!

About: Animals have been a part of my life since I was a child—I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs, cats, and other pets, and I truly see them as family. I have two cats, Bleu and Theodore who are my absolute world, and I treat every pet I care for with the same love, patience, and attention as I give my own. What sets me apart from other sitters is my natural connection with animals and my commitment to creating a safe, calm, and happy environment tailored to each pet’s personality and needs. I have experience with a wide range of animals, including high-energy puppies, shy or anxious pets, and senior dogs and cats who need extra TLC. I’m reliable, intuitive, and attentive to small details—whether it’s sticking to a feeding schedule, recognizing signs of stress, or making sure your pet gets their favorite toy before bedtime. I go the extra mile to make sure your pet feels comfortable, secure, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, cuddles, or quiet companionship, I’m here to make your pet feel at home even when they’re not! Right now, pet care is my top priority—I’m not working another job, so I have full availability to dedicate to your pets. This means I’m flexible with scheduling, whether you need early morning walks, midday check-ins, overnight stays, or last-minute bookings. Because I’m not juggling other commitments, I can give your pet the time, attention, and consistency they deserve. I’m here to make your life easier and your pet’s day happier—every single time! When caring for pets in your home, I stick closely to your routines to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for just like you’re there. I keep things tidy, follow any feeding or medication schedules, and provide plenty of attention, playtime, and love. If your pet is staying at my home, I ask that you bring their crate, leash, food, and anything else that helps them feel secure and settled (like their favorite toy or blanket). I’ll make sure they have a cozy, clean space, regular walks, and lots of affection throughout their stay. Whether we’re out for a walk or having a quiet day inside, I treat every pet like my own—with patience, love, and care tailored to their personality and needs.

About: I’ve spent years caring for pets with patience, love, and attention to detail. My background in fast-paced customer service and healthcare has helped me become extremely reliable, organized, and calm under pressure; qualities that translate directly into excellent pet care. I understand that every pet has a different personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. What sets me apart is the level of care and communication I provide. I treat every pet like family, keep owners updated with photos and messages, and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, and affection while maintaining their routines. I’m also comfortable caring for energetic puppies, administering basic medications, supporting senior pets that need extra patience, and handling multiple pets at once. Whether your pet loves long walks, cuddles, structured routines, or just a calm presence, I adapt to their needs to create a stress-free experience for both pets and owners. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine as a part-time commitment. I’m currently available Monday through Thursday from 2 PM–10 PM for walks, drop-ins, sitting, and quality time with pets. During my availability, I make sure each pet receives attentive care, exercise, affection, and a comfortable environment tailored to their needs. I’m reliable, organized, and communicative, and I always aim to make pets feel safe and cared for while giving owners peace of mind through updates and photos When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free in their familiar environment. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, and household routines while making sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and supervision. I respect every client’s home as if it were my own by keeping spaces clean, secure, and organized. I also prioritize safety by monitoring pets closely during walks, avoiding unsafe situations, and ensuring doors, gates, and feeding areas are always secure. Communication is very important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos to give owners peace of mind while they’re away.

First time using Avery and she was wonderful! She arrived at the agreed upon time, communicated well and sent daily pictures of Ranger and Daisy. She followed instructions for feeding and engaged well with our dogs for play. When we returned our dogs were happy and had obviously been well cared for. Avery stayed at our house since our dogs do best in their own home. She left the house spotless. We will definitely book with Avery again.

About: As a lifelong pet owner and proud beagle mom, I know firsthand how important it is to find someone you truly trust with your fur baby. Growing up with pets my whole life has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior, body language, and what makes each pet feel safe and loved. I treat every dog I care for like my own — with patience, affection, and plenty of playtime. You can expect frequent photo updates and a happy, well-cared-for pup when you get home! As someone who works from home full time, pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. Your dog will never be left alone for long stretches — I'm always nearby for cuddles, playtime, and potty breaks throughout the day. I structure my work schedule around the pets in my care, ensuring they get regular walks, meals, and plenty of attention. Your pet will feel right at home! I'm comfortable caring for pets in both my home and yours, though I prefer to stay in your home so your pet can remain in their familiar environment with their own toys, bed, and routine. I believe pets are happiest and least stressed when they stay in a space they already know and love. In your home, I treat everything with the utmost respect — leaving it exactly as I found it. If hosting in my home, I ensure a safe, clean, and cozy environment where your pet will feel comfortable and loved. I'm attentive to pet-proofing, keeping hazardous items out of reach, and always supervising playtime. Your pet's safety is my number one priority!

About: Hello, my name is David. I am 30 years old and currently work for a manufacturing company in Salem, New Hampshire. I have been around animals my entire life and have a Portuguese Water Dog named Kelsi and a wire fox-hair Terrier named Nelly. I have always had a special connection to animals and treat them as I would people. I’m able to provide excellent references for the people whose animals I have cared for in the past. I come from a loving family where we are taught to always treat people with respect and compassion. I love the outdoors and would be absolutely fine walking your pet in the rain or snow. I am also a sturdy person so would have no problem with owners who have bigger pets. Hope to hear from you! I work in the evenings from 3-11 Wednesday-Saturday. I’m able to provide services in the morning throughout the week. If evening walks/care are necessary, I’m able to come by Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday While in a clients home, I would be completely responsible for there pet and the privacy of their living environment. I would never go into areas if the home where I am not supposed to be and would be only be concerned with the well-being of the clients pet.

So happy to have found Hannah! We have a very large irish wolfhound mix rescue dog who is very anxious. Hannah did a meet and great before our initial booking and she was terrific with him. Was very patient and calm and just let him drive the meeting. While we were away, she was very communicative and provided lots of pictures which made us feel very comfortable that he was being well cared for. She did all that was asked and even had to handle meds for our pup. With her experience and comfort level I won’t hesitate calling on Hannah again to take care of our Charlie.

About: Hi! I’ve loved dogs and animals for as long as I can remember. Being around animals has always felt natural to me — their energy, personalities, and unconditional love are something I truly connect with. I currently work at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I care for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. From energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and comfort, I’m experienced in providing safe, attentive, and loving care. My daily responsibilities include supervised group play, feeding routines, cleaning and sanitizing, monitoring behavior, and helping pets feel comfortable while away from home. Working in this environment has taught me how to read body language, manage multiple dogs safely, and respond calmly in any situation. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priorities. I genuinely love what I do — I’ve always been the kind of person who picks animals over people! Caring for pets isn’t just a job for me; it’s something I’m truly passionate about. I treat every dog and cat as if they were my own and make sure they feel loved, secure, and cared for while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! I am available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday. Just send me a message and I will most definitely find you time to fit you in I am very flexible I have a fenced in yard, lots of treats toys and bones, access to inside. She slept over for several nights and you wouldn't even know she had visited, everything was so tidy when I returned. When Nicole came back to drop off my keys, Gracie was so happy to see her. I would highly recommend Nicole!

Look no further, Laura is one of the best sitters you will find on Rover. I would like to keep her all to ourselves but she is a rare find, someone who cares for your pet like they’re her own. Laura always leaves the house in better shape than she found it and is super responsive and loving. We’ve tried other sitters when Laura is busy, and so far no one has come even close. Do yourself a favor and book Laura for a stress free vacation.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lowell

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Lowell on Rover is $52.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 6,305 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lowell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lowell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lowell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lowell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lowell. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
