Safety, trust & environment

Again, as an owner myself, I know the trust and responsibility that comes with looking after our pets. I also know what we expect as owners so I can promise you will definitely receive too many photos and regular updates as a minimum to give you peace of mind at all times. I also am no stranger to fussy eaters or sensitive stomachs as I have navigated that with Roo all her life as well as knowing what constitutes a proper walk and ensuring our dogs are well exercised.

Information Michael F. would like to know about your pet

Any behavioural preferences you encourage when meeting new people? Sociability with other dogs? Known commands? Off leash & recall behaviour? What their daily and nightly routine is (home stay)? Likes/dislikes to be mindful of? Eating habits and schedule if feeding is required? Favourite toys/treats/parks?

A typical day

Treating them as I would my own dog - ensuring they are well exercised whether thats a nice long walk exploring or zoomies at a park with their favourite ball or toy. Brain games and training exercises to occupy them at the house can also be good stimulus, particularly if the weather's not the greatest, to make sure they're still occupied and having fun.

Pet care experience

I overcame an initial childhood fear of dogs by firstly rescuing a senior mutt as a family, aptly named Scruffy, before then adopting a Golden Retriever puppy, Angus, who I grew up with as a brother. This instilled the responsibility and love only an owner can truly understand that I have carried with me since. In addition to the dogs, my childhood was also filled with adopting and looking after pets of all shapes and sizes - with multiple cats co-existing in peace, rodents, reptiles, birds... So am no stranger to knowing how to juggle a zoo. After I lost my best friend Angus, my partner and I bought a Retriever puppy of our own, Roo, nearly 5 years ago, who is my entire world. I personally trained her from a baby velociraptor to the angel she is today and a registered service animal, with everyone who meets her praising how well behaved and perfect she is. Alongside raising her, I have also dog-sat, walked, and helped train numerous friends and neighbours dogs over the years - of varying ages, breeds and temperaments. This includes a senior, German Shepherd rescue who is unfortunately, aggressively reactive and therefore requires extra attention and care when in my responsibility. In addition to multiple puppies at various stages of development, introducing them to social situations for the first times and learning basic behavioural commands. I am also experienced and comfortable walking two strong dogs at a time, incase your household comes with double trouble. As a result, and as an owner myself, I understand and respect the individual requirements of each dog to ensure your loved ones are most comfortable when I am trusted to look after them.

Micheal was fantastic from the first point of contact . Communication was excellent before caring for Holly and Kobe and during the time they were in his care. Micheal ensured he had all the information he needed to care for Holly and Kobe . He took the time to get to know them before we went away . Whilst we was on holiday Micheal would send daily updates with photos. We did not have to worry about Holly and Kobe whilst on holiday as we knew they were being well cared for . We had two happy dogs on our return from holiday and they have not sulked with us for the first time for leaving them !

Michael is always so caring with animals and his love for them is very clear to see. While watching our 3 Goldens and Golden/Chow Mix dogs, Millie, Lucky and Nash, Michael went above and beyond to make sure they were loved, safe, exercised, trained and happy. I call him the dog whisperer because every time the dogs see him they absolutely light up and it shows how much the dogs love Michael as well. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for someone responsible and caring to watch their pets because he treats them like family.
