“Maddie has been absolutely wonderful with Emmy. She is very responsive, always shows up on time, refills her water bowl, and even takes time to play with her in the backyard. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Emmy is in such caring and attentive hands. If you’re looking for someone friendly, reliable, and truly great with dogs, Maddie is it!”

“Cheryl cared for my beagle like he was her own dog and he enjoyed his time with her. She was very communicative and respectful of my home which I appreciated. I would highly recommend Cheryl and would definitely use her services again in the future.”

“If you are looking for that special sitter to care and love your pet the way you do, then call Nichole. She goes above and beyond to take care of your pet and their needs. Nichole is professional, dependable, and fast to respond. Her updates and photos make my day. Teon S”

About: I bring genuine enthusiasm and reliability to every pet I care for. With my afternoons and evenings consistently available, I'm there when most pet owners need help- during the workday stretch when dogs need a break and that important evening routine when you're stuck at the office. What makes my approach different is that I truly pay attention to each pet's individual personality. Some dogs need a high-energy adventure walk, while others prefer a leisurely stroll with plenty of sniff breaks. I adapt to what makes your pet happiest and most comfortable, not what's easiest for me. I'm observant and communicative. If I notice anything unusual- a change in appetite, energy level, or behavior- I'll let you know right away. I understand that pets can't tell us when something's wrong, so I stay alert and keep you informed with regular photo updates. I also respect that inviting someone into your home requires trust. I'm punctual, follow instructions carefully, and treat your space with care. You'll never wonder if I showed up or how your pet is doing, I make sure you have that peace of mind. While I'm still growing my professional pet care experience, I approach every dog with patience, care, and a commitment to making sure they feel safe and happy while you're away. Your pet isn't just another appointment on my calendar- they get my full attention and care. Pet care is a natural fit for my schedule and lifestyle. With my part-time job ending in the early afternoon, I'm consistently available from afternoon through evening, which means I can offer flexible walking times, accommodate pets who need midday attention, and be there for evening routines when many pet parents are still at work. I build my week around the pets in my care. I keep my afternoons and evenings open specifically for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your furry family members. This isn't something I squeeze in between other commitments, it's a priority I plan for. My routine includes daily walks for my own household, so adding your pup to our route or stopping by for a visit fits seamlessly into what I'm already doing. I'm also home in the evenings, which means I can handle last-minute requests or provide updates with photos after our time together. Whether your dog needs a consistent daily walk at 3pm or you're looking for someone reliable for afternoon drop-ins, my schedule allows me to be dependable and present for your pet's needs. For dog walking, I tailor each walk to your dog's energy level and needs. I start by learning their temperament, any commands they know, and walking preferences. During walks, I keep them engaged and safe, monitoring their behavior, keeping a secure leash grip, and watching for any signs of discomfort or stress. I always bring water for longer walks, pick up after them, and take different routes to keep things interesting. Before heading out, I ensure doors and gates are properly secured, and when we return, I make sure your pup is settled with fresh water. For drop-in visits, I follow your routine as closely as possible to minimize disruption for your pet. I'll feed them according to your schedule and instructions, refresh water bowls, administer any medications if needed, and give them the attention and playtime they crave. I also do a quick home check, securing doors, bringing in mail or packages if requested, and making sure everything is as it should be. I always send photo updates so you can see your pet is happy and well-cared for while you're away. Safety is my top priority in both services. I'm attentive to your pet's body language, careful about potential hazards during walks (other dogs, traffic, weather), and respectful of your home and belongings during visits. I treat every pet like they're my own and every home like it's my responsibility to protect.
About: I have been around animals since I was born and I am very comfortable around them. I have a dog and three cats, myself and have been the sole person responsible for their care. I have also cared for other people’s pets, dogs and cats of all sizes, since I was in high school. I’ve had experience with administering medication, walking/playing, and cleaning up after animals. I know our pets are like members of the family and I would love to care for your fur babies like they are my own! I am currently working a full time schedule Monday-Thursdays and am just looking for a side gig on the weekends to make some extra money. I have a nice, large patio available for romping around on in the sunshine. My neighborhood is very dog friendly and has lots of shady sidewalks to take a stroll on. I also have a nice dog park, for big and small, less than 5 miles away. I have a 5 year old rescue dog who is very sweet and gets along with others when comfortable.
About: I have had animals both cats and dogs my whole life . Started being responsible for them solely for about 30 years ago. My children are all grown now and out of the house most of our animals were their animals that they left when moved out (lol) ,but we didn’t mind. Wefelt they were part of the family. My husband and I now house sit all types of dogs for our friends as the last of our family animals are no longer with us . My husband and I do work full time however we will not take any animal we can not care for or give the time they need . We have a fenced yard for lots of play and comfy surroundings to make your animal feel at home . We also have family dogs that can come by for a visit if your animal needs a friend
“Morgan was a lifesaver who immediately came to take care of my cats when I needed an emergent pet sitter. I am so grateful for how quick and thoughtful she was in the care of my cats! Definitely would book again!”
About: From a young age, my passion for animals has been a lifelong commitment. My deep connection began with rescuing a stray kitten at five years old, and since then, I have devoted my life to being a compassionate caretaker. This includes rescuing and rehabilitating injured animals I find, and regularly helping neighbors by caring for their pets. My entire life has been surrounded by animals, and I treat every one as if they are my own. I currently share my home with two dogs, whom I consider my world. My remote work arrangement provides a flexible schedule, which means I have the availability to seamlessly integrate pet care in to my weekly or daily routine. I have a fenced in yard and live in a very pet friendly neighborhood, allowing me to exercise your pets, by walking or letting them run loose in the backyard. When it comes to watching pets in clients home, I will adhere to there instructions, respecting there home and privacy.
“Bradi was able to be at the house in very short notice. We have two older dogs one is blind and deaf. She showed up when she was asked to and took excellent care of our pups. I recommend her services to anyone looking for a dog sitter she did multiple daily visits to our home.”

