“Rory was such an amazing sitter. My dog created an amazing bond with Rory and we are forever grateful that they did. Arya easily opened up to him and that shows how comforting he is as a Rover. Rory made sure Arya was cared for and always contacted us with any questions/concerns. Will definitely consider Rory again :)”

“Tally was wonderful with my last-minute request to look in on my dog and take her for a walk when I needed to be away for most of the day and night. She took good care of my dog and took care to secure the house. I happily recommend Tally as a reliable pet care professional and I will use her services in the future if she is available.”

I’m also available on weekends and will always be upfront about my availability so you know exactly what to expect while your pet is in my care. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always come first. I understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, boundaries, and needs, and I’m happy to follow your instructions closely to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. I’m attentive to doors, gates, feeding instructions, medications, and any special needs or behaviors you want me to know about. I care for a ten year old bichon frise mix. As a pet owner, my dog is my child and that is how I treat all animals. I know all dogs are different and I look forward to getting know yours. “Selina was super responsive when I made a last minute request to have her come let my dogs out. She was incredibly understanding when I didn't get her message when she got to my house and was waiting for me to message her the door code. After my delayed response that finally got her access into my house, Selina was still willing to go in and take care of the dogs even though I took an extra 30 min of her day. She took great care of my dogs and I will definitely use her again.”

About: "THE GREATNESS OF A NATION AND ITS MORAL PROGRESS CAN BE JUDGED BY THE WAY ITS ANIMALS ARE TREATED". -GANDHI --------------->>Hablo Español<<-------------- Important fact about me: "I treat all animals with dignity, respect and care". -On that note, I will say the following: I am a life-long dog owner. Being a dog walker and sitter really does sound like the perfect PT job. My current job does not involve working with animals, although I wish it did. What I do for a living is in the arts field, I am a graphic designer who also does custom wood work on the side. -I do have pets of my own, 1 dog and 1 cat. I have always had a pet companion by my side. You can rely on me to take care of your dogs as if they were my own. I am very patient, loving and responsible towards other living creatures, specially dogs. -I can always send you photos and videos of your furry friend while we're out for a walk. Thank you, please consider me as your dog walker and sitter. =) PS I like to keep fit, so if your dog needs more of a run than a walk, I can do that too. I work full time but get home early, I am able to take dogs out for a run or a walk as it keeps me moving and I get to spend time with dogs which I love. My 13 year old labrador passed away not too long ago and miss having a dog at home. I have 2 cats at home right now, I understand the different psychology between dogs and cats, I like to think that they understand me and I understand them. If I am at a clients home, I first make sure I close every door behind me. I am very detail oriented and great at following instructions.
About: Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a stay at home mom providing a safe, comfortable, and attentive home environment for dogs while their families are away. Our home is set up with dogs in mind, including a large, fully enclosed .25 acre backyard where they can get fresh air, play, and explore safely. We also have Luna, our friendly 7 year old dog, who enjoys the company of other dogs and can provide companionship for pups who are comfortable around other dogs. I’ve had dogs most of my life and have experience caring for dogs through all stages of life. I previously had my dog Cal from puppyhood through his battle with cancer, which taught me the importance of patience, medication management, special care, and paying attention to each dog’s individual needs. Because I’m home full time, your dog will have plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, and won’t be left alone for long periods. I understand that every dog has their own routine and personality, and I’ll work to keep them comfortable by following their normal schedule and preferences. Whether your dog loves playing in the yard, going on walks, relaxing at home, or simply having someone nearby, I’d love the opportunity to care for them. I’ll treat your pet like they are part of our family while making sure you receive updates and feel confident they are safe and happy.
About: Your pet deserves more than just a sitter they deserve someone who treats them like family! With 5 years of pet care experience and as a proud dog mom of two, I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your furry family members. I’m patient, attentive, dependable, and passionate about making every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, maintaining routines, or simply providing extra cuddles and companionship, I make sure every pet receives personalized care. I also understand how stressful it can be to leave your pets with someone new. That’s why I prioritize clear communication, regular photo updates, and treating your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. My goal is to become someone both you and your pet look forward to seeing again. I want every visit to feel like they’re spending time with a trusted friend, not a stranger! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your furry family members! I’m available for dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. Whether your pet needs exercise, feeding, playtime, or a little extra love, I’m happy to help! Your pet’s safety, happiness, and comfort are my top priorities! I respect your home, follow your pet’s routine and care instructions, and make sure they receive plenty of attention. I’ll also provide regular photo updates so you can feel confident knowing your fur baby is in loving, dependable hands!
About: I’m passionate about making sure every dog and cat gets the care they need. I’ve cared for my own pets for 14 years, including my senior dog through his cancer diagnosis. I’ve worked with professional trainers to learn how to handle my dogs, and I enjoy basic training and manners at home. On walks, I adjust to each dog: loose leash walking, extra distance and treats for reactive dogs, and plenty of sniff breaks and enrichment for high-energy dogs. I use whatever harness or collar the owner prefers. I offer drop-ins, dog walking, house sitting, daycare, and cat care. I’ve raised working breeds, including a border collie and a husky, and now have a pit bull/Dutch shepherd mix, so I’m comfortable with high-energy dogs. I’m home most days, so I can fit in drop-ins, walks, and play sessions when clients need them. Pets get regular company and attention during the day during daycare. Pets are welcome inside my home, with plenty of places to sleep, including couches and dog beds. My home has a fenced yard and gated-off areas both indoors and outdoors. I introduce pets under supervision, especially around toys and food, and separate them at any sign of concerning body language.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - La Presa
Thank you so much for helping us this long weeekend Angelise! At the last minute you accepted our call and helped us with much needed support. You not only took on the last minute sitting, but aging dogs and a surprise guest with no issues. Thank you so much for all the piece of mind!

Positively amazing! Met with me on short notice and took care of my pup later that same week. Good communication throughout and even went the extra mile to come back and let my dog go to the bathroom later in the evening at no extra charge! Would recommend 10/10 dog sitter! She is a life saver

Kelsey was incredible! She was so kind and communicative with me about my kitties and any issues that arose (for example, my automatic litterbox got stuck and needed to be manually reset). I can tell she truly has a deep love and respect for all animals. One of my cats is very shy usually but by day 2 he was coming out to see her for treats and toys during their drop in! I came home to happy and healthy animals and Kelsey was even kind enough to bring my Amazon packages inside. This was a great experience and I’ll be using her in the future again for sure!

We had an amazing experience with Lexi as our dog sitter! She went above and beyond—she not only took great care of our dogs but also trimmed their nails and deshed them. It was clear they were loved and well cared for. We will absolutely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
