About: I have been around pets my whole life and am intuitively perceptive and can pick up when they need something or when something is off. My first priority is to make sure that you are confident your dog will be in good hands and the most important goal is to make sure your dog is stress free and well cared for while you are away. Whatever your dog's needs are, I can accommodate and will follow your instructions. I know what it is like to be worried with their wellbeing and hoping that everything will go well while we are away. As a child we had dogs, cats, fish, canaries, parakeets, hamsters -- you get the picture! The first family dog we had was a Boxer, Honey. Honey became so strong, my father couldn’t walk her so he rehomed her to a farm. From then on we adopted Poodles both toy, miniature and then standard. In 1987 I went to the SPCA and rescued my first dog: Schatzie, a springer spaniel mix who loved to hunt gofers. Most of my dogs have been rescue. These are the breeds I have had: Poodles, Dachsund, Samoyed, Rottweiler, Blue Tick Hound, Jack Russell Terrier, Black Mouth Cur and Siberian Husky. Most of my dogs have come with emotional issues due to abuse, negligence and trust issues. I have nurtured them slowly and helped them learn to be happy, relaxed dogs. Before dog walking was even a career (1980), I became a dog walker and dog sitter while I was studying in Boston. I cared for a Saint Bernard “Sulki” and a mutt. I still have the letters of recommendation from way back then. Through the years I have also cared for my neighbor's dogs. I love all animals but dogs hold a special place in my heart, especially senior dogs. At the moment I do not have a dog. 5 years ago during the beginning of the lockdown, I decided to volunteer at a rescue foundation called "Compassion Without Borders" in Santa Rosa, CA by fostering dogs and helping train them. My last dog came from Compassion Without Borders. Tino, a Black Mouth Cur, was a foster fail. He came to me when his owner passed away. He was already 8 years old and deeply depressed; he also had neurological issues (his hind legs trembled constantly) which I help minimize. He was with me for 5 years and passed away last year. I have been around puppies, young and senior dogs. I have experience handling and training them as well. I have administered oral medication and also given shots. I have experience delivering insulin as I had a rex rabbit who became diabetic. Having helped all of my dogs reach ripe old ages of 15 1/2, I have a lot of experience with senior dogs and special needs. One of my dogs developed Cushings disease. Some of my dogs developed arthritis and required special massage. I trained in Healing Touch specifically to help my dogs. I can provide extensive exercise if need be with long walks and extended play time in my large fenced in yard. Or I can adapt, by paying attention to what the dog needs. I work from home with energy medicine. As a morning person, I love starting my day with early morning walks (especially to avoid the Florida heat). Since I have had dogs most of my life, I am used to their routine: letting them out first thing so that they can relieve themselves, morning feeding time, potty breaks and taking breaks to let them play in my large fenced in backyard and then evening walks. If your dog loves long walks, I do too. My neighborhood and house is quiet which means a relaxing atmosphere. If your dog is a senior dog, I can adapt to their needs. They will never be forced to do more than they are able to. Also, I speak Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. I have a large fenced in yard and no pets at the moment so they will have my undivided attention. If your dog likes to spend time in the crate, there is plenty of space for that. I know that keeping to a routine is important and will follow whatever routine you have established for your dog. I am flexible and super attentive.

We came on vacation with Marlo but still wanted to do some day-long family excursions. Katelyn came and walked our Yorkie. Loved that she was out with her for the full time. Really appreciated her and the option of having Rover.

Brian is an amazing dog sitter! Our dogs were comfortable with him the second they met him. He was consistently on time to feed and walk the boys and always sent a quick summary and pictures to hold us over until we could get back home to them. We will definitely be asking Brian to watch our dogs again in the future!

Being a working mom, it is hard trying to do it all. I was in a bind and needed help. My friend recommended to try Josh on Rover. I have never had any experience with Rover before, but I had no choice as I needed the help. I booked with Josh which was super-fast and easy. He approved the walk right away. Well, I would too if you saw a picture of my sweet dog. Josh was punctual and seems like a really nice gentleman. Nala was so happy to go on a walk, she just darted out the door with him. Josh made sure to give nala all the love I would have given her if I had the time to walk her. This experience with Rover and Josh as a walker was wonderful. I would highly recommend using Josh.

