“Giovanna was great with my very anxious dog (and his anxious owner). My dog can be difficult and doesn't trust people he doesn't know. Giovanna followed all instructions with patience and care. She was communicative, respectful, and responsible. I came home to a clean house and a happy dog, which is all one could ask for!”

About: I’ve taken care of my neighbors dogs since i was 11. My first job was a dog walker/sitter but i just liked being able to play with pets. Overtime that evolved into me taking care of my friends’ pets (cats, dogs, birds, fish, plants…) when they went out of town. I set and stick to schedules so they get the timely care and attention they need. I also send texts/facetime/pictures updates to pet owners I work from home full time with minimal meetings so i can take lots of breaks to drop-in, house sit, play, walk and feed. There are currently no time restrictions on my end so your pet can have the attention they need! If boarding in my home, i have toys and a pet area. There are no hazardous materials (hard corners, noises, cleaning products) or food laying around. I also have an open floor plan so they wouldn’t be cramped and bored.
“Monica was absolutely wonderful with Luna! She kept us updated throughout with photos and check-ins, so we never had to worry. We’ll definitely be booking with Monica again.”

“100% will book again and highly recommend Steven! Steven watched over my 16 year old cat with few health issues that required extra attention. On top of that, we recently lost another cat (her companion for 15 years) and she has been lonely and high stress. We were having second thoughts about leaving on vacation. Steven did an incredible job communicating during the entire trip. He provided daily summary of how she was doing, her appetite, her energy, meds etc. He honestly made our vacation 100% more relaxing and worry free. When we came back our cat was very chill and relaxed, a great sign that she had great company and that she loved Steven. I plan to become a repeat customer and 100% recommend him. Your pet will certainly be in great hands with Steven”

“Veronica was absolutely wonderful with our dogs, Daphne and Samson. From the very beginning, she stood out as exceptionally thoughtful in how she approached their care. She clearly took the time to understand their personalities, routines, and little quirks, and it showed in how comfortable and well cared for they were when we returned. She is also an outstanding communicator. We received clear, consistent updates that were both reassuring and detailed, which made it easy to relax while we were away. Her messages reflected real attentiveness and presence, not just box-checking. It’s rare to find someone who combines warmth, reliability, and sharp judgment so seamlessly. We felt trust in Veronica, and Daphne and Samson were happy and calm when we got home, which says everything. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a truly exceptional sitter.”

“This time Betty stayed for over a week to care for our two dogs and one cat. She’s a delight to work with and the animals clearly love her. House was in great shape too. Highly recommend (and we’ve already booked her again).”

“This was our first Rover experience and our sitter did not disappoint. Xena was wonderful with our husky. She was punctual and communicative throughout the evening. We look forward to having her return for our next event.”

“Ashley was an awesome pet sitter and our pets loved her. She’s great with dogs and cats and knows how to adapt to different pet personalities very well! I highly recommend her.”

“Chistina was awesome. Our pug was well cared for and we received regular updates and pictures. We could tell Bella was happy (well, as happy as she can be without her hoomans). Highly recommend Christina for looking after your furry family members.”

“Nichole is the best Rover out there! She is exceptionally kind and responsible. She went above and beyond caring for our dogs and our home while we were away. We received many updates and cute pictures - the love she showed our dogs was absolutely incredible and made us feel reassured they were in great hands. Our family will 100% be using Nichole’s services again. Thank you so very much, Nichole, for your care and generosity! Kiwi and CeCe are already missing you!”

“Fantastic communicator and excellent follow through. My pets both seemed to really love her. Lots of pictures and status updates. When one of my babies wasn’t feeling his best she regularly let me know the status and got him through it. Everything was excellently cared for. Will definitely book again :)”

“I simply cannot express the relief I had while traveling with Vanessa as my house/pet sitter. I have 2 cats and was babysitting my daughters cat, who arrived the day I left. Vanessa sent pics everyday of the cats snuggled with her or chilling in their fav spots! My trip was very unexpected, and it was my first time using Rover. I’ve always wary booked Vanessa again for a trip I had planned and was going to take my cat to my daughters, but it was so much more relaxing for them here in their home❤️”

“Jocabet took amazing care of our dog Fozzie, was super responsive, gave great frequent updates and was a huge help when we ended up having to change our travel plans! Would definitely book Jocabet again and highly recommend!”

