About: I worked in the dog grooming industry for 20 years. I've bathed and walked every kind of dog! I love animals and at my age walking is all I'm up for now lol I'm retired but still need the love of a dog. The variety I had at the grooming shop has left me wanted it again. I have 2 small older dogs whom I've had since they we're puppies. But they sleep a lot and aren't up to walking anymore... So this is a happy alternative for me. I'm a strong 68 yr old woman who would take great care in walking your dog 😊
“Rachel was great with my pup Chester! She sent lots of pictures and I could tell he was happy and well cared for. Would definitely use her again!”

“Eddie was so amazing with tyler, He made me feel safe leaving tyler with him over the night. Tyler wasn’t lonely he also made a new friend to play with was definitely a plus for us !”

“Repeat customer of Emma’s always flexible and communicative. Always send great pictures of our boy and is always a pleasure to work with. Cooper loves being over there, could not speak more highly of a boarder. Emma makes the process so seamless and makes me feel as though I don’t need to worry when I go out of town. 10/10 recommend.”

About: I've had dogs in my life for over 20 years, since I was a kid, and they've always been part of my family! I've primarily owned Boxers and, more recently, a Doberman, giving me experience with large and energetic breeds. I also completed several weeks of professional training with both dogs to become a more knowledgeable and confident owner! In addition to raising my own dogs, I've assisted with the birth of a litter and helped care for newborn puppies, giving me experience through every stage of a dog's life! I'm comfortable with dogs of all personalities and energy levels and love keeping them active with playtime, neighborhood walks, and lots of attention. I'll care for your dog with the same patience, love, and dedication that I gave my own! I work a Monday-Thursday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the office and Fridays from home. Before and after work, I'll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, and potty breaks. On Fridays and weekends, I have even more flexibility to spend quality time playing, going for walks, and making sure your pup feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for! I have a large, fully fenced backyard with plenty of room to run and play, along with a doggy door so they can let themselves out for potty breaks or some playtime whenever they want. There are also plenty of balls and toys to keep them entertained! Since I don't currently have any pets of my own, your dog will have my full attention in a calm, comfortable environment. If your dog is crate trained, I have a crate available and am happy to maintain their normal routine. Just let me know your dog's schedule, favorite activities, feeding routine, and any special instructions, and I'll do my best to keep everything as consistent as possible while you're away!
About: I have taken care of dogs all of my life & LOVE them. I work from home in a professional job, so I have plenty of time to take care of animals during the day and I take my dog out on four walks a day. I also have a good sized, enclosed yard. I am extremely hyper vigilant, so your pet will always be taken care of with me. I treat dogs like children and My Mika is extremely spoiled. She gets along with all other dogs and cats. I currently work from home full-time, so I have plenty of time to care for animals in my home. I take my dog out on four walks a day and I have a good size enclosed yard. I have a fenced yard with sod. I don’t leave my dog out there for long - only to go to the bathroom because she prefers to be inside with me and right now it's too hot. I will accommodate whatever needs your dog has. I have a fenced front yard as well and my dog likes to be on the porch people/dog watching.
“Laura watched my four year old foxhound, Piper over Spring Break. Piper was homesick at first but Laura took special care to help her get adjusted. (She sent me pictures of my 45 lb dog sitting on her lap!) Laura was very communicative sending daily texts, photos, and videos. Piper looked so cute in her St. Patty’s Day scarf she provided. The dogs were very relaxed and were having a good time. Also, her house is away from a busy road for dog walk safety. Laura even made the extra effort to wash Piper’s dog bed before she went home. I highly recommend Laura! She is very caring and attentive.”

“Unfortunately i can only rate out of 5 stars. If i could rate them out of 100 or 1000 then i would. Great family and perfect sitters. Would use them again in the future if the need ever arises. Took cute pics of my dogs with their pup and updated us on everything. My big pit mix baby loved them so much he even slept with their oldest at night. 1000/1000 thank you!”