About: Hi! I’m Julianna, and animals have always been my people- dogs especially. I’m college educated with a background in psychology, and my hands-on experience includes working as a veterinary assistant and training under the animal behaviorist at Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, where I developed a real eye for canine body language and communication. I know what a relaxed dog looks like, what an anxious one needs, and how to read the subtle signals in between. I have a particular soft spot for senior dogs. I’ve loved and owned a few myself, navigating medications, mobility needs, and the extra patience and tenderness that comes with caring for an older animal. If your senior pup needs someone who genuinely gets it- I do! I believe every dog has its own personality and pace, and I’m never in a rush to push past what they’re comfortable with. Whether your pup is confident and social or a little shy and particular, I’ll meet them wherever they are. Outside of time with animals, I’m happiest outdoors- hiking, backpacking, and camping are my reset buttons, so a long walk or an adventure with your dog is genuinely my idea of a great day. When I’m not with dogs, I’m usually with my cat Harry, who has made it very clear that he runs the household. So yes, I’m also fully vetted by a feline. I originally joined Rover in 2018 and recently returned after an extended hiatus. Since coming back, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for some wonderful dogs and building relationships with clients who have trusted me with their pets- and welcomed me back for repeat stays. I’m always happy to arrange a complimentary meet and greet so you can see firsthand how I interact with your pet and make sure we’re a good fit before committing to anything. I’d love to meet your dog and earn their trust — and yours 😊🐕🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into the rhythm of my day rather than feeling like an add-on. I keep a flexible schedule that allows me to be genuinely present and attentive- not rushed between commitments. Whether it’s a morning walk, midday check-in, or an extended stay, I prioritize showing up consistently and on time. Animals pick up on stress and distraction, so I make a point of bringing calm, focused energy to every visit. Every pet and household is different, so I always start by learning the specific routines, preferences, and needs of each animal before anything else. I follow your pet’s established schedule as closely as possible- familiar routines reduce anxiety and help them feel secure in your absence. I’m comfortable administering medications, managing special dietary needs, and handling the extra care that senior or high-needs pets require. Your home and your pet’s comfort are always treated with the same respect I’d want for my own ❤️

About: Hi, I'm Toi, and I understand how important it is to feel completely comfortable leaving your home and beloved pets in someone else’s care. I am conscientious about keeping a home clean, secure, and cared for, and I treat every home as I would want someone to treat my own. I’m attentive to details, reliable about following instructions, and proactive when it comes to communication. I enjoy the simple pleasures of life, spending time with animals, getting outside and watching soccer. For me, house and pet sitting is about more than just watching a home or feeding a pet. It’s about providing peace of mind to the people who are away and making sure their pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while they’re gone. I would be honored to care for your home and your furry family members as if they were my own. Pet care is a consistent part of my life, I have my own dog, and I've been pet and house sitting for over ten years. Caring for animals isn't occasional for me, it's a daily habit, whether it's my own dog's routine of feeding, walks, and playtime, or looking after someone else's pets while they're away. I treat every animal I care for as if it were my own, making sure their feeding schedule, exercise, and comfort stay consistent even when their owners aren't there. I'm also very respectful of the homes I stay in, treating each one with the same care and attention to detail I'd want if it were mine. When I'm sitting at a client's home, I follow their pet's normal routine as closely as possible with consistent feeding times, walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions they provide, like medications or special diets. I treat their home and their pet with the same respect and attention I'd want for my own, keeping the house clean and undisturbed, and making sure their pet gets the same love and consistency they're used to when their owner is home.
About: Ever since I started working at a doggy daycare I’ve fallen in love with every part of animal care. Whether it’s keeping them and their space clean or giving them the proper amount of exercise and socialization I am happy to do it all. I have experience giving medications, injecting medications, handling senior dogs and cats. I also have experience raising newborn kittens and handling reactive, very strong dogs. I work full time at a doggy daycare in Jupiter and am hoping to broaden my experience as well as make some extra money on the side. For the most part I have a set schedule that I’m flexible to work around and I have my own vehicle so transportation is never an issue. I am eager to create a platform for myself and build a client base that has trust in me. I am well versed in monitoring behavior and excretions and can be knowledgeable when it comes to sudden changes. I am meticulous in the way I care for pets when it comes to medications and specific instructions. I don’t allow myself to indulge in distractions that could jeopardize the level of care, and am quick to document and communicate any issues or celebrations.

