Chrissy did a great job watching Olive! Her communication was excellent throughout the stay, and we could tell Olive was loved and had the best time with Chrissy’s family. We got lots of adorable pictures, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away — no worries at all. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Chrissy again. Highly recommend!

About: Animals have always been a meaningful part of my life, not just a job or responsibility. What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my genuine connection with animals and my ability to understand their individual needs and personalities. I take the time to build trust, especially with pets who may be shy or anxious, and I care for every animal as if they were my own. I am attentive, patient, and reliable, and I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident and at ease while they’re away. My goal is to provide consistent, compassionate care that keeps pets happy and owners reassured. I am a senior in college with a lot of free time, I love to be around and care for animals so this is a good fit for me. When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, receive plenty of attention and playtime, and get the rest they need. I pay close attention to their behavior and well-being, and I’m comfortable following specific instructions, including medication or special care needs. I also keep the home clean and secure, and I communicate regularly with owners to provide updates and peace of mind.

About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats through pet sitting for friends and family. I have done check ins as well as overnight stays. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away! I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive, reliable care for your pet. I plan my schedule carefully so I can meet each pet’s individual needs and keep their routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. About: I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Growing up I had two Lhasa Apso pups and two cats so caring for pets has been a big part of my life. As they got older, I helped give them their medications and make them feel comfortable. Over the years, my family has added three pups - two Toy Poodles and one Shih Tzu, who I have helped raised since they were puppies. I also have two of my own: an Australian Shepherd and a Bernese Mountain Dog, both whom I have raised since they were 8 weeks old. Through them, I have lots of experience in puppy training and recognizing that each pup is unique and has different needs. I also have experience caring for cats. My childhood cat developed health issues in her senior years, and I helped care for her through monthly vet visits and multiple medications, giving me first hand experience with the extra patience and attention senior cats need. My family also added a friendly tuxedo kitten to the bunch and my boyfriend has a shy cat as well. So I am comfortable caring for cats with outgoing or more reserved feline personalities. I understand that every pet has different needs, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they're in my care. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, or a senior needing extra patience, I'll care for them as if they were my own. I have plenty of time to look after your pup or feline! While I prefer to watch your pet between 8-5 so I can also spend time with my own pets, I understand there are times after work or on the weekends when you need to leave your furry friend to go and enjoy yourself without feeling guilty leaving them behind. In these cases, I can absolutely make exceptions. Every pet has their own routine, preferences, and unique needs so I will take the time to follow your care instructions closely. Whether that's sticking to a feeding schedule, administering medications, or going on walks, I will make sure your pet's routine stays as consistent as possible. My goal is to help your pet feel safe and give you peace of mind knowing your pet is cared for and loved while you're away. I'll care for them the way you ask while also treating them with the same affection and attention I give my own pets. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, so I will do everything to care for them!

Stephanie was AMAZING! She was very proactive in setting up a meet and greet beforehand and asked questions that helped us get to know her. She kept us updated the whole time on how he was and sent photos and pictures to us. She even filmed our pup opening his Christmas gift since we were away for the holiday. Went we came back our house was just as we left it and clean. She even put our recycling and trash at the curb for us. She also left a note and cute little chalkboard for when we got home. We will definitely be using her again!

About: I have had animals all my life growing up as child. Over the years I have learned to play with dogs and learn what they like to do as well as what they do not like to do. I notice the small things about the dog such as if their eating habits change, sleeping habits change and activeness change. I have love dogs so your human companion will feel comfortable and loved. I have worked with puppies, young adult and senior dogs treating each with the care they deserved and giving them the attention they require. Animals are my passion and they will always be in good hands with me. I will take care of your pet and they will feel happy and right at home.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Nassau Village-Ratliff on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,198 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Nassau Village-Ratliff. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nassau Village-Ratliff walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nassau Village-Ratliff maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nassau Village-Ratliff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nassau Village-Ratliff. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
