“Penny was amazing with Bear! Her communication was great, and she was able to help me on short notice. Looking forward to having Penny helping us out in the future. Thanks Penny!”

“So happy we found Wendy to look after our two babies. She was fantastic with sharing updates after each visit, and loved that she shared photos. Decided to call her the cat whisperer especially with how she bonded and interacted with our little boy.”

“Samantha did such a great job visiting my cats who are very demanding. She really does a thorough and reliable job and is very kind. She communicates in a timely fashion which is great”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was very young. From hamsters, rabbits and cats to dogs, goats and horses. I promise to care for your fur babies as well as you do 🥰 I am currently partially retired so I have plenty of time, day or night, to help others care for their fur babies. What better way to spend my time 🤗 I currently have 2 aging cats who are “indoor” cats. They do go out back once in a while, but they never leave the patio. They love just sitting outside in the sunshine watching the birds. Our dog stays in the house at night and when we are away, but loves to play ball outside. Our fur babies are family.
“Kim is a rockstar! She is so great with our kitties! She has watched them several times and they have started to treat her like a member of the family. There's no one else I would trust to take such good care of our babies.”

“Alexis was amazing!!! She took care of my two cats while I was away on vacation. They were well taken care of and Alexis was so loving and caring to my babies. One of my cats is always scared of new people and hides, Alexis got her to come out the first day! She has a gift with animals and is very reliable. Have to book with her, won’t regret it!”

“First time using a sitter for our baby astro and Caitlin was fantastic! She provided top-notch care, ensuring our furry baby felt loved and comfortable. Excellent communication, punctuality, and a genuine passion for animals made the experience worry-free. Highly recommend!”

“This is the second time we’ve used Robin to care for our senior cat. She’s dependable, has great communication and passion for animals. We will continue to use Robin to care for our cat.”

“Alicia did a great job checking on my 2 kitties while away on vacation. She came to meet with us beforehand for a meet and greet to ensure she knew exactly how to care for the fur babies. Would recommend to anyone! 💯”

About: I have personally raised family pets all of my life. We currently have two German Shepherds that are a little older, so I am very familiar with big breeds as well as small. My oldest son and I raised a Guide Dog for the Blind Puppy while he was in high school and that puppy is now officially a K9 Buddy for a young boy in California. I have worked as a Special Education Teacher for 20 years and as a Pet Care Provider, officially, for over 2 1/2 years. I also work for a private pet care provider in Argyle. My clients can rest assured that I am reliable, trustworthy and compassionate. Your furry family members deserve a special someone to hangout with while you are away! During the school year, I work evenings during the weekdays and can accommodate more visits over the weekends. Summer hours, and holidays are more accommodating as I am not working as a Teacher. Communication is key to providing the best care for your family member. I would prefer to meet you and your pet prior to the initial visit to build that strong rapport and trust.

About: From puppies to seniors, I’ve been around dogs my whole life, at least three dogs in my house my whole life. I learned to be responsible and became infatuated with pet-behaviors and learning the way every pet wants to be interacted with. I’ve also grown to love rescues, and have two of my own. While I’m not lucky enough to be a full-time animal enthusiast as my career, my favorite “hobby” is anything to do with dogs, the best way to take care of them, and make sure they enjoy their life. I have two pets of my own, one with special needs. I quite literally view them both as my own children, and do everything I can to know they feel and get treated that way. My pup gets her walks, play time, down time and routine care every day (along with all the snuggles), and as long as he gets attention (and maybe some chicken tubes) my kitty is happy. Even with working full time, I make sure they are my number one my priority. I quite literally view my own pets as my own children, and I know they will always be that way. My boyfriend finds it a bit much, but before her walks, my dog gets her puppy shoes on and off we go, to make sure she doesn’t get her burnt feet. I tend to be a bit of a worry-wart about my pets, I monitor their behavior and actions constantly. As soon as something may seem off with one of them, I’m already making calls and doing research as to what it may be. Thankfully, even with one pet of mine high risk for liver and kidney problems, they have been happy, healthy, and active pets (even with an apartment) since I’ve had them. My priority is always safety no matter the pet.
“Michelle took great care of my dog when I was away. She was on time, communicative and responsive when needed. I’d highly recommend her to other local pet parents.”

About: I have experience taking care of puppies/dogs since I was 16. I have had many family members and friends trust me with caring for their animals, as well as cats. I am currently working part time front desk. I would love to give the rest of my time to animals that need love and attention. I currently live on a fenced in acre and my cat Moki stays inside. I have experienced taking animals outside, watching them making sure they aren’t getting into trouble, feeding schedules, and lots of play time.
“This was our first experience with River and Miranda was great! She took wonderful care of our puppy and made sure we knew all his updates. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of pets since I was a very young girl. I now have my own family and I still love animals of all kinds and have a special love for dogs. I have had dogs from puppies up until their senior years and have had experience caring for the needs of all ages. We love to travel also and understand wanting to know your fur babies are well taken care of and loved while you are away! I am a Stay-At-Home-Mom and my husband works from home so your pets will often have someone with them to keep them company and love on them. We have a fenced in backyard with grass, trees, and access from their own dog door! Plenty of room to run, play, or enjoy the sunshine in. We have space indoors for a crate and prefer to crate your dog(s) at bedtime.
About: Hi, my name is McKenzie! I’ve grown up with dogs and have always loved being around them. I currently have a doodle of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your dog. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I’m happy to provide plenty of walks, playtime, attention, and cuddles. I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own and make sure you feel comfortable knowing they’re well cared for while you’re away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Justin. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
