“Trinity was amazing! She was timely, She followed all directions that were left for my dog and was very attentive and communicative. My dog enjoyed her and we can’t wait to have her back again!”

About: I bring over 8 years of hands-on experience from owning my own dog, which has taught me everything from daily care and routines to reading a dog’s body language and understanding their needs. Along with that, I’ve also cared for friends’ pets, giving me experience with different breeds, personalities, and temperaments. I’m patient, reliable, and treat every dog like my own. Because I already care for my own dogs, pet care is a regular part of my day. I’m used to morning walks, meal times, and keeping pets on a steady routine. I’m flexible and easily make room in my weekly schedule to give each pet the time and attention they need. Whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in yours, I keep their routine consistent so they feel secure. I stick to their feeding schedule, provide regular walks, and give plenty of playtime and attention. I focus on creating a clean, safe, and loving environment and always stay in touch with updates and photos.

About: I have cared for dogs since I was about 7 years old. I’ve owned or have pet sat for all ages, sizes, and breeds. From puppies, to 15 year old doggos, I’ve got your back! I am currently a student, so making a couple of pup friends sounds like a great way to spend time outside, get active, and be helpful! I have a fenced yard and two cats. I always walk dogs on a leash, on the sidewalk, in well lit, pet-friendly/safe areas. I have multiple dog parks nearby that I would be open to taking your dog to (upon request only).

About: I love dogs. Well, animals in general. I’ve always had a passion for them. No one will treat your pet with as much respect as I do. So much so, I might even get a little too attached to these animals haha. But that’s why I wanted to do this. I mean, getting paid to take care of cute dogs? Talk about enjoying your job am I right. I will have no less than a great time with dogs. I can’t wait to see these beautiful animals. I might also bring my dog as well to socialize him around other doggos as well. I hope you all understand that I am definitely going to be the best. I work 25 hours a week and am a full-time college student. However, my schedule is flexible and I’ll be 100% available for these babies and they’ll definitely be in the best hands with me. I have a fenced patio so the doggos can’t escape and I’m always extremely careful with doors and gates anything like that. I’m always careful.

As a healthcare professional, I understand the importance of reliability, communication, and showing up on time. About: Growing up we always had 1 to 3 German Shepherds. Today I am privileged to work as a canine handler in a law enforcement role. I have extensive experience in detection, track and trail, and obedience work. At my home I have 3 large dogs. 1 retired Sable Shepherd, 1 working Shepherd, and an Agouti Husky. I currently work full time, 5 days a week. During my work days I'm away for approximately 9 hours, but this is subject to change at all times. I have installed gates to separate sections of my yard when necessary. This is great for those who may not play well with others and need their own space away from my, or other client's dogs. Additionally, I have a couple large outdoor kennels (approx 4'x8', shaded, with an enclosure attached). These areas provides an additional layer of separation if needed, or serves as an outdoor area for escape artists who will be outside during my absence... additionally, my set up allows for easy client access with codes. So if you are running late, plans change, or I'm not home you can let yourself into the yard to drop off or pick up your pup. No hassle for me or you, so no stress on either end. Im amenable to providing care, stimulation, obedience training, etc as directed by you the pet owner. My goal is to provide a low stress, safe, and friendly environment for your dog so you can try to worry just a little less while you are away. While I'm at work all dogs will be outside in the fenced yard with access to shade, water, toys, and other dogs if they get along well. When I am home dogs are able to do what they prefer. In or out, couch or bed. What makes them happy makes me happy.

About: Being raised in the rural parts of El Cajon, with my mom being apart of the AKC- American Kennel Club, I spent a lot of time around animals. Learning at a young age how to properly interact with dogs. I have walked up to three small dogs at the same time that belonged to my land-lord of 5 years. Even though these three dogs were considered aggressive toward other people, they loved and trusted me and I loved them back. I enjoy being around small animals and spending quality time with them. I am retired from the County of San Diego where I worked for 16 years. I am very flexible, reliable and punctual. I am looking forward to meeting you and your fur babies.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hillsdale
Charlie did a fantastic job visiting our 10 year old Maine Coon. It was a last minute booking because we needed to do an unexpected overnighter for a family matter, and our regular Rover wasn't available. Charlie was very punctual, sent us photos, and even did a few minor chores for us while she was here. She's very personable and friendly. Everything was great when we got back. We would not hesitate to call on Charlie again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
