About: I grew up with animals and have always had a special connection with them. I have worked with animals of all walks of life in an animal shelter & truly enjoy getting to witness their success. When working at the animal shelter I used to take dogs on walks and to the play pens where they would socialize with potential new families and other dogs. While they were in the play pens it was my job to ensure things ran smoothly and to deescalate any situations that might arise. Being able to celebrate in an animals victories and see how much they have grown & learned over time is like nothing else! I am wholly committed to anything your pet may need during our time together, no interruptions unless there is an emergency. If you have any questions about availability outside of my specified time frames please feel free to reach out and I will see what I can do! I would never do something to put your animals in harms way, I am incredibly thorough and will follow any specified instructions. If I have any questions about your pets needs I will be sure to seek clarification before taking any actions.

I had a great experience working with Darian. He walked my pooch for a full week while I was busy in meetings and couldn't walk him myself like we normally do. My buddy boy was happy and tired after a good strenuous walk (which he needs and loves!) and Darian even set his food dish down for me after the walk so he could have his breakfast. Thank you Darian, looking forward to the next time!

About: While going to college I walked approximately 10 dogs (individually) per month with occasional 3 dogs at a time. I’m comfortable with all size dogs; Chihuahua to Great Danes. If the dog likes to run, I’m up for that too. I like to be active and I know some dogs need a good run to get out their energy. I’m open to pet care. My house is pet friendly, and has a backyard enclosed with a 6 ft fence, gate that locks and a grassy area. I care for pets as if they were my own. I can give baths, make sure they are fed on time - including medication, and bathroom breaks, and most importantly walks or runs.

About: *MEET & GREET IS REQUIRED FOR FIRST TIME BOOKERS WITH Me* I have been working in the field as a vet assistant for almost 4 years now. I have immensely enjoyed caring for animals, and would love to continue that even outside of work. Both cats and dogs are welcomed; I do have 2 cats of my own. I grew up surrounded by cats, so I would say I have that feline touch. I understand that cats have vastly different personalities and may not want to be touched or played with. But if your cat happens to love playing and being petted, then I will happily meet those needs. I believe that open communication and transparency is important, so you’ll receive regular updates on your pets well-being while you’re away. I am skilled at administering oral medications and even subcutaneous injections, if needed. As well as caring for special needs and or elderly pets. I am trained in understanding body language and how to recognize signs of illness in pets. I am mostly available for walks, drop-ins, and house sittings. I have a part time job, and I am a student, so I will update my calendar regularly to reflect my availability to properly care for your pet. The safety of your pet is important to me and is a task I take very seriously. Your pet is in safe hands with me.

About: I have had a pet dog for several years in the past, and I more recently have been connected to households in my hometown neighborhood to provide petsitting care for 7 households so far. Having worked with aging and young dogs, and am able to administer medication and make sure they are nourished and able to exercise. I have also had the pleasure to care for chickens and cats. Additionally, I spent a year developing technician skills in professional pet grooming services in a veterinary setting. My passion for animal care began when I started volunteering with training and socializing cats and dogs at my local animal shelter. Last summer, I worked with baby birds at a wildlife clinic. After finishing school at UC Davis, I am still looking for part time or full time work. I am generally not busy outside the home for necessarily more than 5 hours at a time. I am available all week currently! I would be happy to care for your pet at your home, but am open to the discussion of any alternative arrangements. I am practiced at being a housesitter or dog walker.

About: Hi, my name is Matt, I’ve cared for pets for over 20 years and I would love to take care of your dog! I’m home all day, enjoy spoiling my doggie guests with affection, and have a large home and yard for lots of play😁 I have a friendly cavadoodle of my own, so ideally we like to host pups that get along with others! I work from home full time with a flexible schedule and am happy to accommodate any scheduling needs. I enjoy getting exercise with my dog guests in the morning by playing in the yard, taking a walk around the neighborhood, or taking a beach walk if allowed. Rest of the day is more play with me and my dog or if your pup prefers to lounge and relax after a ruff day, I can set them up to hangout with me separately while my dog relaxes in my spare room if needed. I have a very large, clean, safe and secure home and yard for dogs. I have ample space indoors, doggy beds available, and am happy to accommodate dogs health needs as requested. I also live 5 minutes away from a 24 hour vet hospital and have experience in identifying potential medical issues with dogs🏥 I work from home with a flexible schedule and and can hang out, play, go on walks, hit the park, or do anything else that your pup needs on the spot! When a dog arrives, I like to show them lots of affection and give them some sort of treat to help build some trust and companionship. I then like to give them a tour of the home like I would a human lol... Most dogs love sniffing around my large fenced yard and I always make sure to accompany them so that they can get used to me keeping an eye on them. From there, I usually like to be in the same room as my dogs at all times unless they are taking a nap on the couch and or want their alone time :)

About: I’ve had a few steady pet sitting/walking jobs in the last few years. I worked as a dog walker for an amazing woman in Malibu for her 5 dogs and walked 5x a week ~3.5 hours a day. I’ve also done many overnight stays in people’s homes for their cats/dogs when they are out for weekend getaways or longer vacations. I have my own dog (Stormy, Chow 2.5 years old) and absolutely love her to death! I’d love to spend time with your pets whether they just want companionship, walks, playtime, or hiking/beach adventures. I’ve had experience with high energy, low energy, various breeds, you name it. Send me a message if you have any questions to see if I would be a good fit for your fur baby. I am a full-time graduate student at Cal Poly but will have free time in between to do some dog walking or drop in visits. Coming into your home I will treat your pets just as I would treat my own, with all the love and care in the world!(: Each individual circumstance depends on the client’s and pet’s needs and will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Communication was great! Sarah is friendly and punctual. She was able to juggle my complicated schedule to get my dog out and walking. Also, she would call and let us know five minutes before she was done so we could greet her at the gate. She took some nice pictures during his walks. Highly recommend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
