About: Growing up, my family used to always foster animals and provide cat and dog-sitting/boarding/etc. for the local animal hospital as well as friends/family/neighbors. We personally had 7 pets, at one point (three dogs and four cats who were all best friends). To this day, I’m the designated cat and dog-sitter for all of my friends. Everybody knows I love watching their pets and will spoil them if their mom/dad is okay with it. It’s honestly such a treat for me to get to spend the day/week/etc. caring for and hanging out with animals! Currently, I have one cat and one dog (both elderly now). But I have a large house with a huge yard. So I have the ability and space to care for additional animals (including keeping them apart from my own two, if desired). I currently work part-time and am taking a step away from my professional career. I really do find so much joy when I’m with dogs and cats, and it brings me so much happiness to spend time with animals. Due to the loss of a loved one recently, I have decided to focus more on what is truly important in life and take a break from the stressful office-work life. So my schedule is fairly open! I have a large yard that is completely fenced off away from the road and private from my neighbors. I have a two story house in a very safe and great neighborhood. I have one cat (12 years old) and one dog (16 years old). Due to their age, they are both very docile and mainly spend the day lounging around and sleeping. My cat (Baby) has her own room that she spends the day in/sleeps in (though I leave the door open for her to roam the house, if she wants to, throughout the day). If I do have a pet who will spend the day with me, I will leave her room door closed and keep the animals apart. She is very friendly but a huge scaredy cat (and will likely hide under the bed if she senses anybody new around). My dog (Bella), at over 16 years old now, is embracing her elderly life with a lot of napping. She likes to walk around the yard to get some sun-bathing time in. Otherwise, she’s very friendly and will likely still just nap/lounge even with the presence of a new animal around. I am happy to allow her to interact with other animals but can easily keep them separate as well. Bella sleeps in my bedroom upstairs and has her own area/dog bed in my living room for the daytime.
