“Gus and Wayne seemed very happy and content with Helene! She kept us updated with pics and check-ins, and we were very comfortable leaving the hounds in her care for a long vacay!”

“Ashley did a wonderful job caring for our needy cat, Charlie. She communicated promptly, sent great pictures and followed directions meticulously. It was great peace of mind for us.”
“This time Betty stayed for over a week to care for our two dogs and one cat. She’s a delight to work with and the animals clearly love her. House was in great shape too. Highly recommend (and we’ve already booked her again).”

“Xena was great with my dog, Penny! She took great pictures and sent updates throughout the day. She communicated well and I could tell my dog was well taken care of. Thanks, Xena! 😊”

“Amazing! We were anxious leaving our pup for the first time and couldn’t be happier. The updates really helped put us at ease and she even introduced him to new neighborhood friends!”

“Rachel came to visit Penny before the stay over. Rachel was confident she could handle Penny and all her needs. Penny is 15 years, can get anxious when we are away, needed diapers, crushed meds in her soft food and a gentle touch. They took to each other right away which reassured us that the weekend that Rachel was to stay over would work out fine. Everything worked out perfectly, even the doggy diapers and Penny's meds in her soft food. Rachel, thank you so much for taking care of Penny and the house. We look forward to having you sit for Penny in the future.”

“Jennifer was so amazing. She was great with our elderly, cranky, highly medicated dog. She gave us lots of updates and checked in with us whenever or dog inevitably acted a little odd. She also went above and beyond taking care of our house.”
“Once again, our pup had a great time with Christina! Christina communicated throughout the house stay -- asking good questions and providing some great pictures of playtime. Thank you, Christina!”

“I simply cannot express the relief I had while traveling with Vanessa as my house/pet sitter. I have 2 cats and was babysitting my daughters cat, who arrived the day I left. Vanessa sent pics everyday of the cats snuggled with her or chilling in their fav spots! My trip was very unexpected, and it was my first time using Rover. I’ve always wary booked Vanessa again for a trip I had planned and was going to take my cat to my daughters, but it was so much more relaxing for them here in their home❤️”

“We came from out of town and Julia was responsive and made making plans easy for us. My dog immediately gravitated toward her and it was an overall positive experience. I would recommend Julia to anyone looking for a responsible animal lover to look after their pet.”

“Scott did an excellent job caring for our dog! Communication was prompt, clear, and detailed. He spent a valuable hour walking, feeding, and playing with her so we could enjoy an afternoon away. Would 100% hire Scott again.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience caring for senior dogs, including my own 13-year-old companion, Angel. I understand the unique needs of senior animals, such as gentle exercise, medication management, and extra patience. Additionally, I’m skilled at adapting activities to suit each pet’s age and personality, whether it’s training puppies or providing comfort to older pets. My compassionate approach ensures every pet feels safe, loved, and engaged, no matter their stage of life. I work part time so i’m just down to do this whenever I am free . THE MORE BABIES THE BETTER , I have a semi flexible schedule I have a fenced yard and I can care for your baby almost as well as you can IF YOU LET ME GIMME THE FUR BABIESSSSS

“100% will book again and highly recommend Steven! Steven watched over my 16 year old cat with few health issues that required extra attention. On top of that, we recently lost another cat (her companion for 15 years) and she has been lonely and high stress. We were having second thoughts about leaving on vacation. Steven did an incredible job communicating during the entire trip. He provided daily summary of how she was doing, her appetite, her energy, meds etc. He honestly made our vacation 100% more relaxing and worry free. When we came back our cat was very chill and relaxed, a great sign that she had great company and that she loved Steven. I plan to become a repeat customer and 100% recommend him. Your pet will certainly be in great hands with Steven”

“Izzy was a complete delight to work with! I booked her to house sit and care for our 3 dogs for a long weekend and she was extremely reliable, professional, and responsible. She went above and beyond her duty to care for our dogs and we returned to 3 happy pups and an immaculate house! We will certainly be requesting her services again and again!”

