John was excellent. He went above and beyond in every respect. We give our highest recommendation. John not only was very conscientious with our 2 dogs but also cleaned up our yard after the storm, hung our flag and fixed our trellis! We will definitely be booking again!

Samantha took amazing care of my three dogs while we were away. My dog had a medical issue that needed attention and she took great care of him. He required daily cleaning of his infection and administering of both oral and topical medications. He isn’t always easy to take care of because he is sometimes fearful and anxious. She still made sure he was taken care of successfully. I really appreciate her going the extra mile to make sure my babies were given lots of love and attention. Thank you!

We had Kelly come dog sit in January for a week. She was amazing! Very comforting for us that my dog, Sophie, would be cared for in my home. Sophie is normally an anxious dog. While Kelly was with her, Sophie was completely fine. I really enjoyed the photos of Sophie that Kelly sent me during her stay. Kelly stayed overnight for Sophie, she was very respectful of my home and left it the way she found it. I would highly recommend Kelly for your pet needs!!!!

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have always had dogs and other pets. I’ve also cared for family and friends’ dogs over the years, so I’m comfortable with a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. I have experience with both playful puppies and senior dogs who may need a little extra patience and care. Whether your dog needs a walk to burn off some energy, a potty break, playtime, fresh food and water, or just some company while you’re away, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for every visit. ! currently work and am a full-time student, but I have dedicated time throughout the week for pet care. I’m available Monday through Wednesday in the mornings and afternoons, and Thursday evenings. Weekend availability varies since I work most weekends, but I do have occasional openings. If you have a specific date or time in mind, feel free to reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your schedule! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. During every visit, I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, whether that means feeding, refilling water, giving treats, going for a walk, playing, or simply spending time keeping them company. I’ll make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure at all times and will always respect your home and follow any instructions you provide. I know every pet has a different personality and comfort level, so I’ll take the time to get to know them and earn their trust. I’ll also send updates and photos after each visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

About: Neighbors and family have relied on me to care for their pets, including elderly and special needs animals, as well as exotic reptiles and birds, many times. I’m a part-time student in eco-toxicology at this time studying online so I’m around full time for pet care, feel free to reach out for care any day of the week! I live with my large family, and my roommates have two dogs and two cats, all of which are friendly. We have two spare crates for visitors so let me know if your dog is crate trained! About: My family and I believe a dog needs 100% love and attention. Your dog will be walked feed and played with for the time you choice. We will send a daily picture that candid with your dog. As a family we like to give each old a mini of 3 hours of dedicated time as side from feeding and tidying up. My day starts a 4am. When your dog wakes up I tend to feed at their normal time. I would follow your walk schedule and even continue habitual training if you are currently doing so. All areas are pet safe and closed off. I have a fenced yard. Walks are usually a minimum of 30 mins but if your puppy is very active we would walk longer as needed

About: I’ve always had a love for animals and enjoy making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, so I take the time to follow each owner’s instructions closely. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or just a calm companion, I’ll make sure they feel loved and cared for. I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. Since I’m home often, your pet won’t be left alone for long periods of time, and I can help keep them on their normal schedule so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. For house sitting, I’m also able to bring my work equipment with me, which allows me to stay with your pet while still working remotely and giving them consistent care and companionship. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to keep their routine and environment as normal and comfortable as possible. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications if needed, crate routines, and any house rules. I always make sure doors, gates, leashes, and fenced areas are secure, and I pay close attention during walks and playtime to keep pets safe. I’m respectful of every client’s home and will treat both your pet and your space with care. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you feel comfortable while you’re away.

Trisha graciously watched my 2 older dogs at the last minute in my home. She was an amazing houseguest, and was incredible with my visually impaired dog who requires various daily medications. My other grumpy dog took to Trisha immediately, which is remarkable as he can be stingy with his affection. Thank you Trisha and we all look forward to seeing you again soon.❤️

About: Hello, my name is Maddy. I have cared for dogs since I was a little girl, over 15 years. I have always had 3 dogs, varying in age and size, that I have been responsible for. I am comfortable walking, feeding, playing and cuddling with small, medium and large dogs. I currently have 3 Golden Retrievers; Mille, Richard and Blue. I have experience housesitting and pet sitting for multiple dogs. I am comfortable with caring for multiple dogs at the same time (the more the merrier!!). I work fully remote and have a very flexible schedule. I would love to help out others who don't get to work from home with their pets. I am available to feed, walk, check-in, play and more with any pups. If there are any specific instructions or things you are looking for, I am here to help! I work full-time remote with a very flexible schedule. I can adjust my full-time work around my personal schedule. I am able to work in different places as long as I have my laptop and phone with me. I love to spend time outdoors and am comfortable with walking multiple dogs at the same time. I am a quick learner and will adjust to pet and pet owners preferences. I will keep your pup(s) safe, just like I do for my three dogs.

FAQs for House Sitting - Kings Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Kings Park on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,009 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kings Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kings Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kings Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kings Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kings Park. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
