About: Hi! I’m Taryn! I’m an experienced and compassionate pet caregiver with a lifelong love for animals — especially rescues. Over the past 13 years, I’ve owned and cared for three very different dogs (a chihuahua, dachshund mix, and shepherd mix), so I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and boundaries. I’m comfortable adjusting care based on your dog — whether that means a short, gentle walk for a senior pup or a long, active outing to burn energy. I also have hands-on experience with dogs who have leash or food aggression, and I always approach care with patience, awareness, and respect for each dog’s comfort level. As of 6/1/2026 I have a Certificate of Completion from the American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid (online) In addition, one of my dogs, Shadow, has seizures, so I’m familiar with staying calm in high-stress situations, monitoring for symptoms, and providing attentive, responsive care when it matters most. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a pet who has extra needs. I’ve also helped care for friends’ dogs of all sizes and breeds — from small terriers to larger dogs like pit bulls — and feel confident handling a wide range of temperaments. About: I grew up with my brother's dogs and have been watching dogs professionally for the last three years. Just as happy to take a high-energy dog as a mellow old senior citizen. Even the stubborn ones :) I work from home as a writer and can give your pup lots of attention throughout the day. I take regular breaks to step outside to Washington Park or the fields and like to do a longer walk on the Bay Trail or Coyote Point once a day. I have a big grassy enclosed yard, too, with no dogs on the other side of the fence. If they like having a playmate, my brother’s dog Junior is three blocks away and always down to play. The yard is enclosed and I am home for most of the day on any given day. If they get cold easily, I’m happy to cover them with a blanket when they are resting. I’m a coldie too and like my house warm, so I get it! During hot days, the house stays mercifully cool, and I have a fan to help dogs with thicker fur.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for most of my life and pet sitting for families in my community for years. I grew up with cats, chickens, and very large dogs (mastiffs and shepherds), so I’m extremely comfortable with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. In addition to dog and cat sitting for neighbors, friends, and families throughout the Half Moon Bay, La Honda, and Pescadero areas, I also have professional experience working with animals. For three years I worked with horses in a therapeutic riding program, where I helped care for and rehabilitate former racehorses and support their training to become therapy animals. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of your space and follow all instructions carefully, from feeding schedules and medications to walk routines and house rules. I can’t lie, I’m a bit of a neat freak! I leave a home better than I found it. I’m attentive on walks, keep pets safely leashed, and make sure gates, doors, and fences are secure and locked upon leaving your home. I also believe communication is paramount while you’re away. I send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands.

I even grew up on a farm with a variety of other animals, until I turned 18 years of age to ride horses professionally. I genuinely love animals, and their care is number one.
