“Kristie looked after out pit-mix and cat for a weekend and was fantastic. She was gracious and asked great questions during our initial meet and greet. She gave us updates and pics throughout the weekend. She was such a calm presence for our animals while we were away. Our home was clean and looked great, when we returned. We would definitely rebook with her. Thank you Kristie!”

“Mary was great! She accepted to look after our puppy with such short notice. I think Chai really enjoyed her company and we will definitely rebook!”

“Johana was wonderful! She kept us updated with pictures, took great care of our fur babies and the house was in terrific shape when we got home. Will definitely book again!”
About: I’ve grown up with dogs most of my life and have lived with multiple cat owners as well. I feel like pets like my calm and loving demeanor 😊 I enjoy the flexibility this profession allows and I love the outdoors. If your pet wants a long walk in the sun or just needs to stretch its legs in the backyard I’m down for either! 😁 I feel as though my laid back demeanor is great for working with animals and even the pickiest cats have fallen for me. I’m great at reading the body language of animals and know when they want a belly rub or when they want me to sit six feet away.
“Cathryn watched my dog Gracie for 12 days. She was amazing with her and sent me pictures and an update daily. She even had a little birthday party for her since I could not be there with her. I would highly recommend her and will not hesitate using her in the future.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! For four days, Willow went absolutely above and beyond—not only taking incredible care of our dogs, but also treating our home with the utmost respect. We got regular updates, photos, and could truly relax knowing everything was in such good hands. Our dogs were happy, comfortable, and clearly well-loved the entire time. It’s rare to find someone this reliable, thoughtful, and attentive—we’ll definitely be using Willow again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch care!”

“Do not hesitate in hiring Andra! From the moment I met her during our meet and greet I knew that she would be a wonderful fit. She asked lots of questions and made sure that she understood them fully. While we were gone if any questions arose she felt comfortable reaching out to us to question or verify. I am confident that our dogs were very well taken care of. Andra also kept our house immaculate and it was that way upon our return. She also kept us updated daily with text messages and adorable pictures.I would obviously hire her again in a minute. She exceeded our expectations. Thanks Andra”

“Anna was amazing and came to be on site to watch our pups for our wedding weekend, so that we could have our pups with us. She as always goes above and beyond. Our pups love her so much.”

About: I love dogs and I naturally connect with them. I can read their mood and determine when they want to play, rest or walk. I have had 2 dogs in the past, a German Shepherd for 10 years and a Beagle for 2 years. They were amazing dogs. I currently work in weekdays until 3PM. I do not work on weekends. I spend most of my time at home after work and this will allow me look after the dog always. I have a two story house with a fence patio and plenty of room. I have blanket to cover my furniture for the dog to relax on.
About: I have had animals all my life growing up as child. Over the years I have learned to play with dogs and learn what they like to do as well as what they do not like to do. I notice the small things about the dog such as if their eating habits change, sleeping habits change and activeness change. I have love dogs so your human companion will feel comfortable and loved. I have worked with puppies, young adult and senior dogs treating each with the care they deserved and giving them the attention they require. Animals are my passion and they will always be in good hands with me. I will take care of your pet and they will feel happy and right at home.
“Where to even start? If you were thinking of booking Scarlett do so right now because she is the BEST thing to ever happen to us when it comes to someone caring for our babies when we’re gone. She’s so accommodating, empathetic, caring and sweet. She treats not just the animals but the owners like family as well. I don’t think there are enough letters in the alphabet for me to string together the perfect words to describe her. We have found our go-to person for any trips we do on and are so grateful for her. She has become not only our pet sitter but our friend as well and our fur babies love her. Best Rover sitter ever!”

“Aniyah did a great job house sitting our Cane Corso and ChiPin. She kept us updated with pics and took excellent care of our fur babies! She Fed, watered, and administered meds to each. She kept them occupied and they really enjoyed spending time with her. As a bonus, the house was immaculate! I strongly recommend Aniyah for house sitting and look forward to having her on a regular basis.”
“Chaz is a great sitter and my doberman loves the attention he gets from him. Chaz stayed overnight at my house for several days and left the house clean and i could not tell he was even there after i got home and my dog was happy”

About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life. I’m very attentive. I go above and beyond. I am loving and patient with animals of any age I have a Cavalier that is 4 years old. My schedule is flexible. I live in an area with lots of parks and places for your dog to run around I currently live in a small apartment, so I’m not offering pet care in my home at this time. I’m happy to provide walks, drop-ins, or care in your home where your pet is most comfortable.
“Stephanie was amazing! This was our first time leaving the pups for a week (one is only 5 months old and full of energy). She took excellent care of our babies while we were away. She sent us photos and videos of the pups with updates. She went above and beyond. Even gave my pup a bath before we got home. It’s not easy leaving your pups but we were at ease knowing they were being so well taken care of while we were away. So grateful we found her! Highly recommend!! Would love to have her watch our pups again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nassau Village-Ratliff walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nassau Village-Ratliff maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nassau Village-Ratliff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