“Janis was wonderful house sitting for our cat Toastie while we were away on vacation. She stopped by for a meet-and-greet before, and it took no time for Toastie to warm up to her. Janis was excellent with communication. During her stay, we received regular updates and pics to let us know everything was fine. Janis was also responsible and took very good care of Toastie. We will be happy to schedule her again!”

“Meredith was wonderful sitting and housesitting our “interesting” terrier mix, Winnie, during our recent vacation. They got along great. Meredith kept us informed with texts and pics while we were away, and was a terrific and considerate house resident. This was our first time working with Meredith and it definitely won’t be our last. I recommend Meredith highly!!”

“Katiana was awesome with my 2 pups! She arrived on time and sent many photos and updates throughout the day. My pups absolutely loved all the attention and trips to the dog park! Thank you so much for taking such great care of them!!”
“Zada was excellent at communicating with us throughout the time she watched Ursa. She sent so many great photos! She followed our care instructions well and was attentive to Ursa’s needs.”

Very happy repeat customer here 😊 we love having Nichole take care of our (very lively and needy) pup!! Nichole goes above and beyond to make sure our girl is well taken care of, and sends lots of updates and photos. She also takes great care of the house - leaves everything clean and in order, and even makes us homemade baked goods 😋 we love Nichole, and can’t wait to work with her again!! Highly recommended for anyone who needs fun, loving, and responsible pet care.

Gio is absolutely wonderful. She takes Daphne and Samson out every week and also stayed with them this weekend while I was away, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is incredibly kind, dependable, communicative, and genuinely cares about them. I came home to two very happy, relaxed dogs who had clearly been loved and spoiled all weekend. Daphne and Samson both adore her, and I always feel comfortable knowing they’re in her care. I’m so grateful to have found Gio and would absolutely recommend her!

Sam is an outstanding dog-sitter! He had great communication before and during the sit - he sent photo updates multiple times each day we were away. He took the dogs on lovely walks and had nice playtimes with them. He left the house nice and clean for when we arrived back and the dogs were all so happy and well looked after. I would definitely recommend and we hope to have Sam sit for us again in future.

Naomi was a fabulous dog sitter! She kept us well informed and asked timely questions when our dog Clyde was having trouble with walks and thunderstorms. She kept our home tidy and our dogs well fed, walked, and happy! I know the dogs will miss her company and definitely use her services again!

Melanie was such a trooper! Three kitties, two with pills, and a cancelled flight return/emergency extra day. That's a lot to juggle and she managed beautifully. All three kitties loved her and were clearly happy and healthy in the great pics that she sent regularly. Highly recommend!

Veronica is absolutely wonderful. She took such loving, attentive care of my two dogs, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were with her. She is incredibly kind, reliable, communicative, and clearly genuinely loves animals. I came home to two very happy, well-cared-for dogs. I couldn’t recommend her more highly and feel so lucky to have found her!

Steven did an awesome job with our very elderly pup while we were out of the country for over a week. He followed his food, walk, and medication routines, and gave daily updates with pictures. We came home to a pup who had been well-cared for. Thanks so much Steven!

Gabby was EXCELLENT. She implemented every instruction and was able to think ahead for some challenges we had with our dog. He loved his time with her and she did an amazing job communicating with us. She definitely set our minds and hearts at ease while we were away for our vacation.

Charlotte took great care of my dog Juniper! She sent lots of pictures and Juniper was relaxed and happy when I got home. Juniper is a reactive dog who is afraid of new people, Charlotte did a great job overcoming that challenge and walking Juniper in a neighborhood full of other dogs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Kemp Mill on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 11,382 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kemp Mill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kemp Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kemp Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kemp Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kemp Mill. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