“Imani was absolutely professional and provided my babies with comfortable accommodations during my 4 day vacation. My dogs are seniors and require a lot of attention and I appreciate how attentive she was to all of their needs. As a dog mom I’m always a bit nervous about leaving my babies behind when I go on vacation, but she put my mind at ease. She sent ample pictures throughout their stay and I’ll definitely be using her again in the future. 5/5 🐾, highly recommended. I would definitely book her now!”

“Kaitland is the best! She has watched our pup a few times now and she has been amazing. I never worry when we drop our little guy off at her place. Thanks, Kaitland!”

“They were so sweet and took great care of our little guy! Sent pictures and updates of walks -will definitely be our go to sitters if they are available! Thank you so much :)”

“We could not be more thrilled with how well our sweet Stella was cared for and loved! We got lots of pictures and videos while we were away, which made being away from our girl easier. We are so very thankful to have found Katie to love our precious pup while we were away! <3”

“Kristall is the absolute best!!!! I've never left any of my pets with a sitter and I was very nervous. Kristall answered all of my questions at our first meeting. I did a day care day to test things out before my trip. Otis had a great time and I no longer had any concerns with leaving him with Kristall. I was able to enjoy my vacation and received frequent updates and pictures. When I went to pick Otis up I don't think he wanted to leave. Thank you so much Kristall for spoiling my little dude!”

“Tannia & Chris do an amazing job watching Brady! They keep us up to date with pictures and videos of him, and he always stays happy & healthy when he is with them.”

“Bailey was absolutely wonderful with my dogs while I was on vacation! She kept in touch regularly and sent lots of great photos, which really put my mind at ease. Both of my pups looked so happy and comfortable in her care. I’ll definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Quick to respond to booking requests. Very friendly and caring sitter. I will recommend her service! She cared for my golden doodle and my dog came home happy and tired.”

“Madison was great! She was available last minute, flexible on the pick up/drop off hours and sent lots of pictures while she was keeping my pup! I will definitely be using her again!”

“Chrissy took fantastic care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. She sent updates and photos, and had excellent communication. 10/10 would return and recommend!”

“We’ve been fortunate to have Charlayda as our pet sitter for years. It’s great to know your pets are being well taken care of while you enjoy vacation without worry. She’s the best!”

“Hannah was an outstanding caregiver for our pooch - she communicated often, which made our decision to leave him there a solid plus! And the perk - afternoon beach walks! I will definitely reach out again whenever we're back in the Country's oldest city!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Jacksonville
Rachel is a loving and caring animal lover. I left my dog and my daughter's dog with her for a week. They were well taken care of and enjoyed all the love they got from Rachel and her adult children. Both of her children were also very good with the dogs. Rachel sent me pictures often and kept me informed on how they were doing. The dogs looked like they were having a great time. I also loved that she took them for a walk at least 3 times a day and had a fenced yard. They got along well with Rachel's dogs. I will definitely use Rachel again. She took such wonderful care of our dogs.

Rachelle is awesome. She sent us pictures and my dogs looked comfortable staying with her. When we picked them up, they both looked happy and looked familiar with Rachelle so I think they were comfortable staying with her and liked her. They didn't forget letting Rachelle know they appreciated her by going back to her and let her pet them one more time before we left.

We can't say enough good things about Brent and David. This was the first time our two, 8 1/2 year old Boxers have been away from us for 8 days. We had left them a day or two with our daughter in the past and through that experience, we discovered they don't eat for a day or two over separation anxiety and basically mope. Not the case here! These pups didn't miss a beat! Healthy appetite every day, plenty of exercise with walks and outdoor playtime, sofa lounging, treats, love, pets, full - hands-on attention and just happy. Our guilt and worry disappeared pretty rapidly after seeing the daily photos and video we received. We could not have dreamed or asked for better care of our fur babies. We can now take trips without concern and will always use Brent and David! Our dogs were loved. Highly recommend, A+, Five Star #happyfurbabies #BrentandDavid #Rover

Michael did an amazing job boarding my dog for the week. He kept me updated, made sure my dog was well cared for, and treated her like family. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in great hands. Highly recommend Michael to anyone needing reliable and caring pet boarding!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
