About: Hi! I’m Taryn! I’m an experienced and compassionate pet caregiver with a lifelong love for animals — especially rescues. Over the past 13 years, I’ve owned and cared for three very different dogs (a chihuahua, dachshund mix, and shepherd mix), so I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and boundaries. I’m comfortable adjusting care based on your dog — whether that means a short, gentle walk for a senior pup or a long, active outing to burn energy. I also have hands-on experience with dogs who have leash or food aggression, and I always approach care with patience, awareness, and respect for each dog’s comfort level. As of 6/1/2026 I have a Certificate of Completion from the American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid (online) In addition, one of my dogs, Shadow, has seizures, so I’m familiar with staying calm in high-stress situations, monitoring for symptoms, and providing attentive, responsive care when it matters most. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a pet who has extra needs. I’ve also helped care for friends’ dogs of all sizes and breeds — from small terriers to larger dogs like pit bulls — and feel confident handling a wide range of temperaments. I’m happy to provide: • Walks tailored to your dog’s energy level • Feeding and routine care • Medication (depending on type) • Baths and brushing • Calm, attentive care for anxious or special needs pets • Plenty of love and companionship Beyond dogs, I have 20+ years of experience with cats. I’ve volunteered with Homeless Cat Network and fostered for Coastside Feral Care. Fun fact: Every animal I’ve cared for or owned has been a rescue — I have a special place in my heart for them and understand the extra patience and care they sometimes need. ________________________________________ 🐾 Why pet parents choose me • Experience with multiple breeds and temperaments • Comfortable with reactive and special needs dogs • Firsthand experience with seizure care • Cat care expert with volunteer/foster background • Calm, patient, and highly attentive
About: I’ve been caring for animals for most of my life and pet sitting for families in my community for years. I grew up with cats, chickens, and very large dogs (mastiffs and shepherds), so I’m extremely comfortable with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. In addition to dog and cat sitting for neighbors, friends, and families throughout the Half Moon Bay, La Honda, and Pescadero areas, I also have professional experience working with animals. For three years I worked with horses in a therapeutic riding program, where I helped care for and rehabilitate former racehorses and support their training to become therapy animals. What sets me apart is how attentive and communicative I am while you’re away. I truly treat the animals I care for like my own, making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I also love sending photo updates and check-ins so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and well cared for. Caring for your pet fits perfectly into my routine, and I’ll try to keep their routine as familiar as possible. I work almost entirely from home, so I have a schedule that allows me plenty of time during the day for walks, visits, playtime, and check-ins. Because I’ve lived locally in the Bay and coastside all of my life, I’m also familiar with the area and can easily accommodate regular visits or longer stays. I additionally love to take pets out for hikes, shorter walks, and other outtings depending on their energy needs—I love looking after adventurers and home-bodies alike. I’m happy to build my schedule around what works best for your pet. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of your space and follow all instructions carefully, from feeding schedules and medications to walk routines and house rules. I can’t lie, I’m a bit of a neat freak! I leave a home better than I found it. I’m attentive on walks, keep pets safely leashed, and make sure gates, doors, and fences are secure and locked upon leaving your home. I also believe communication is paramount while you’re away. I send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands.
“Cordigen has looked after our two dogs 5 times this month, with the most recent visit being an all day plus evening care. She has proven to be the caregiver we hoped for. She is loving to the dogs, responsible, responsive and sends us updates during and after her visits. It is such a privilege to have a caregiver we trust, so we can focus on and enjoy activities away from our pets. We have appreciated her flexibility when our schedules have been in flux, as well as covering a last minute need. We plan to continue to request her services for all our pet caregiving needs.”

“Maria was amazing!! Cannot recommend her enough. It was the first time my partner and I have ever had an overnight sitter and we were pretty anxious about the whole process. Maria made us both feel so confident that our rambunctious girls were in good care :) she went above and beyond and was excellent at communicating with us and sending photos throughout our stay!”
“We’ll hire Alexander again! He was thankfully available relatively last minute before our vacation after our previous sitter fell through. He was communicative and shared updates and photos of happy, tired pups throughout the week.”

