“First time using Rover. We feel very fortunate to have found Sinthiana. She took time to listen and understand both of our dogs different personalities and behaviors. She’s very knowledgeable and organized and her home is set up for pet care and with a nice sized backyard.”

“This was my first time using Rover, so I was a bit nervous leaving my pup. Tracey put my worries at ease and provided a great day care for my dog while I was away, she sent pictures during the day which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend her services.”

About: After losing our beloved senior pup at 16, we discovered how much we loved taking care of friends and family's dogs! Since then we have adopted Penny who gets along fabulously with other dogs, male or female. I'm looking forward to spending time with your dog! We treat all our fur guests as if they were our own. I like to walk twice a day, in the morning and evening. Both my husband and I work from home so one of us is available to care for anything your pup needs. Walk 2Xday always on leash. Usually feed 2Xday. We can let them out to the backyard as needed. Always have fresh water indoors and in the backyard.
“Qui was absolutely wonderful with Theo. He took the time to really get to know him and care for him like he was his own. He sent daily photos and/or videos to show Theo and Duke having a wonderful day together! Theo can be a bit timid at first but each day when I went to pick Theo up he always ran back to Qui to give him snuggles and kisses. In addition, Qui was super flexible with our schedules and helped to accommodate our pick up and drop off times! We will obviously be using him again in the future! :) Thank you!”

“I couldn’t be happier, Paige is so kind and friendly, and my lil pug had an amazing time! Paige sent me pics and texts a lot! And because she has other dogs, my puppy got to socialize! I am so grateful.”

“Deanna provided amazing care to my husky puppy! She was very accommodating with dropping her off. I could tell my pup was very happy at the end of the day with Deanna, and slept the night away when she got home to me with all the activity she was given. Definitely will be having Deanna host my puppy in the future!”
About: Since moving to the USA two years ago, I have missed the joy of having pets in my home. I am an avid animal lover with a deep sense of responsibility, and I’m looking to share that affection with your furry family members. My two young sons (ages 4 and 5) have been taught from day one how to be gentle and respectful toward animals. We provide a calm, supervised, and loving environment where your pet will be treated like one of our own. Whether it’s play, walks, or quiet companionship, we are ready to surround your pet with care and attention! I'm currently working part-time remotely. I am available for walks from 7.30 am till 12.00 and from 4.00 pm till 8 pm. I'm available for boarding during all the week. Your pet’s routine is my priority! My part-time remote work schedule means I am home throughout the week to provide consistent care and cuddles. I am available for walks during the early morning (7:30 AM – 12:00 PM) to get their energy out, or in the late afternoon and evening (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM). For boarding, my home is open all week long, ensuring your furry friend has a safe, loving, and supervised place to stay while you’re away.
“Zhian took excellent care of Leo! He got along well with the whole family and they were super attentive to his needs. She sent tons of pictures and updates during Leo’s first stay. Thank you for taking great care of my boy!”

About: Because your babies deserve more than just a place to stay, they deserve care that feels calm, consistent, and genuinely loving. 💕 ⠀ Hi, I’m Lisa! 🐾 I’m a retired, lifelong dog and cat lover offering calm, loving, one-on-one care in a peaceful, low-stress home. ⠀ After recently saying goodbye to my own beloved dogs, I’m ready to welcome pets back into my heart and home. I understand that pets are family, and I’ll care for your dog with the same love, attention, and tenderness I gave my own. ⠀ Your dog will receive personalized care based on their routine, personality, and energy level, and they’ll never be left alone for long periods. My goal is to help every dog feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. ⠀ A Typical Day 🗓️ Each day is tailored to your dog's needs and usually includes walks, fresh air, sniffing adventures, playtime, and plenty of relaxation. Depending on the weather and your dog's preferences, we may enjoy neighborhood strolls or explore nearby Austin trails. ⠀ Play, Rest & Lots of Love 🎾 Whether your dog enjoys fetch, tug-of-war, leisurely walks, or simply lounging nearby, I provide a balance of activity, comfort, and companionship throughout the day. When your dog stays with me, their happiness, safety, and well-being are always my top priorities. I’ll do my best to follow their normal routine and provide the love and reassurance they’re accustomed to at home. 🫶🏼 📆 Schedule:⠀ Pet care is a central part of my daily and weekly routine, and I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to truly prioritize the pets in my care. Because I’m available and home often, I can accommodate early mornings, midday walks or check‑ins, evening care, overnight stays, and custom routines. ⠀ I’m happy to accept last‑minute bookings when availability allows, as well as extended stays and holiday care. I also do my best to prioritize repeat clients whenever possible, since I love building long‑term relationships with pets and their families. If your pet has stayed with me before, I’m always happy to welcome them back—it helps me provide even more personalized, consistent care each time. 🏠 Safety, Trust & Environment: Your pet's safety comes first. Whether they're staying in my home or receiving drop-in visits, I carefully follow their routine, preferences, and any special care instructions: ⠀ Safety Checklist ✔️ ⠀ ⠀ • Fully fenced yard ⠀ ⠀ • Supervised outdoor time ⠀ ⠀ • One-family-at-a-time boarding ⠀ ⠀ • Secure doors and gates ⠀ • Regular photo updates 📸 ⠀ ⠀ • Close monitoring of behavior and well-being. Whether it's boarding in my home or drop-in visits, my goal is to keep your pet happy, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible—so you can enjoy your time away knowing they're in good hands.🐾💕
About: I’ve cared for pets for over 5 years, including dogs of all sizes and temperaments as well as cats with unique personalities. I’ve helped with puppy training, senior pet care, and even administered oral medications when needed. What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals — I treat every pet as if they’re my own. I understand how important trust and consistency are, so I make sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved at all times. I also enjoy keeping pet parents updated with photos and little stories about their furry friends’ day! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine — I love starting and ending my day with walks, playtime, and snuggles. My flexible schedule allows me to give full attention to your pet’s needs, whether it’s morning potty breaks, midday walks, or overnight stays. I make sure each visit includes exercise, affection, and care tailored to your pet’s personality and comfort. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. In my home, pets have a clean, calm space to relax and play, with constant supervision. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I follow all instructions closely, maintain routines, and ensure doors, gates, and leashes are always secure. I take time to learn about your pet’s habits, triggers, and preferences so I can create a stress-free environment. I believe in positive reinforcement and gentle handling — your pet will always feel safe, loved, and well cared for.

