About: I’ve had animals my entire life, growing up on a small farm and never having a day without a furry friend! I absolutely love all animals, whether domestic or wild, and I’m passionate about giving them the best care possible. I have cared for a wide variety, including those with health issues. My hands-on experience with both healthy and senior pets means I can handle any situation with compassion and expertise. I’m dedicated to giving your pets the best care possible! I’ve also got hands-on experience dog sitting for clients, staying in their homes for extended periods to ensure their pets are happy and well-cared for. While I don’t have formal training, my lifelong experience has equipped me with the knowledge to handle all sorts of situations, including emergencies. I’m reliable, trustworthy, and dedicated to making sure your pets have a great time while you’re away! My schedule is very flexible, and I am available Monday through Sunday to provide your pets with the care and attention they deserve. I’m able to give them plenty of one-on-one time, keep them on their normal routines, and make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and would treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. Your pet’s safety is my priority. I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable when they can stay in their familiar surroundings and keep their normal routines. I will provide plenty of love, attention, playtime, fresh food and water, potty breaks, and whatever individual care your pet needs. I’ll follow your instructions closely and keep you updated with messages and pictures so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I will also treat your home with the same respect and care I would want for my own.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve cared for dogs and cats since I was 10 years old, and I truly treat every pet like family. Recently, I bottle-fed orphaned kittens starting when they were only 3 days old, and watching them grow into healthy, playful 3-month-olds has been incredibly rewarding. I also have 13 spoiled cats of my own, so I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else. You can count on me to provide lots of love, attention, and updates while you’re away. I currently am unemployed so I have plenty of free time! I do have 13 cats of my own who need my attention as well but that won’t be a problem. I will attend to and treat your fur baby as I would my own. I love animals and wouldn’t do any harm to them. They are always safe with me. :)
“Kristie looked after out pit-mix and cat for a weekend and was fantastic. She was gracious and asked great questions during our initial meet and greet. She gave us updates and pics throughout the weekend. She was such a calm presence for our animals while we were away. Our home was clean and looked great, when we returned. We would definitely rebook with her. Thank you Kristie!”

About: Animals have always been a meaningful part of my life, not just a job or responsibility. What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my genuine connection with animals and my ability to understand their individual needs and personalities. I take the time to build trust, especially with pets who may be shy or anxious, and I care for every animal as if they were my own. I am attentive, patient, and reliable, and I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident and at ease while they’re away. My goal is to provide consistent, compassionate care that keeps pets happy and owners reassured. I am a senior in college with a lot of free time, I love to be around and care for animals so this is a good fit for me. When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, receive plenty of attention and playtime, and get the rest they need. I pay close attention to their behavior and well-being, and I’m comfortable following specific instructions, including medication or special care needs. I also keep the home clean and secure, and I communicate regularly with owners to provide updates and peace of mind.

I keep my dogs in my house all the time so they are always surrounded by us and are constantly being cared for and entertained.

About: I have grown up with dogs of my own and cared for animals for many years. I love animals especially dogs. I have one dog of my own named Lilo. I recently moved to the area and would love to get to know you and your fur babies! I am a teacher so I can provide pet care evenings/weekends/ school breaks. About: I have been taking care of animals most of my adult life. I have been the sole owner/operator for the past 10 years of a local pet sitting & walking business. I have taken care of all types and sizes of dogs, from small chihuahua size to small or large laberdoodles to great danes. I have experience in working with dogs who are stubborn eaters, and regular age dogs to senior dogs who require medication and extra care. My rates are very competitive. From a $30 daily walk/check in while at work or have a longer event to attend to a standard overnight which includes a 10 hour overnight stay, like 8pm-6am with 1 mid day potty/meal break. If you need a longer overnight stay like 20 hours round the clock/constant care at your house then the rate will be $150 per night. I have a fabulous list of references from clients that have been with me for anywhere from 4 to the full 10 years in operation. I'm currently only doing 1 weekly dog walking job, unfortunately due to the heartbreaking recent loss of one of my longest daily walking and sitting clients. My current daily walking job is only 3 days a week, any 3 days between M-F and is only for 30/35 mins and can be done anytime between 11am to 3pm. The rest of the time I am currently available and due to the flexibility of the current job, I have a very open availability. I only take dogs on leashed walks and during temperatures that are safe for the dog's health. I'm very respectful of what the parents want and all for the happiness of their dog. I'm very attentive when I'm with the dog to make sure they are safe at all times.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Callahan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Callahan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Callahan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Callahan. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
