About: I've always had a way with dogs and all animals, since I was a child. My positive energy and kind spirit brings animals close to me. Through out my entire life I have walked dogs of friends, family and neighbors, just for the fun of it! About: What sets me apart from many sitters is my lifelong experience with animals and my ability to genuinely connect with them quickly — especially pets who may be anxious, shy, older, highly attached to their owners, or simply used to lots of companionship and attention. Over the years, I’ve helped care for foster litters of puppies and kittens requiring around-the-clock feeding, monitoring, and weight tracking alongside my best friend, who is a veterinarian. I also have veterinary technician and shelter experience, along with hands-on experience caring for senior pets, administering medications, reinforcing basic puppy training, and supporting animals with special routines, anxieties, or medical needs. I’m currently working with one of my own dogs in service dog training, and I’m also a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who previously worked with pre-K children with autism using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. I’m also an avid walker and love spending time outdoors, taking long walks through the beautiful Riverside and Avondale neighborhoods, local parks, and nearby green spaces — especially when the weather cools down a bit. For more active dogs, I genuinely enjoy playtime, walks, fetch, and engagement throughout the day, while calmer pets usually find me just as happy to provide cuddles, companionship, and a peaceful environment. Because I operate my design company remotely and on my own schedule, I’m often able to spend extended time in the home providing companionship, supervision, structure, affection, and a calming presence throughout the day and overnight — not just quick drop-ins. I truly enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and creating an environment where they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and relaxed while their owners are away. Because I own and operate my own boutique design firm, my schedule is highly flexible and allows me to work remotely from anywhere with a reliable internet connection. I’m also involved in tween mentorship and creative consulting, both of which I manage on my own schedule, making it easy for me to prioritize the needs and routines of the pets in my care. I’m naturally both an early riser and a night owl, so I’m available for early morning feedings and walks, late-night potty breaks, overnight companionship, medication schedules, and pets who simply feel more secure having someone nearby throughout the day and evening. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy the companionship, structure, and calm presence animals bring. Whether I’m working quietly from my laptop while keeping your pet company, taking breaks for walks and playtime, or providing attentive overnight care, I’m able to give pets far more presence and consistency than many traditional sitters with rigid work schedules. I have two friendly small dogs and cats of my own, so pets staying in my home should be comfortable around other animals and able to coexist peacefully. I cared for my dog Maya, who was blind and diabetic, and I was responsible for administering her insulin and making sure she stayed safe, comfortable, and happy. I also cared for my soul dog Marcello, who developed anxiety in his later years and needed patience, consistency, and a calm environment. Both of my dogs were seniors who lived long, full lives (15 and 17), so I’m very comfortable with senior care, medication routines, and recognizing subtle changes in behavior or health. About: For 17 years I have been taking care of dogs (really animals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes) both of my own and for others too. There has never been a point in my life that I have not had a dog. Right before I was born, my parents got a beagle that I grew up with. I started taking care of her at a young age (I’d say even later than 17 years ago, just not notable enough to count for it) when she needed special baths for her skin condition, treatments for her ear infections, and catering to her broken arm after getting run over by a car. Before she passed, we got a husky. I helped train (on and off leash commands), groom, trim his nails, and learned how to speak husky. He was a very loved hand full. I learned so much from him because of all the trouble he made from running away, eating glue, chewing up the entire house… you name it, he did it. Through these lessons I have learned not only how to retain my patience and grace, but also how to be a beacon of support and reservoir of love for all fur babies. Nevertheless, when he got older, I gave him shots for his hip dysplasia and ensured he was most comfortable until the day my sister and I sat in the room with him on his way up to doggy heaven. Today, I have a great pyrenees who is a bundle of joy. Again, I have trained her, happily cater to her persistent anxiety--especially with thunderstorms--ensure she is exercised, groomed, and feeling loved. Currently I am working part-time and most of this is at home doing online research for school. Pet care is my daily routine anyways and I have a partner who often stays home to take care of our pup. He certainly supports me needing to fill my cup with more love in my heart from interacting with animals. Nevertheless, I love to help people out. I find that having a good, stable community is the most precious thing we can have as people. It takes a village and I am happy to be apart of that village.