“Kristin exceeded every expectation—constant care, genuine engagement with my dog, a perfect routine, and a truly happy, very active dog. I found Kristin after a very thorough search, as it is absolutely essential to me that my dog is not left alone for more than a very short time. She not only respected that—she exceeded every expectation. A big part of my dog’s happiness is her walks, and Kristin took her on long, frequent walks every day. Just as important—if not more—is her feeding routine, which is central to her happiness. She has four main meals per day, plus a small supper and treats in between. I typically combine meals with training and play, and Kristin followed this routine exactly and with great care. Kristin truly engaged with my dog—playing with her both indoors and outdoors, grooming her, and even having her sleep in bed with her at night. She also sent me photos every day, which gave me complete peace of mind. She went above and beyond in ways I did not expect—she even bought my dog a new toy and a bag of treats, which says a lot about how much she genuinely cares. I returned to an exceptionally happy, relaxed, and well-cared-for dog. My dog is very perceptive, and it was immediately clear that she had formed a strong bond with Kristin—they were practically inseparable during the stay. On top of that, the house was left very clean and in perfect condition, with everything exactly as I left it. I would trust Kristin again without hesitation and highly recommend her.”
“Devin cat and house sat for us for two weeks while we were out of town. Our cat is a pandemic cat so is accustomed to frequent attention and it seems she definitely got that while we were away - possible more than when we’re home! Devin sent regular photos and updates and Misty always appeared very content. The house was left tidy and Devin helped with extra tasks such as bringing in the mail and putting out the trash for collection.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and exotic animals for families and neighbors for over 8 years. This ranges from home check-ins, trips to the vet, and overnight pet sitting. I have two cats at home and share custody of an English lab with my ex-boyfriend. New graduate in between jobs. Availability for the month of May/June is open. I do my best to accommodate all hours and needs for clients. I understand that a pet's home and environment are crucial. At home, I make sure my cats always have access to their food and water, litter boxes, and places for them to lounge :)
“John did a fantastic job taking care of Fenway and Rosie! He communicated with me daily, sharing pictures and video clips. They were happy and well loved. More over, John left the house in exceptional condition.”

About: A large grassy area in front of the property, several dog beds, dog-friendly neighborhood walks,...ideal for a fun pet overnight stay. I sometimes may have 2 dogs at one time, and 3 would be a rare occasion, though in the past I have had 3 from the same household. I study massage and dog psychology. Dogs who love touch or massages will get plenty of attention. This is a dog-friendly apartment complex with a dog run and a large lawn. Quiet dogs are also allowed on the balcony for fresh air, relaxation, and bird and people watching. About this sitter: I raised two Scottish Terrier litter-mates from puppy-hood and have cared for dogs and cats in their homes or mine for months at a time, and I enjoy walking dogs. I am soft-spoken and very patient. Shy, or sensitive/scared pets often feel comfortable around me pretty quickly. Pets should have joy in their lives so I enjoy giving them extra attention to help alleviate some of the stress when their owners are away. For overnight care at a clients' home, I like to stay as light and self-contained as possible. I'm in this for the love of pets and like to leave as little a footprint as possible! Experience includes: dog owner, cat owner, dog sitting for over 15 different dogs and 4 different cats (up to 6 dogs simultaneously or combo of 2 dogs/2 cats who were housemates). Why I love dog sitting: I made my first dog friend when I was 6 years old. Lalli was a seeing-eye school drop out and the sweetest dog I'd ever met. My aunt already had 2 cats that I loved by that point. I ended up helping a senior dog get past her separation anxiety and she and her folks gained more freedom. About my yard: Large grassy area in front of the house. Dog park nearby with well behaved friendly neighborhood dog regulars. My experience administering oral medication: I have done it and I will do it if a pet is not a biter or scratcher. I cared for 2 dogs during their hospice. I am open to doing that (for animals and humans) at least to help provide respite for the primary caretakers. I am free to spend time with your dogs and/or house sit anytime. Dogs that stay overnight with me will have a day sitter and dog company during the day. I am willing to accept stays longer than one week but we must discuss first to see if my system works for your animals. I live in a very walkable neighborhood with a park nearby and a large grassy area. I have an afternoon sunning deck, and plan potty breaks every 2-4 hours. Mini-massages and indoor play breaks are available throughout the day between dog naps.
“Kiana was great! I was in a last minute panic because my dog Finn got sick and couldnt go to day care, but has separation anxiety so I really needed coverage last minute. Kiana was a big help and flexible, adjusting as needed to help me and Finn get through the worst of it.”

“10 ☆s!! Shannon did such an outstanding job taking take of my Siberian Husky Nash! It was the 1st time we left him since we moved here from NJ last year and was a bit nervous knowing how crazy and stubborn Huskies could get! But Shannon went above and beyond! I received daily updates and pics which totally put us at ease so we were able to enjoy our vacation with no worries knowing that Nash was in such capable and loving care! I would highly recommend Shannon, as she is a keeper!!”

“Dana was an amazing house/dog/cat sitter and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She had to deal with our very high energy puppy, anxious small dog and elusive cat and she did a wonderful job with all three. It was also such a relief to come home to a house that was even cleaner than we left it!”

“After using Rover for almost 5 years now I can safely say that Maria has been the best I’ve met so far! She’s super loving, genuinely caring, transparent and a true dog lover. She not only followed Rio’s schedule but went over and beyond by getting treats and fruit for him when they got over. Maria even cleaned up the house and linens which she totally didn’t have to but it just shows how sincere she is. She treated my home like her own 💕 and sent regular updates and pictures which I appreciated so much since this was a longer trip … Rio looked so happy in them! As we got home and it was time for Maria to head out, Rio gave her so many kisses and even went looking for her in the guest room later in the night. I truly appreciate you Maria, you are really the best. Rio and I hope to meet you again soon :)”

FAQs for House Sitting - Dearborn Park
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 6,197 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dearborn Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dearborn Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dearborn Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dearborn Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dearborn Park. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