About: Your dog will have plenty of companionship, outdoor time, and a calm place to relax while staying with me. I work from home as a furniture flipper, so I am present most of the day and can follow your dog’s usual feeding, potty, walking, and rest schedule. I may host up to two other dogs at a time, so guests must be friendly and well socialized with other dogs. Many dogs enjoy the companionship of our small group. I provide the primary care for every stay, and my trusted assistant may also spend time playing fetch and giving your dog extra petting and cuddles. Social dogs may accompany me on appropriate outings, while dogs who prefer quiet can relax comfortably at home. I have a large backyard for supervised outdoor time and live in a shady, walkable neighborhood that is well suited for regular walks. I began sitting frequently in 2020, when working from home made it possible for me to provide more consistent care. I love getting to know each new friend and helping them feel comfortable, secure, and as though they are enjoying an adventure of their own. Boarding dogs are rarely left alone for more than a few hours. During house sitting, I may occasionally be away for up to four hours, though usually less than two. Friendly dogs may join me on dog-friendly outings. In summer, I often use indoor locations such as Home Depot for exercise without the heat. Care is tailored to each dog’s routine and needs. Dogs may join me on appropriate outings like Home Depot or a hike, and are welcome to sleep with or near me if that makes them more comfortable during their stay.

Sinthiana took excellent care of my Husky Aslan. She sent me updates throughout the day and photos during Aslan’s stay. My dog wasn’t feeling well yesterday and she kept a close watch on him throughout the day and updated me. She’s an excellent sitter and I plan on booking with her frequently in the future. I’m extremely happy with the care she provided. Highly recommended!

Elizabeth was wonderful. She sent us pics and videos throughout the day! Ollie looked like he was enjoying himself and came home very tired. Elizabeth also communicates with us very well answering any questions I have etc. we have been very pleased with the care she gives our little Ollie.

I appreciate how considerate and intentional Amber is with all the animals she cares for. She made sure my girl was introduced slowly and calmly into the house and with the other dogs. She was also very observant, worked with her to understand her behaviors and clearly gave her a lot of attention. She must have played the whole day because the girl was passed out as soon as we got home. This was the best Rover experience I've had to date!

Val and her husband are the best dog sitters we’ve found in Austin! We’ve gone to a few people now, but our dog Nala loves going back to their place and always leaves super happy. Their dog, Eevee, is also very sweet and Nala has the best time with her! We can tell she gets tons of love and attention there. Val’s also very reliable/trustworthy especially if you have specific instructions for your dog like we do - she makes sure she’s understanding everything correctly and we’ve never had any problems with her not doing something! She even sends photos and updates regularly. Val is our go-to dog sitter now and we love having her around to watch our dog!! We highly recommend her 😊

Ashley took our dog waffle last minute and a lot of times I’m pretty nervous to leave him with someone without a meet and greet but she did a really phenomenal job with him. She quickly learned what he needed and stayed in communication the entire time. He got a lot of exercise throughout the day and came back happy and well taken care of

Scott, Hudson and Tucker are wonderful! We could tell they really care about my little pupper. He went out of his way to make sure my smaller dog was comfortable with his super sweet lab Tucker. Scott is a great and quick communicator. They have a clean house and nice backyard for dogs. Did I mention how sweet and gentle Tucker the lab is? 🐶

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
