“This was my first time using Rover and Aurora made the experience amazing! I was out of town for the weekend and Aurora took great care of my two fur babies. They are typically scared of strangers but she made them feel very comfortable and loved. I would definitely rebook with Aurora in the future.”

I have a fenced in yard and one resident adult dog who plays well with others. I believe our pets are part of the family so they will spend most of their time indoors with me and my pup. I’m happy to crate your pets and even accept puppies.

“CJ did a great job with the cats while I was gone for 10 days. He was able to come twice a day and hang out with them and give them the attention they needed. He updated me on everything and was easy to communicate with. He also shared great pictures from each visit! I came home to two happy cats.”

“Victoria was great! Quick/easy to communicate, check ins were on time and as discussed, and she seemed to take great care of my cat while I was gone! I will use her in the future.”

“Sara was absolutely amazing and was even able to get both of my (super) shy kitties to come out for her so she could give them attention! Amazing rover sitter, would highly recommend to anyone needing some pet care 😊”

About: I've watched my families dogs for years and have a dog of my own! She is a toy poodle and is full of energy and love. She is currently visiting family and we miss her very much. I am currently unemployed, so have lots of time to tend to your babies! Mainly looking to do dog walking, occasional drop in visits and if things work out well also boarding in my home! Im very flexible with days and times. So lets chat and work something out! I have a fenced in backyard and am able to crate your dogs if necessary. Whatever you do in your home can easily be mimicked in mine.
“I am so grateful to Amanda. I have a senior Velcro cat that I was nervous about leaving. I received detailed updates, cute photos, and full confidence my pet and home were in good hands.”

About: I have been taking care of pets for about 10 years coming from personal, family, and friends. I currently live with 2 dogs and a bunny! I do my best to make sure all animals are loved and feel at home. Im currently a college student home for the summer so I am pretty available all throughout the day. I don’t have any other job so pet care is my first responsibility. Ideally I would not pet sit at my own home due to my other animals and small living space but am free and open to pet care at the owners home!
“Amber did a drop-in visit with me and did a good job with short notice because I needed to work late. She did a report card and sent a picture and did a good job with Bailey.”

“Adrian was amazing! On time and followed care instructions to a T. I’m nervous to trust anyone with my pets and I’m so happy I found Adrian. They also sent pictures to show how much fun they were having and it put me at ease to see them having a ball. I will be booking with Adrian again whenever I need a dog sitter! Thank you so much for your care of my fur baby and I can’t thank you enough!”

About: As a pet sitter I feel responsible for caring for pets when their owners are not available. I may groom, feed and exercise your pets. I work based upon a set schedule or provide services on a periodic basis when the owner is unable to do so. I also offer training services. I am familiar with and able to work with pets of all kinds. I feel as though I am trustworthy because I’m aware I may be given access to customers’ homes. I am also physically able to exercise and care for pets. I have great love for animals, along with being friendly and possessing customer service skills. I love my 2 and a half year old American Staffordshire Terrier named Soxx. He’s all black with white paws (hence the name). Big Boston fan here too. He gets along with any and every body. Although he may be shy at first, he’s a friendly and caring dog. I do clean up after, groom, exercise and provide care for cats, dogs and small rodents, includes dog walking services and litter box and cage cleaning. I will respect clients’ homes and personal property when on-site offering pet sitting services, includes cleaning up any pet messes. I will provide additional customer service as requested by clients, which may include picking up mail, watering plants and opening and closing blinds or curtains. I will check and follow schedule provided by pet parents and report any conflicts or issues to then as soon as possible but at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled sitting appointment.
“Mackenzie is an exceptional cat sitter! From the moment we first contacted her, her communication was outstanding. She was incredibly responsive to our questions and updates. Her punctuality was also remarkable. She arrived exactly when she said she would for every visit. She made sure that our two cats (they are really shy) were well cared for and happy. We truly appreciated the regular photo updates of the cats during each visit. Mackenzie went above and beyond, and it's clear she genuinely loves animals. We wouldn't hesitate to work with her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter :)”

This was our second time asking Sahba to take care of our cats, and once again she did an amazing job. Sahba asked questions whenever something came up, which gave us peace of mind. She also sent us lots of photos and videos of our cats while we were away. We felt completely comfortable leaving our home and our cats in her care. We highly recommend her!

Andrew’s great for dropping in visits with Bailey. He comes and takes care of her multiple times a week. He does short walks with her because she’s an older dog and fills her water bowl and plays with her a little bit. She loves when he comes to visit when I need to work late.

Elisabeth was so incredible! Cannot recommend her enough. She watched our angelic yet clingy Siberian 1.5yr old cat every day for a week for an hour plus. My partner and I were going out of town for the first time since we adopted him and were extremely anxious about leaving him. A friend of ours had recommended Elisabeth, so we interviewed her and she was the obvious choice! Once we left, she was communicative with how Wally was doing and updated us with photos every day. Upon our return, he was happy to see us but it was clear he wasn’t starved for attention! It made us feel even more at ease that he clearly hadn’t been stressed about our absence at all. In a world out there where trusting your little one to someone else (and having them in your home) can be scary and anxiety-producing, you def want someone like Elisabeth taking care of them. Hire her!

Sarah is amazing! She has been a great sitter for our four cats. What impressed us the most was how she managed to connect with our extremely shy cat, who usually hides from everyone and trusts no one but us. Sarah is a true cat whisperer, and we couldn't be happier with her care!

Lissette is not only the cat whisperer, she also somehow always captures fantastic photos of your babies 😂 The boys love her and she’s always incredibly detailed and attentive. I never have to worry about my kitties when I know she’s checking on them ❤️ it’s such a relief, thank you Lissette!

Stephanie went above and beyond to take care of our disgruntled pit bull. In the process of switching sitters and our dog was not being friendly at all when Stephanie showed up, despite the previous meet & greet. Scary to have a pit growling and barking at you but Stephanie was able to win her over. Relieved and impressed, will be rebooking Stephanie regularly.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
