About: Hi! I’m Taryn! I’m an experienced and compassionate pet caregiver with a lifelong love for animals — especially rescues. Over the past 13 years, I’ve owned and cared for three very different dogs (a chihuahua, dachshund mix, and shepherd mix), so I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and boundaries. I’m comfortable adjusting care based on your dog — whether that means a short, gentle walk for a senior pup or a long, active outing to burn energy. I also have hands-on experience with dogs who have leash or food aggression, and I always approach care with patience, awareness, and respect for each dog’s comfort level. As of 6/1/2026 I have a Certificate of Completion from the American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid (online) In addition, one of my dogs, Shadow, has seizures, so I’m familiar with staying calm in high-stress situations, monitoring for symptoms, and providing attentive, responsive care when it matters most. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a pet who has extra needs. I’ve also helped care for friends’ dogs of all sizes and breeds — from small terriers to larger dogs like pit bulls — and feel confident handling a wide range of temperaments. I’m happy to provide: • Walks tailored to your dog’s energy level • Feeding and routine care • Medication (depending on type) • Baths and brushing • Calm, attentive care for anxious or special needs pets • Plenty of love and companionship Beyond dogs, I have 20+ years of experience with cats. I’ve volunteered with Homeless Cat Network and fostered for Coastside Feral Care. Fun fact: Every animal I’ve cared for or owned has been a rescue — I have a special place in my heart for them and understand the extra patience and care they sometimes need. ________________________________________ 🐾 Why pet parents choose me • Experience with multiple breeds and temperaments • Comfortable with reactive and special needs dogs • Firsthand experience with seizure care • Cat care expert with volunteer/foster background • Calm, patient, and highly attentive

Cordigen has looked after our two dogs 5 times this month, with the most recent visit being an all day plus evening care. She has proven to be the caregiver we hoped for. She is loving to the dogs, responsible, responsive and sends us updates during and after her visits. It is such a privilege to have a caregiver we trust, so we can focus on and enjoy activities away from our pets. We have appreciated her flexibility when our schedules have been in flux, as well as covering a last minute need. We plan to continue to request her services for all our pet caregiving needs.

About: I grew up with my brother's dogs and have been watching dogs professionally for the last three years. Just as happy to take a high-energy dog as a mellow old senior citizen. Even the stubborn ones :) I work from home as a writer and can give your pup lots of attention throughout the day. I take regular breaks to step outside to Washington Park or the fields and like to do a longer walk on the Bay Trail or Coyote Point once a day. I have a big grassy enclosed yard, too, with no dogs on the other side of the fence. If they like having a playmate, my brother’s dog Junior is three blocks away and always down to play. The yard is enclosed and I am home for most of the day on any given day. If they get cold easily, I’m happy to cover them with a blanket when they are resting. I’m a coldie too and like my house warm, so I get it! During hot days, the house stays mercifully cool, and I have a fan to help dogs with thicker fur.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for most of my life and pet sitting for families in my community for years. I grew up with cats, chickens, and very large dogs (mastiffs and shepherds), so I’m extremely comfortable with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. In addition to dog and cat sitting for neighbors, friends, and families throughout the Half Moon Bay, La Honda, and Pescadero areas, I also have professional experience working with animals. For three years I worked with horses in a therapeutic riding program, where I helped care for and rehabilitate former racehorses and support their training to become therapy animals. What sets me apart is how attentive and communicative I am while you’re away. I truly treat the animals I care for like my own, making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I also love sending photo updates and check-ins so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and well cared for. Caring for your pet fits perfectly into my routine, and I’ll try to keep their routine as familiar as possible. I work almost entirely from home, so I have a schedule that allows me plenty of time during the day for walks, visits, playtime, and check-ins. Because I’ve lived locally in the Bay and coastside all of my life, I’m also familiar with the area and can easily accommodate regular visits or longer stays. I additionally love to take pets out for hikes, shorter walks, and other outtings depending on their energy needs—I love looking after adventurers and home-bodies alike. I’m happy to build my schedule around what works best for your pet. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of your space and follow all instructions carefully, from feeding schedules and medications to walk routines and house rules. I can’t lie, I’m a bit of a neat freak! I leave a home better than I found it. I’m attentive on walks, keep pets safely leashed, and make sure gates, doors, and fences are secure and locked upon leaving your home. I also believe communication is paramount while you’re away. I send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands.

She kept us updated with pictures and messages, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Loki absolutely loved her, and it was clear she treated him like one of her own. We’ll definitely be booking with Jaime again — highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter! 🐾💛

She answered my last-minute request and took care of our two large German shepherds and one tiny dog perfectly - our dogs immediately fell in love with her, and usually they are an annoying, noisy bunch, but they behaved chill. Thank you so so much for taking care of them and I'd love to ask you to take care of them again.

About: Animal care comes natural to me, and I am the one who is always trusted with everyone’s animals. Throughout my life , I’ve consistently been surrounded with animals. I even grew up on a farm with a variety of other animals, until I turned 18 years of age to ride horses professionally. I genuinely love animals, and their care is number one. They deserve the best, and I work to always provide the best. I am currently available for any type of schedule at the moment. I will have plans for thanksgiving and Christmas, but willing to talk about a plan. I currently live on a small farm, that provides a fenced in back yard for my Great Dane. There are also empty fields , and creeks that I take her to.

FAQs for House Sitting - Loma Mar

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 6,955 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Loma Mar. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Loma Mar walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Loma Mar maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Loma Mar choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Loma Mar. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
