About: I have been an animal sitter since I was a teen! Throughout these 8 years of my life I have looked after different animals like my sister’s dogs, cousin’s bird, and even a snake for a friend! I have a lot of experience looking after dogs, as I’ve helped my sister raise her two dogs, Love & Bug, ever since she adopted them. I’ve learned about reactive behavioral training to nutritional food education, all that has allowed me to hone in my animal knowledge. About: I grew up with labs my whole life and have always loved animals of all kinds. I used to dog and cat sit all the time when I still lived at my parents house. All my neighbors found me to be trustworthy so word used to spread pretty quickly that I was a great option for pet sitting! I used to volunteer at my local animal shelter and absolutely loved the experience. I became very intuitive about animal behavior and when to approach / leave them be. I lost my family dog of 13 years about a month ago and I have been yearning for any kind of puppy love I can get! I miss having a furry friend. I’m currently in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I work from home the rest of the week and am available most weekends so I can be flexible with my schedule. As mentioned above, I have been pet sitting for about 12 years now so understand each family creates a different environment for their pets. About: Hey! I’m Ruth :) I’ve had a furry friend by my side for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had a variety of dogs (mostly bully breeds) and as a teen, I volunteered as a dog walker at my neighborhood shelter. That experience led to caring for neighbors’ pets and eventually working for a dog-walking company. From tiny lap dogs to big goofballs, I’ve truly seen (and loved) it all. After moving to Lower Manhattan, I found myself pet sitting even more, sometimes in my own home, sometimes in a cozy Brooklyn home with a dog or cat by my side. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years now, and it’s still one of my favorite things to do. I work from home, so I can easily meet your pet’s needs throughout the day. I do step out a few times a week, but I’ll always communicate clearly about my schedule to make sure things align. Meet the Fluffy Hosts 🐾 Sophia – Silly, sweet, and always eager to please! She’s a high-energy girl who thrives with regular training and long walks. She’s great with all types of dogs, but does best with those who can respect her boundaries when she needs downtime. Oh, and she LOVES cats. I’m convinced she was one in a past life. Sesame – Like her sister, she’s sweet and playful but a bit more independent. She enjoys pets on her terms and will politely let you know when she’s had enough. She’s incredibly smart and knows some commands (will do just about anything for food!) and confident with dogs, likely from meeting so many over the years and trusting that I keep her safe.
