“I recently moved to Jacksonville and interviewed 4 sitters before I found Tannia and Chris. As soon as I met them I knew they were the ones! Beautiful people, beautiful home, beautiful experience. My Frenchie is 6 years old and this was the first time I left her with ‘strangers’. My little Frida is very attached to me- but I had to pry her out of their house to bring her home after my trip. I found my people to watch my pup whenever I go out of town. Tannia and Chris were ‘strangers’ for all of about 10 seconds. They are now Frida’s home away from home- where I know I am leaving her with two caring and thoughtful dog lovers. 💕”

“It’s so AMAZING when you can go away and NOT worry about your precious baby! Kelly is just WONDERFUL - Minnie doesn’t even look back when we drop her off. That’s so IMPORTANT to me, as I know she’s comfortable / content! Kelly is such a CLASS ACT!! Minnie loves her & so do we!! Thank YOU!!”

“Gissell was absolutely amazing! I just moved to the area and was heading to a family reunion when our original sitter had to cancel due to a death in the family. I was so worried about where my pups would stay, but Gissell swooped in with a quick response and immediately put my mind at ease. She treated my dogs like royalty — like they were part of her own family! They had an absolute blast, and I could tell just by how happy and relaxed they were that they truly loved being there. I will absolutely be booking with her again for all future stays. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Blanca is so friendly, kind, and trustworthy. She was so affectionate and caring to our little senior dog, Pepper. She even picked her up from us!! Her home is so nice and calming. We can't say enough amazing things about her!!!”

“I have left my baby many times with Chyna. She is the best! She keeps a daily update, send us pictures and keep us informed. She is very sweet, prompt and efficiently. She is the only one I trust to take care of my dog. I would strongly recommend her without any hesitation”

“This is the first time we’ve used Rover for our dog, and we are so happy we did! :) Taylor took wonderful care of our dog, Xena, and sent us several pictures and updates throughout our trip, which helped put our minds at ease that our dog was doing well and having fun while we were away, and allowed us to enjoy our vacation even more :) We truly appreciate Taylor’s kindness, flexibility, and compassionate care she demonstrated while keeping our beloved pet for us. We will definitely use her again in the future! :)”

“Patti sent me updates and pictures of our dog KC and took care of her like she was her own. I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Andrew and Kaitlyn are amazing! They did a fantastic job watching Frankie all weekend! They were super reliable and kept me updated with frequent messages and adorable pictures, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. Frankie was clearly well cared for and happy. Pancake was so sweet with Frankie! We’ll absolutely be using them again—highly recommend!!!”

“She did an awesome job! Yekaterina was very accommodating toward our fur baby. She kept us updated with plenty of pictures, made a great suggestion to help our cat gt acclimated to an unfamiliar environment. Would definitely book again!”

“We couldn't have found a better place for our pup to be! Austyn sent daily pictures and updates and our dog loved having such a big fenced in yard to play in! Great experience, will definitely be rebooking with Austyn !”

“Josilyn was great! This is my first time having a puppy and she was able to calm my nerves about it. She was more than happy to work on his obedience training while taking care of him and made sure to get him lots of exercise and play! She is also a dog groomer and was patient with Watson during his first grooming session! Excited to use her again to watch my baby.”

About: I am a former manager at a daycare and boarding facility, I have administered diabetes shots and other medications for animals. I plan to own my own daycare boarding facility in the future. Helping others and working with animals has always been my passion, I initially went to college for veterinary but decided that it wasn’t for me that a Daycare facility was best suited for me and my personality. I currently am a manager at a restaurant I can walk pets before 5:30 am but it didn’t give the option and anytime after 4 pm. I have three friendly dogs who are very socialized they go to doggy daycare and one elderly cat who is 16 and our yard is fenced in and I live down the street from a dog park as well!

“Joshua and Lesley exceeded our expectations. This is the first time we’ve tried pet sitting outside of a boarding. As a family with a very loving but energetic dog we were skeptical if someone would give our pet the care and patience he needs. Joshua and Lesley put our minds at ease since the first day we met them. They are passionately driven professionals and have gained our trust for future sitting. Quick response times, regular updates and lots of pictures. This is the team to get. Your dog will love them.”

“Christopher was very easy to communicate with and sent photos of my dogs throughout the week. He let me know when one of them didn’t seem to be eating normally and he was confident in handling it. My dogs came back happy and without issues.”

“Jerome was awesome with the pups. He probably had more fun than they did!! I will continue to board with Jerome. He clearly cares for and enjoys having boarders.”

Linda was awesome. She kept us updated with pictures and let us know how our Lily (our dog) was doing. I know Lily was spoiled, just like at home, which made me feel good. But besides that she just really seems to love dogs and is super nice and she will be my first pick anytime I need to leave Lily.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
