“Vanessa did a fantastic job taking care of our corgi. She followed all of our instructions closely and went above and beyond to make sure our dog was safe, healthy and very happy. Our pup immediately felt comfortable with Vanessa and she also took good care of our house. We fully recommend her as a dog and house sitter.”

“Aliyah went above and beyond in taking care of my cats. My youngest fur baby instantly warmed up to her, which is quite rare! Aliyah sent me lots of photos while I was away, easing my separation anxiety. Being away from my cats is never easy, but knowing they were in such great care with Aliyah made it so much better.”

“Scott did an excellent job caring for our dog! Communication was prompt, clear, and detailed. He spent a valuable hour walking, feeding, and playing with her so we could enjoy an afternoon away. Would 100% hire Scott again.”

About: Neighbors, family and friends trusted and relied on me to walk, bathe, feed, and play with their fur babies and can count on me to love their pets🐾 I currently have a wide availability during the week and weekends (select Sundays available upon request) for Mondays-Saturdays for the morning hours (7am-11am), afternoons (12 pm-4:30pm) and evening hours (4:30pm-9pm). I have a clean and quiet home and open space for play and big couch for cuddles and dog tv watching. My house has three levels for any fur baby to sit on the landing spot of the stairs
“She was so nice and took great care of my dog. My dog sometimes is timid among strangers but Heidy made the experience much better and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. 🌸🌸 10/10 recommend.”

About: I’ve helped walk and play with dogs at a local dog shelter and also watch my friend’s dogs, including walking and sitting two dogs at a time. I work remote, Tuesday to Friday, and my job isn’t very busy so I have plenty of time on my hands to walk dogs anytime time during the weekdays. Weekends are also flexible too. When I care for dogs in my friend’s homes, they have fenced in backyards for them to run around in but I also walk them in the neighborhood and on trails.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience caring for senior dogs, including my own 13-year-old companion, Angel. She’s a wonderful example of how older pets can still be energetic and joyful with the right care and attention. I understand the unique needs of senior animals, such as gentle exercise, medication management, and extra patience. Additionally, I’m skilled at adapting activities to suit each pet’s age and personality, whether it’s training puppies or providing comfort to older pets. My compassionate approach ensures every pet feels safe, loved, and engaged, no matter their stage of life. I work part time so i’m just down to do this whenever I am free . THE MORE BABIES THE BETTER , I have a semi flexible schedule I have a fenced yard and I can care for your baby almost as well as you can IF YOU LET ME GIMME THE FUR BABIESSSSS
“Rachel came to visit Penny before the stay over. Rachel was confident she could handle Penny and all her needs. Penny is 15 years, can get anxious when we are away, needed diapers, crushed meds in her soft food and a gentle touch. They took to each other right away which reassured us that the weekend that Rachel was to stay over would work out fine. Everything worked out perfectly, even the doggy diapers and Penny's meds in her soft food. Rachel, thank you so much for taking care of Penny and the house. We look forward to having you sit for Penny in the future.”

“This was Belarria’s first time with a pet sitter she didn’t know. Since I’m her primary person and she basically mopes when I’m gone, even if being looked after by someone she knows and loves, I didn’t have any expectation that she would become best pals or anything, and that was the case and is fine. But she warmed up to Omar quickly when I was there. And she felt secure enough with him to sleep in the bed when the fireworks were happening and take comfort from his presence. She did take treats and medicine (she broke a dew claw right before we went away) from him. I’m extremely happy with the care Omar provided and will be using his services again. Highly recommend.”

“Jason was great - clearly a dog lover. He was open for being a bit of a test run for Artie staying somewhere overnight that wasn't our house for the first time. He was very communicative, and even drove Artie back to us when we got home a little later than we were expecting.”

“Responsible and has care taking heart. Jasper was comfortable and well taken care of. I was informed periodically about his day with her, whether his eating or sleeping or playtime.”

About: I have dogs of my own that I take on daily walks. I have two husky’s (11 and 6 yrs) and a pitbull I had for 13.5 yrs (she crossed the rainbow bridge). I enjoy going out for walks because I know it’s a dogs favorite time of the day. I’ve taken my friends and family’s dogs on walks while they’ve been out of town. I’m looking to walk dogs in the evening when I go for my afternoon walks around the neighborhood. There are times where I may have availability during the day as well. I’m flexible and will do my best to fit you into my schedule. I love dogs and I treat all dog as if they are my own. I’ll make sure to make them feel comfortable with me and give them the attention they need.

Melanie was such a trooper! Three kitties, two with pills, and a cancelled flight return/emergency extra day. That's a lot to juggle and she managed beautifully. All three kitties loved her and were clearly happy and healthy in the great pics that she sent regularly. Highly recommend!

Jason was great - clearly a dog lover. He was open for being a bit of a test run for Artie staying somewhere overnight that wasn't our house for the first time. He was very communicative, and even drove Artie back to us when we got home a little later than we were expecting.

Brittany was great! She house sat for us and took great care of our dogs for a week while we were on vacation. She followed all our directions, made sure our 2 dogs were well cared for and happy during our trip, and kept us well updated. Brittany can be relied upon to care for your pets for extended periods of time and we will definitely be using Brittany again in the future. Thank you Brittany!

Emma did a wonderful job of caring for our silly Lab. She sent us photos of a happy dog, which was comforting. Emma played with our dog and took here out for the exercise which is so important for dog's health. When we returned, our furry girl was happy. Emma also left our home as it was when we left. I would not hesitate to have Emma care for our dog when again.

Angela took great care of my dogs at the last minute and kept me updated the whole time with messages and photos. She was reliable, easy to communicate with, and made me feel completely comfortable knowing they were in good hands. I’d definitely book with her again!

Betzabe is a fabulous pet sitter. She gives updates and photos every time she visits. She gave personalized attention including food, walks and playtime to my two little poodle mixes. Even my high anxiety and particular dog loves when Betzabe comes. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter.
Stephanie took great care of our dog and two kittens during a house sitting! She was super sweet, communicative, and as a pet parent herself she knew how to give them all the attention and affections they needed to make sure they are comfortable while we were away for a couple of nights. Highly recommend her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Layhill South walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Layhill South maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Layhill South choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