“Karachi is so wonderful! She’s so gentle and knowledgeable with our puppy (who adores her) and we trust her completely. We’ve used her multiple times and will continue to do so.”

“Maniyha was excellent sitting for our two dogs while we were away. She was perfectly patient and loving with them despite the older one being a little bit of a nervous Nellie. She was a great communicator and left our house in perfect condition. We will definitely be booking her for our future travel!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Jenny provided! She was responsible, attentive, and truly empathetic with our two dogs, making them feel safe and loved while we were away. She also took excellent care of our home and was incredibly respectful of our space. We especially appreciated the thoughtful daily updates and how responsive she was throughout the stay. She even went out of her way to ship something we had forgotten at home—above and beyond in every way. Highly recommend!”

Melanie was such a trooper! Three kitties, two with pills, and a cancelled flight return/emergency extra day. That's a lot to juggle and she managed beautifully. All three kitties loved her and were clearly happy and healthy in the great pics that she sent regularly. Highly recommend!

We used Giovanna for pet sitting for three nights in our home during our wedding weekend and she was phenomenal to work with! We cannot recommend her enough. We often leave our pup with family, so we were pretty anxious to have to contact a “stranger” to watch him as he can be somewhat anxious and finicky. Giovanna was super thorough with his care and his meds and kept us up to date each day on how things were going. He is not an easy dog, but she was very patient and attentive with him. She of course left our house spotless as well. She is also just a sweet and kind person, you can tell she really loves and cares for the pets she is taking care of. If you book with her, you won’t regret it!

Vanessa did a fantastic job taking care of our corgi. She followed all of our instructions closely and went above and beyond to make sure our dog was safe, healthy and very happy. Our pup immediately felt comfortable with Vanessa and she also took good care of our house. We fully recommend her as a dog and house sitter.

Maria stayed with our two elderly dogs while we were on vacation and took great care of them. They were obviously excited to see her, and she was careful to follow all eye drop and medication instructions, even when one of our dogs was not very cooperative. Maria communicated very clearly and often with us, making us feel comfortable that the dogs were well cared for and that we knew how they were doing. She also was very respectful of our house and even watered plants without being asked!

Jason was great - clearly a dog lover. He was open for being a bit of a test run for Artie staying somewhere overnight that wasn't our house for the first time. He was very communicative, and even drove Artie back to us when we got home a little later than we were expecting.

Brittany was great! She house sat for us and took great care of our dogs for a week while we were on vacation. She followed all our directions, made sure our 2 dogs were well cared for and happy during our trip, and kept us well updated. Brittany can be relied upon to care for your pets for extended periods of time and we will definitely be using Brittany again in the future. Thank you Brittany!

Emma did a wonderful job of caring for our silly Lab. She sent us photos of a happy dog, which was comforting. Emma played with our dog and took here out for the exercise which is so important for dog's health. When we returned, our furry girl was happy. Emma also left our home as it was when we left. I would not hesitate to have Emma care for our dog when again.

Angela took great care of my dogs at the last minute and kept me updated the whole time with messages and photos. She was reliable, easy to communicate with, and made me feel completely comfortable knowing they were in good hands. I’d definitely book with her again!

Ben took great care of our dog, Banjo, while we were away on a long trip (almost 2 weeks). Coming home, the biggest relief was seeing Banjo happy, healthy, and in great spirits. It was clear he’d been well cared for. Ben made sure he was fed, walked, and had plenty of playtime and attention. He also took great care of our home by bringing in the mail and keeping an eye on everything while we were gone. We will definitely be using Ben again in the future. Highly recommend!

Betzabe is a fabulous pet sitter. She gives updates and photos every time she visits. She gave personalized attention including food, walks and playtime to my two little poodle mixes. Even my high anxiety and particular dog loves when Betzabe comes. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glenmont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glenmont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glenmont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
