“I’m so happy we found Sergey at the last minute. My two dogs stayed with Sergey’s for six nights. They came home tired, happy, and clean. Sergey was extremely flexible with our timing when our travel was delayed. I would not hesitate to recommend Sergey as a pet sitter.”

“Jessica is fantastic. She was so good with our two pups for an overnight stay! She sent the best pictures, played with our pups with her children, and gave them a great place to stay for the night. Would highly recommend Jessica; and we will definitely not hesitate to send our dogs to her again!”

“Christina was so great with our dog! Quick Responses leading up to the time she had our dog and She sent us many updates though out the time she had our dog. She made sure to keep her busy with many adventures while we were away. We are excited to have our pup stay with Christina again when we are away!”
“Marissa was amazing with Fenway! She kept me updated all weekend with thoughtful messages and great pictures, which gave me total peace of mind. Fenway was clearly happy, comfortable, and having the best time in her care. He came home relaxed and it was obvious he was well taken care of. I really appreciated how responsive and attentive she was. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“Overall, our dog did well at Heidi’s house because he loves to be a pack animal and wishes he were at the dog park 24/7. This is not the place to go if your dog gets overwhelmed by other dogs. Although Heidi I was nervous when dropping Benny off at Heidi’s because about 30 dogs were staying at her house and it seemed very hectic upon arrival. I thought there were going to be way less dogs, and assumed from her profile photos that she had more of a kennel set up in her house. However, all went well and Benny came back safely. I was impressed by Heidi’s ability to keep up with all of the dogs she was watching, while maintaining communication with owners. Benny came back super exhausted and overstimulated, but I was thankful that he had a very active time and was distracted from being homesick. Heidi’s outdoor space for the dogs is huge and looks very secure, so her place would be perfect for the summer.”

“Molly did a great job with our dog, Watson! Watson is an anxious boy, but in no time I received a picture of him asleep, cuddling on their couch. We'd be happy to work with Molly again!”

“Jaclyn was wonderful. My 2year old Tiva hasn’t been left over night with a sitter and other dogs before. We were very nervous. Jaclyn sent pictures, videos and text stating how she slowly introduced other dogs to our Tiva. Tiva have a great time and we definitely will be taking her back to Jaclyn!”

“My big boy is so sensitive and so spoiled. We’ve never left him with anyone other than family. We had a family event and our floors were getting done so I explored Grover for this reason. I felt so nervous! But, I had nothing to worry about with Rebecca! She sent me pictures and reassurance throughout his stay. He had a blast! Thank you, Rebbecca! It was a wonderful experience for all of us! I can’t say enough, kind words to express how grateful we are…..”

“Christine was a lovely host for Bode’s week of summer camp. She was quick to reply, lovely to speak with, but most importantly seemed to really care about Bode’s wellbeing and happiness. She has a huge fenced in yard that he had free reign to, and a lovely in ground pool. We will absolutely book with her again!”

“Kimberly was great with our dog Sophie! Sophie had a great time going for walks in the park, and just relaxing! She can’t wait for the next time she gets to stay with Kimberly!”

“I was a bit uneasy at first to use a dog sitting app. 5 minutes on the phone with Matt and I was relieved. We met up a couple days before dropping Brandi off for her first time boarding and Brandi and Matt instantly hit it off and I couldn’t have been happier. Much better than taking a dog to a kennel and one very happy puppy.”
“I was traveling to Portland and had something come up last minute and I would not be able to have my dog in the hotel I was in. I reached out to Andrew and he quickly replied setting up an appointment. I was nervous to leave Titan with someone last minute but right when I meet Andrew I was immediately relieved. Andrew did a wonderful job with Titan and was sending updates throughout the two night stay. Titan settled in very smoothly and loved Andrew’s house and backyard. Andrew even took him on some great trails for some solid exercise. Thank you very much Andrew!”

“Audrey was so good with our pup, Luna! She came back to us so happy and well cared for. She made a very last minute stressful change so much better! Thank you for opening your home to our girl!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lisbon Falls
Alissa is absolutely the best! The care she provides is truly exceptional. Hank gets excited the moment we pull into her driveway, which tells me everything I need to know about how much he loves spending time with her. Leaving him in her care gives me complete peace of mind, knowing he's happy, safe, and loved. Alissa is incredibly interactive and always has something fun planned. She goes above and beyond to make sure Hank has an amazing experience. One of my favorite things is the wonderful updates she provides throughout the day, along with the most adorable pictures that capture all the fun Hank is having. It means so much to be able to see him enjoying himself while I'm away. I truly cannot recommend or thank her enough for everything she does. As an added bonus, she sends Hank home with homemade treats, which he absolutely loves! If you're looking for someone who will care for your dog as if they were her own, Alissa is as good as it gets. We are so grateful to have found her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
