“Stacey was amazing with our dog Buster! We are new to the area and it’s extremely comforting to know that we have someone we can trust and can count on! We will use her again and highly recommend her for your pets care.”

“My puppy, Miss Daisy, met Jennifer today. She has separation anxiety and is only 10 months old. I had no worries leaving my home and found her in great spirits upon my return. She paid extra attention to her with a couple of walks and lots of cuddling, too. Thanks, Jennifer, you will hear from me soon!”

“Caroline is the absolute best Rover sitter!!! I love being able to be away with complete peace of mind when she is looking after our pets! Thank you for all you do Caroline!!!”

About: I’ve been taking care of all kinds of dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I’ve always had dogs, whether it was our family dog or taking care of our neighbors and friends, etc. I have taken my dog to many training classes, gaining the knowledge and learning the proper ways to walk, treat, and discipline dogs. I have such a huge heart when it comes to dogs and I’m hoping I can share the love and get the honor to walk dogs in my area and give them the extra love that they deserve! I currently work from home, so as long as I am aware in advance, I can walk dogs at any hour of the day! I’m an early riser so an early morning walk is always available on my schedule:) Since I’ve owned dogs for so long, I am aware of the safety precautions that come with the heat, how other dogs can be aggressive, and the safety that comes with taking care of them.

“Mckayla did an amazing job watching my cat, Panda! She sent lots of pictures, played with her, and gave clear updates that made me feel at ease while I was on my cruise. Thank you again!”

“I am super happy to have found her on Rover; she is communicative, responsible, and loving with my pets. She stayed in contact and answered every question I had about them. I will definitely hire her again—I hope she never leaves Rover! I recommend her 100%.”

About: I am patient, dependable, and genuinely love working with dogs. I’ve volunteered many times at an animal shelter caring for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors dogs. I’ve also spend years walking and caring for my own dogs as well as dogs for my family and friends. I provide safe, great communication, and photo updates so you feel confident your dog is in good hands. Pet care fits naturally in my routine. As a college student with a part time job, I have a flexible schedule and am available most weekdays, weekends, holidays, and even early mornings or late evenings. I’m very active, so dog walks are something I genuinely enjoy. I have reliable transportation, accept both regular and one time bookings, and can often accommodate same day request. Whether it’s a long walk, a rainy day, or extra playtime, I’m happy to give your dog the care and attention they deserve. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect as my own. I follow your dog’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medications (with food), and any special instructions. Before I leave, I’ll make sure your dog is comfortable, has fresh water, and everything is secure. I’m trustworthy, dependable, and will always keep you updated with messages and photos so you know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: Since I can remember as a little girl, I’ve always had a passion & drive to take care of animals and really interact & get to know them. Each has their own personality that are just so fun to explore. From as small as anoles and 3 week old kittens, up to as big as Great Danes & large parrots, I’ve cared for everything and I love getting to know each pet! [small fee for meet & greets past 12 miles (~over 30 minute drive) for fuel, thank you!] Currently, my schedule is free! Looking to try to get into this full time, but anything dealing with animals is my focus! My schedule is very open right now and i’m open to anytimes! I will definitely get to know your pet first, go slow with them and just build a positive, playful rapport with them so they truly get to trust me. Anything you or your pet needs, please let me know and I definitely am so willing to make it happen! I care that your pet is comfortable and happy with me!!
About: If you have a puppy or a dog that needs a little extra help getting down the basics of sit, wait, leave it, come, or has trouble walking on the leash; i am your doggy savior! I do all my walks using the lose leash method, meaning the dog is more in "heel" then pulling or trailing behind. I love walking on hiking paths and trails as well as city and community walks. I always bring treats, water, and poop bags on my walks! I have an Australian labradoodle, Kingsley who is my service dog and loves other dogs! If you're interested in socializing your pup can have a playdate, he is a great friend. I can fully handle dogs of all sizes and ages and will follow all instructions left by you. I am trustworthy, reliable, and time and have a car, so I will be able to get to you, no problem. I work from home and love animals! Happy to play, train, and walk dogs. I have been pet sitting for 11 years and am very honest and loyal. I care for pets in clients home, walk, playtime, and offer puppy training. I thoroughly enjoy connecting with animal and supporting families. Please reach out if this seems to be a good fit :)
About: I grew up with dogs of all sizes ranging from weens to rotties. I have experience training puppies up to 2-ish years on basic commands, crate training, and socialization. I dont mind spending time walking around the block, throwing the ball for extended periods of time, or lying next to them for a period of time so that they feel loved, heard, and cared for. I do not groom. but if doggo needs a bath or brushing, I can give them a bath and brush. Our family is a poodle family, so I know the importance of keeping up with brushing. I also have cat experience. Almost 10 years ago, the Cat Distribution System of the Universe granted me Tigger, my Maine Coon. Though her, I learned how much cats genuinely better our lives. I love all furbabies and will make sure that they are well cared for when you are away. I am a teacher by day and a pet sitter by night. I am available between the hours of 4pm and 7am, with fairly open availability on weekends and holidays. I can house sit during the week while I work in the school, coming back on my lunch and planning period to spend time with your fur baby, if you are comfortable with that, also pending distance from the school. Feel free to reach out. Since I live in an apartment, I am unable to take your baby to my home. Rest assured, I will make sure that your pooch is walked (pooped and peed), loved, fed, watered, medicated (if required/needed), and safe. My priority is your baby. I treat all furbabies like they were my own, so that means they come first on my visit.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Longboat Key. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