About: I’ve had a dog by my side since the day I was born. In fact, the only time in my entire life I haven't had a pup around was a single year during college, and that was one year too many. Dogs are a constant in my life, not just a hobby. I have a strong passion for working with disabled and special needs animals. Whether it's managing mobility issues, administering medication, or providing the extra patience required for physical or behavioral challenges, I’m fully committed to that level of care. I’m also very experienced with resource guarding and high energy breeds. I don’t just watch dogs; I work to understand their specific personality and needs so they feel safe and supported. Working from home gives me the flexibility to be truly present and attentive during the week. I am available Monday through Saturday for drop ins, dog walks, vet visits, conditioning sessions, dog transport, or love bombs. I am generally free to help out starting at 2:00 PM on weekdays and have much more open availability on Saturdays. I do not offer services on Sunday. I focus on high quality mobile care for your pups during the week. My priority is being entirely respectful of both your dog’s comfort and your home environment. I understand that every dog has a specific routine and safe space, and I make it a point to maintain that structure to keep stress levels low. You can count on me to be professional and meticulous with your property. I treat every home with the same level of care and respect I’d want for my own. Whether we are out for a walk or hanging out inside, I focus on clear communication and safety so you have total peace of mind.

About: While I’m new to Rover, I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and have always been a big dog lover. In 2022, my family got our dog Roxi, who is like my best friend. With Roxi, I’ve been fully involved in everything, walking her, feeding her, training her, and making sure she stays active and happy. I’ve also grown up helping to look after family dogs when relatives go away, so I’m used to different personalities and routines. I’m originally from Ireland and recently moved to Florida after completing my MBA at Marshall University in West Virginia. I now coach youth soccer, so I’m very active, responsible, and used to being around people (and animals) all the time. Moving to the U.S. has been a big change for me, and being away from my family and my own dog has definitely made me miss them a lot, and it’s made me appreciate even more how much I love being around dogs every day. I’d say I’m quite laid-back, reliable, and easy to get along with. I like being outdoors, staying active, and I’m always up for a walk or keeping a dog company rather than just sitting around. I’m also very respectful of people’s homes and routines, and I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I know how much dogs mean to their owners because mine means everything to me, so I always treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I’m happy to send updates and photos as well, so owners feel completely comfortable while they’re away. Right now, I coach soccer in the evenings during the week and sometimes on weekends, usually for a couple of hours. Outside of that, my schedule is very flexible. I’m generally available in the mornings, afternoons, and often evenings for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. My coaching hours are not long, so I’m able to work around pet care easily and adjust my schedule when needed. I take care of pets in their own homes so they can stay comfortable in a familiar environment. I make sure they’re well looked after with things like feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and giving medication if needed. I also keep things clean and stick to their usual routine as much as possible. I always spend time with the pets too, whether that’s playing with them or just keeping them company so they don’t feel lonely while you’re away. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you know how they’re doing. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for the whole time.

We had a great introduction and walk. Our dog is afraid of new people, but with proper introduction (and the right treats) he warms up well. For this first walk we where present the whole time to make sure our dog’s comfort and confidence would open up. We wanted to find a Rover person who in future we could possibly board with. So we needed him to be happy and relaxed with the new Rover person. At first our dog was nervous and wary, which historically he usually is with new people. But after a bit time and space, yummy treats, and remaning a comfortable walking distance apart from Joshua, his curiousity grew enough where he was willing to approach. Josh got down to his level and which allowed our dog to approach Josh on his own will. When that moment happened we rewarded his curiousity with lots of praise and yummy treats. From then on we walked side by side with Joshua, and our dog warmed up enough where he was frequently looking back anticipating more pets and treats from Joshua during the walk. Joshua also asked us great questions about our dog and his history, to figure out how to best work with him. In the end our dog was so happy when Joshua said “good bye Stitch,” he actually did one last hop-skip towards Josh even though we were getting ready to go to our car the opposite direction away. We have much gratitude for the opportunity to work with Joshua to socialize him more. We are planning on booking in the future for some types of walks too and would be willing to board if needed.