About: I’M BACK IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY🤗 About me: For the past 12 years, I’ve been deeply involved in fostering, volunteering, boarding and walking, which has allowed me to work with dogs of all ages, breeds, and needs. I started providing dog walking and boarding services at 20 years old, and have since gained a wealth of experience in handling different temperaments and behavioral challenges. My passion since I was a kid is to work with animals and one day open my own non-profit shelter. Since I graduated university, I aim to focus on growing my services and showing the community that I am the best for your pets needs. About my experience: l administer medications: oral medications, injections, applying topical treatments, etc. I also have specialized training in working with puppies. For example: recall and obedience training (not potty training). I have extensive experience with senior dogs, who often require extra care, patience, and understanding. I’m attentive to their needs, mobility issues or health concerns. I will make sure they feel safe and comfortable at all times. My home is their home away from home. There is plenty of room to explore, play, or relax without feeling confined. My home is an stress-free, open environment where your pets can feel at ease while you’re away. (I have a dog of my own, a beagle mix breed. He’s extremely friendly and loves making new friends. If your dog is not dog friendly, I recommend booking me for drop in visits or house sitting!) Pet care is at the core of my daily and weekly routine. I dedicate my days to walking, running, and taking care of animals, ensuring they get the exercise, attention, and care they need. My mornings usually start with walking and feeding the dogs in my care, followed by runs or extended walks for those with higher energy levels. Throughout the day, I maintain a consistent schedule for feeding, playtime, and any special needs, like administering medication or training sessions. Each week, I structure my routine around the specific needs of each pet, whether it’s incorporating more outdoor activities for younger, energetic dogs or providing gentle care and companionship for senior pets. This balance allows me to give individualized attention to each animal while ensuring they feel comfortable and well cared for. My entire day revolves around ensuring pets are happy, healthy, and thriving. Whether caring for pets in my home or my client’s home, I provide a personalized approach based on their individual needs. In my home, pets enjoy a spacious, open-floor-plan environment where they can move freely and comfortably. I maintain a structured routine that includes regular walks, feeding times, playtime, and quiet periods for rest. With my experience in training puppies and senior care, I’m attentive to any specific needs, such as administering medication, managing mobility issues, or focusing on behavioral training. If I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I follow their established feeding, exercise, and medication schedules, ensuring the pet remains comfortable in their familiar environment. I also keep open communication with the owner, sending regular updates and photos to provide peace of mind. Regardless of the location, I prioritize creating a stress-free, loving environment where the pet feels safe and cared for at all times.
“My pets and me loves Jan. She's always on time or few minutes early. She is always mindful with the checklist. She sends me photo as proof that the checklist has been done. Since we found Jan we haven't had any other sitter, we are happy with her and trust her.”

About: I have had cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, etc. My whole life. I have 2 dogs of my own. A frenchie and a rescue mix from Puerto Rico. Being a reascue dog mom, I understand the special needs that some of them need. My dogs are a part of our family and I know how special and important they are to us and will give them the best care! I am a teacher so I work the normal daily hours of 7 to 4 and have the weekends off and holidays off. This allows me to be available for those evening walks or for your weekend get aways. Although I have 2 dogs they are not always friendly with others. Therefore, I am more than willing to stay at your house so they are not alone and take them for as many walks as they need. My husband will be able to stay with our 2 pups and I'll be able to love on yours. I love walking and love it more when I have a companion with me. I have watched several of our friends cats and dogs right at their house.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Juno Ridge
Alyssa was fantastic!! Very communicative throughout our time away, and we always received a thorough update about our baby each day. It was great to see how our cat bonded with her over the course of the week. Would recommend Alyssa to anyone looking for someone thoughtful and caring to watch your babies.

Caroline has been amazing with our 12-week-old puppy, Knox! She is so sweet and attentive with him. Knox absolutely loves when Caroline comes over and is always so excited to see her! Having someone we can trust with such a young puppy gives us so much peace of mind. Caroline is reliable and does a great job giving Knox the attention, playtime, and care he needs. We’re so happy we found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their fur baby! 🐾

Ireland is a very kind, gentle person, and has been extraordinarily patient with our cat, Ani. Our cat has trouble with everyone except for me and my husband and we really appreciate how patient Ireland has been with her every time she pet-sits, despite the hissing and hiding. Ireland is very responsive, always making sure to share updates on the timing of her visits and it makes us feel at ease when we are away from home.

We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! From the very beginning, she was professional, reliable, caring and she is a great communicator. Even though our cat is very shy and skittish, she was clearly comfortable and well cared for, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. We received regular updates, photos, and thoughtful messages that showed genuine attention to detail and love for animals. It was obvious that our cat’s routine, comfort, and personality were truly respected. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a spotless space. I would absolutely recommend Carly to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and attentive cat sitter - and we will definitely be booking again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
