Back yard is not fenced so your dog would always be on a leash. But we would go for walks pending your approval as I live in a perfect neighborhood for walking.

I do own two shy but friendly cats, but my apartment has enough space that they can be put in a separate room for a portion of the day while your kiddo and I hang out! We will probably just sit together on my couch while I read or watch TV together, nothing too loud that would cause any stress.
