About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, from small to large breeds. I’m dependable, attentive, and genuinely love caring for pets like they’re family. I work with a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day and week. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. Whether a pet is energetic and playful or more relaxed and routine-oriented, I’m happy to adapt to their individual needs. I follow each pet’s routine closely to help them feel comfortable and safe. I pay attention to feeding schedules, walks, medications, and behavior, and I provide lots of care, patience, and attention.

About: Hello! My name is Nixie I am 25 years old. I live in Los Osos on a horse ranch with my 4 cats, Fig, Fern, Miso and Spliff. I worked at an animal sanctuary for 5 years and I’m now a baker in Cayucos. I have experience with all kinds of animals! I am an easy going person, I love to do any outdoor activity as well as making music.I am very communicative and compassionate. I hope you choose me to help take care of your pet! Have a great day :) I work Sunday-Thursday 7-2ish so I take care of my pets and others pets outside that time. I enjoy spending most of my time around animals and with friends and doing any outdoor activities! I am very observational (as I’ve been told by many bosses) so I will make sure to be very aware of what your pet is feeling. I also am very communicative so will ask if anything comes up!

Samantha is the best! She was so flexible and willing to take our dog on late night walks while we were out at EDC. We trusted her with our hotel room key and the trust was put in good hands! Everything was just as we left it and she was thoughtful enough to leave the key card in our room after the last walk. We could tell our doggy was happy and well taken care of from both the photos and his demeanor when we’d come back. We got so lucky finding Samantha. Thank you so much!!

Elly has been very reliable taking care of our baby. My dog is a mix pittie and Elly has been working on better leash behavior. She writes the best reports after each walk. My pup is very happy to see her and I’m glad I found a great sitter since we are new to the area.

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for pets with different needs—from energetic puppies to older dogs needing gentle walks or medication. I’m attentive, calm, and detail-oriented, making sure every pet feels secure and loved while you’re away. You can count on me for reliable communication and genuine care every time. I'm currently working a part time job and available anytime after 4pm on Sundays and anytime before 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and free the rest of the week and very flexible on any time you need. My own two dogs, two decently sized border collies, one very energetic, one lazy, who have a whole backyard to themselves along with a kennel in the garage connected by a doggy door to the backyard! I feed them two times a day and walk them at least once a day, and constantly check their water bowls.

About: Over the years I've had many different pets, both personal and family ones. From older dogs who needed help going to the bathroom, to cats with nose sprays, to dogs with reactive behavior. I love them each individually, and my goal is to understand what your animal needs to make them as comfortable and happy as possible. I know how to do basic behavior training, not a professional by any means but I spent my free time teaching my childhood dogs tricks, and have helped raise multiple animals from their baby stages. I am currently unemployed, so I am consistently available throughout the week with few exceptions. My household already has a dog at home as well, so it's already part of my daily routine I will treat your pets like royalty. If you want me to stay there as much as I can to keep your baby company, I will gladly do so. Every animal I've cared for has had different feeding preferences, so I'll follow whatever schedule I'm given. If there's anything I'm at all concerned about, I won't hesitate to let you know. Even if it's a small issue, I believe you should be kept up to date on your pets. Our dog currently gets two walks a day, and eats refrigerated food. Nothing is "too much" in terms of loving your pets to me.

About: Our family members have been animal lovers our whole lives and have had a number of dogs and cats over our lifetime. Before kids we had 5 years of pet and house sitting experience. Based on word of mouth in friends and acquaintances. We will provide a nurturing environment where your pets feel like part of our family. As parents of three kids, we involve our children in daily pet care routines, teaching them responsibility and compassion. This hands-on approach ensures your pets receive personalized attention and affection. We understand that each pet has unique needs. Whether it's administering medication, adhering to specific feeding schedules, or providing extra playtime, we customize our services to ensure your pet's comfort and well-being. We believe in keeping you informed and are happy to provide updates and photos of your pets during our visits, so you can rest easy knowing they're in good hands. We are deeply connected to our local community. Our services are designed to support families and pet owners in our area, fostering a sense of trust and familiarity. Kids are in a hybrid homeschool program my husband works a remote job from home and I am a full time mom so we are in and out several times a day but rarely gone more than 30-60 mins at a time. Which means we are available for pet care at regular intervals majority of the day 7 days a week. We live on a one acre property set back from the road and fenced around the sides and back. We do have a gate that we put across the driveway at night to keep the deer out of the fruit orchard so we have the possibility of fencing the whole property by putting the deer gate up in the day. We have a separate fenced back yard off of our deck with dog door access from the living room of the house. We have 2 cats that have their own space in the garage with in and out access. And we have a 30 lb 16 year old dog named Ninja he is mellow and sweet and sleeps most of the day.

About: I’ve always been known as that person who animas just tend to trust. I’ve been told on many occasions how certain animals don’t like people but for whatever reason they give me a chance and I love when I get to show them love and prove that their fur babies made the right choice trusting me. Even when I was a baby I used surround myself with all sorts of animals because I love all of them so much. I hope to have the opportunity to give all the love I can to all the animals willing to give me a chance. I do take night classes Monday- Thursday typically from about 4-7 and I work Mondays and weekends. I’m very flexible but Tuesday-Thursdays are usually best. From how I’ve been described by others, I’m a very friendly, trusting, and loving person and everyone and their pets can expect that from me as well. As far as other peoples houses and everything I like to leave things the way I found it or better.

JOSH was great to work with. He was very prompt and also very flexible if a time needed to change on occasion. He and my dog, Shiloh, seem to bond quite well over the weeks that I needed JOSH‘s walking services. I highly recommend JOSH for taking care of your pet, without reservation.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
